Wisconsin Debuts New Digital Law Enforcement Tool

Wisconsin becomes the second state in America to use a digital media crime notification program.  Dubbed the Wisconsin Crime Alert System, it can be customized for a specific region or business.  The cost for an individual or business to use the system is $12 per year.  Information can be received via text, fax, SMS, or email formats. Officials disseminating alerts can tailor the news to groups, such as convenience stores or pharmacies or pawn shops.  Pictures of suspects or stolen goods may be included in each alert.   Information may also be targeted towards a specific geographic area, for example, within a certain mile radius of a crime.  Local, state, federal, and tribal law enforcement agencies within Wisconsin will be using this new digital police tool.
