PENNSYLVANIA- As much of a radical as Uncle Fester…aka Pennsylvania Senate candidate John Fetterman (D-PA) is, his wife appears to have him beat. According to Gisele Fetterman, who many believe to be the real senate candidate, “swimming in America is very racist,” the Washington Examiner reports. Of course because for Democrats, everything is racist.
Let’s try to examine why this unhinged loony tune seems to think that “swimming is very racist.” According to Gisele Fetterman, it started when they moved into the lieutenant governor’s mansion, which came equipped with a pool. She told the iGen Politics podcast the following:
“And while we did not want the mansion [yeah, we believe she didn’t want a mansion], the mansion came with a pool,” Fetterman said.
“And the pool I wanted. And the dream was to open this pool and make it into a public pool. Turn it into the people’s pool. And ensure that young people across Pennsylvania could learn to swim and learn water safety, and kind of work to right some of the wrongs.”
What wrongs you are thinking? She explains:
“You know, historically, swimming in America is very racist. Usually when you look at drowning statistics, it usually affects children of color, because of a lack of access.”

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) does show that statistically, more people of color drown than whites.
However there are a number of reasons why that is true. Lack of swimming skills is one reason. Missing or ineffective fences around water is another. Lack of close supervision is also a factor, which probably is the reason for another cause…location.
According to the CDC, among drownings occurring in infants under the age of one, two-thirds occur in bathtubs. For ages 1-4, home swimming pools account for a majority of drownings and statistically, more white children have home swimming pools than minorities. In addition, over half of fatal drownings occur among people 15 years and older and occur in natural waters such as lakes, rivers or oceans.
So it appears that yes, while drowning does occur more often in children of color than it does in white children, the CDC mentions nothing about a “lack of access” being a reason.
But hey, when milk is apparently racist, all bets are off. So while Ms. Fetterman is kind of correct about drowning affecting children of color, claiming it is because of a “lack of access” doesn’t jive with CDC stats.

Gisele Fetterman’s comments came after her husband’s bizarre debate performance against his challenger, Republican Dr. Mehmet Oz, which put wreck in the term trainwreck, as reported by the New York Post.
Despite having every advantage available to him, including two 70-inch monitors equipped with closed captioning, Fetterman’s performance was both disturbing and to be honest somewhat comical at the same time.
The fact Democrats are hanging their hat on a man who suffered a stroke and is less cognitively with it than even Joe Biden says how desperate the Democrats are to hang on to power at all costs. Fetterman’s answers to questions were all over the place and in many cases made little if any sense.
There are many who believe that Fetterman is running only as a placeholder and if he were somehow able to pull off beating Oz, he would be replaced by his wife.
In fact, Joe Biden, himself someone who often times doesn’t know where he is or what he’s supposed to be doing, may have said the quiet part out loud last week. In an appearance with Fetterman and his wife at a campaign event, Biden said Gisele Fetterman would be a “great lady in the Senate.”
“John, thank you very much for running, I really do appreciate it,” old Sleepy said at an event in Pittsburgh. “And Gisele, you’re going to be a great, great lady in the Senate.”
Biden’s dementia often has him blurt out what his handlers are planning.
