Woke Texas sheriff, racist and desperate for attention, “investigates” Gov. DeSantis for…something criminal, “not sure”

BEXAR COUNTY, TX- Perhaps former Houston and Miami police chief Art Acevedo has finally shaken his reign as the biggest political hack ever to lead a police agency in the United States. That title we bestow upon his heir apparent, Sheriff Javier Salazar of Bexar County, Texas.

According to The Liberty Daily Substack, Salazar, who is apparently trying to make a name for himself as the go-to law enforcement loser, decided to insert himself in Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’s brilliant move to tweak liberals by sending illegal immigrants from Venezuela to the “sanctuary” of Martha’s Vineyard, the toney playground of the rich and famous off the coast of Massachusetts.

First a little bit of 411 for Salazar. By virtue of the fact that these folks entered the country illegally, that by definition makes them criminals. As such, Salazar should realize that as criminals, they do not enjoy the same rights and privileges as American citizens or green card holders. And it is against federal law to hire illegals.

As a law enforcement official, Salazar should have learned at the police (or sheriff’s) academy that since these individuals are in the country illegally, it is the job of law enforcement to seek their prompt removal from the country. Apparently he was absent on the day or days when they taught criminal law.

Salazar decided to appear on CNN, where he knew he would have a sympathetic ear. Probably the most bizarre thing about his appearance was when he actually advocated that business owners should commit crimes by employing these illegal immigrants.

He also implied in not-so-subtle terms that he has some racist tendencies, claiming that these illegals should compete against American workers for jobs. Oh, not just any jobs mind you. As restaurant workers.

He complained that since people have to “wait in long lines” at restaurants in San Antonio, because there isn’t enough wait staff. In other words, he doesn’t want these folks to compete for decent jobs.

He wants them working in restaurants in his community so he doesn’t have to wait to get served in city restaurants.

Of course the real reason Salazar is on CNN playing to liberal talking heads and a liberal audience is because…Ron DeSantis. Salazar is clearly attempting to elevate his self-importance by claiming he’s going to be “investigating” the Florida governor. For what, even he can’t say, but clearly he is an investigation in search of a crime, not the other way around.

Why Salazar would even insert himself in a situation where jurisdictional concerns are highly suspect, since the flight in question went from Florida to Massachusetts.

However it doesn’t matter…the leftist media in the country, no doubt getting their marching orders from the Biden regime, views DeSantis as a threat, if not in 2024 definitely in 2028. And just like they’ve relentlessly attacked former President Donald Trump, now they’ve turned their attention to America’s Governor.

The fact Salazar is trying to elevate his importance cannot be overlooked. Perhaps he’s trying to get an appointment in the Biden administration for some political hackery job, like maybe a federal marshal’s position.

Whatever his motivation is, it has nothing to do with concern over the “plight” of the illegals, who were flown by DeSantis to an island sanctuary and then promptly kicked out by the Massachusetts National Guard at the direction of Gov. Charlie Baker to Joint Base Cape Cod.

What it does have to do with is Salazar trying to feel important by getting  his mug on left-wing television.

Those racist tendencies? As JD Rucker wrote in his Substack, Salazar wasn’t advocating for these illegal Venezuelans to work in “white collar businesses,” or perhaps out of his own office. He’s advocating for them to wash dishes, or flip burgers or bus tables. You know, those “low-level” jobs leftists say Americans “won’t do.”

The hypocrisy of Salazar complaining about DeSantis having the illegals shipped to one of the wealthiest areas of the United States is mind-boggling. At least they were safe, a point made by the governor in response to Salazar’s grandstanding.

The Western Journal reports that in an appearance with Fox News Host Sean Hannity on Monday, DeSantis responded to a tweet from the Bexar County Sheriffs Office, which accused him of “[leaving migrants] to fend for themselves in Martha’s Vineyard.”

That of course was a lie, since they were all provided with information as to available resources on the island. Also, as a “sanctuary,” Martha’s Vineyard should have been well-prepared to deal with any influx of illegal immigrants.

Pushing back, DeSantis told Hannity that travel to the island was “voluntary.” He slammed Martha’s Vineyard’s abject hypocrisy, noting, “It’s only when 50 get put into Martha’s Vineyard, which wasn’t saying they didn’t want this. They wanted this. They said they were a sanctuary jurisdiction.”

Continuing, he explained, “These were people who were basically destitute and then put in a situation where they could have succeeded, but that was all virtue signaling. And not only did they not welcome them, they deported them the next day with the National Guard. Give me a break.”

DeSantis then took aim at Salazar.

“You had migrants die in the Rio Grande. You had 50 die in Texas, in a trailer because they were being neglected. Was there a freak out about that? No, there wasn’t.” Those 50 by the way died in a trailer in Bexar County, where Salazar is the sheriff.

DeSantis then took Democrats to task for the faux outrage over sending the illegals to a resort destination while millions have entered the country illegally at the behest of the Biden administration.

“You’ve had criminal aliens get across that southern border and victimize Americans, killing some, raping some. Was there any type of outrage about that? No.”

He also reminded Hannity about the current epidemic of fentanyl deaths, which he said is a result of illegal smuggling over the US-Mexico border by drug cartels. Democrats haven’t said squat about that.

Hannity told viewers that the Venezuelans were “put up in hotels, given accommodations. They were fed. They were showered. They were offered haircuts and any of the services that they were needed.”

DeSantis also disputed the leftist narrative that the illegal immigrants were “taken against their will,” a familiar talking point among left-wing media and their media sycophants.

“Yeah. Not only that. They all signed consent forms to go, and then the vendor that, that is doing this for Florida provided them with a packet that had a map of Martha’s Vineyard. It had the numbers for different services on Martha’s Vineyard, and then it had numbers for all the overall agencies in Massachusetts that handle things involving immigration and refugees.”

DeSantis then told the audience about the fact that since it is off-season in the resort community, both jobs and accommodations on the island are plentiful.

“So it was clearly voluntary, and all the other nonsense you’re hearing is just not true. And why wouldn’t they want to go given where they were? They were in really, really bad shape, and they got to be cleaned up, everything treated well, and then put in a situation—because, Sean, there are jobs available in Martha’s Vineyard. There is lodging available in Martha’s Vineyard.”

As a so-called “sanctuary jurisdiction,” DeSantis said the community should have welcomed the 48 illegal immigrants.

“Had they lived up to their—what they billed themselves as a sanctuary jurisdiction, they could have absorbed those people without a problem.”

Wrapping up, DeSantis addressed the claims that Martha’s Vineyard didn’t have jobs and didn’t have accommodations.

“Let’s just say that’s true for a minute—well, what does that mean for these poor towns in Texas? What does It mean for these other places across the country that are seeing influx? What does it mean to these small towns that Biden has dumped so many people in?”

For Salazar, it just means more camera time for him. Perhaps he can arm wrestle another camera hog, Connecticut Sen. Richard Blumenthal to see who can get more airtime.
