BOONE, N.C. – Police have arrested four women on charges of painting anti-Trump and anti-police graffiti around Boone. The vandalism was widespread.

Local media outlets reported a number of businesses and one police car were painted Jan. 21, according to the Fayetteville Observer.

The police department said the four Boone women were arrested late last week. The charges include seven counts of misdemeanor graffiti and one count of damaging personal property.

The women were identified as Taryn Bledsoe, 22, Julia Grainger, 22, Elizabeth Prier, 22, and Hannah Seay, 21.

Officers said the suspects painted “Black Lives Matter,” anti-Trump and anti-police slogans, which caused damage of about $10,000.

Boone Police chief Dana Crawford said a tip from High Country Crime Stoppers led to the arrests.
