Watch: Truth about BLM revealed as former activist blows the whistle on extremist group: ‘I learned the ugly truth’

Share:

MINNESOTA- A former Black Lives Matter (BLM) activist who now serves as executive director of the Minnesota Parent Union revealed he “learned the ugly truth” about BLM, including the fact that the group has little concern for rebuilding black families and even less for improving education for black children.

In a recent video published by TakeCharge, a Minnesota-based, black-led movement that rejects Critical Race Theory (CRT), Rashad Turner described how he became a founder of BLM in St. Paul, but after only a year on the inside of the organization, came to realize that caring for black lives, black children, and black families was the least of the group’s concerns.

According to their website, the purpose of TakeCharge is, in part:

“To denounce the idea that the country is guilty of systemic racism, white privilege, and abhor the concept of identity politics and the promotion of victimhood in minority communities.”

In the video, Turner said that when he was two-years-old, his father was shot and killed. Born in Minneapolis in 1985, Turner explained more about his upbringing:

“My mother wasn’t able to take care of me, so I was raised by my grandparents. They told me that if I was going to change my life for the better, education was the answer. So, I worked hard in school.

I got into Hamline University, and earned a college degree, the first in my family. Then, I went on to earn a master’s in education from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. I am living proof that no matter you start in life, quality education is a pathway to success.”

Tuner said that he had hoped for the same success he had achieved for other children in his community and thought that BLM would be the answer, but soon found out the “ugly truth.” He said:

“In 2015, I was a founder of Black Lives Matter in St.Paul. I believed the organization stood for exactly what the name implies, black lives do matter.

However, after a year on the inside, I learned they have little concern for rebuilding black families and they cared even less about improving the quality of education for students in Minneapolis.”

He added:

“That was made clear when they publicly denounced charter schools, alongside the teachers’ union.

I was an insider in Black Lives Matter and I learned the ugly truth: the moratorium on charter schools does not support rebuilding the black family, but it does create barriers to a better education for black children.”

In June 2020, Breitbart News reported that many individuals, corporations, and teachers’ unions had adopted the rhetoric of BLM, an organization now at the receiving end of massive donations from those who strive to be viewed as “woke,” but who have failed to examine BLM’s larger political agenda.

In the “What We Believe” section of its website that has since been deleted, BLM Global Network Foundation declared its goals to “fight for freedom, liberation, and justice” and that it can only be achieved through the disruption of the “Western-prescribed nuclear family structure.”

When the page was active, it added:

“We are self-reflexive and do the work required to dismantle cisgender privilege and uplift black trans folk, especially black trans women who continue to be disproportionately impacted by trans-antagonistic violence.

We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and ‘villages’ that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable.”

The “What We Believe” page is now blank, with a “page not found” error message. Instead, the website includes a shorter statement of purpose in its “about” section, which does not include the former statement about disrupting the nuclear family.

In the video, Turner said that he resigned from BLM after only a year and a half. He added:

“But, I didn’t quit working to improve black lives and access to a great education. Today, I serve as the president and executive director of Minnesota Parent Union. We’re dedicated to helping parents move their children from failing schools to successful schools.”

He stated:

“It’s hard work and we’re up against forces that don’t want us to succeed. But success is possible. Just look at me and the hundreds of children and families we’ve helped to pursue a great education, break the chains of poverty, and lead a life of success.”

Report: Black Lives Matter releases latest iteration of “demands” for U.S. Senate, throws support behind far-left ‘Squad’

May 10th, 2021

WASHINGTON, D.C.- According to reports, Black Lives Matter (BLM) has released a new set of demands for the U.S. Senate and the group has asked its followers to sign their names in support of it.

The latest wish list from Black Lives Matter is demanding that the U.S. Senate immediately convict former President Donald Trump and ban him from ever holding an elected office again. The list includes a total of seven demands.

BLM did not offer grounds or charges upon which President Trump should be convicted and instead urged their followers to contact their Congressional representatives and demand their compliance. The demand said:

“We are joining Rep. Ilhan Omar, Rep. Ayanna Pressley, Rep. Cori Bush, Rep. Jamaal Bowman, and others who are demanding Trump be immediately convicted in the United States Senate. Trump must also be banned from holding elected office in the future. Call your members of Congress and demand they support conviction by dialing (202) 224-3121.”

Their second demand is calling for more than half of the U.S. House GOP to be expelled from Congress as well as Republican U.S. senators who “attempted to overturn the election and incited a white supremacist attack.” The demand said:

“More than half the Republican representatives and multiple senators stoked Trump’s conspiracy theories and encouraged the white supremacists to take action to overturn the election.

We are supporting Rep. Cori Bush’s resolution to expel them from Congress and their dangerous and traitorous actions. We also support steps to bar them from seeking another office.”

BLM is demanding a “full investigation into the ties between white supremacy and the Capitol Police, law enforcement, and the military.” The demand said:

“The Capitol was able to be breached and overrun by white supremacists attempting to disrupt a political process that is fundamental to our democracy.

We know that police departments have been a safe haven for white supremacists to hide mal-intent behind a badge because the badge was created for that purpose.”

The demand continued:

“We also know off-duty cops and military were among the mob at the Capitol on January 6th. Guilty parties need to be held accountable and fired. We are supporting Rep. Jamaal Bowman’s COUP Act to investigate these connections.”

BLM also want President Trump to be permanently banned from all digital media platforms. The demand said:

“Trump has always used his digital media platforms recklessly and irresponsibly to spread lies and disinformation. Now it is clearer than ever that his digital media is also used to incite violence and promote its continuation.

He must be stopped from encouraging his mob and further endangering our communities, even after inauguration.”

Black Lives Matter continued to demand on their latest list that police departments be defunded nationwide. The demand said:

“The police that met our BLM protesters this summer with assault rifles, teargas, and military-grade protective gear were the same police that, on Wednesday, met white supremacists with patience and the benefit of the doubt, going so far as to pose for selfies with rioters.

The contrast was jarring, but not for black people. We have always known who the police truly protect and serve. D.C. has the most police per capita in the country; more funding is not the solution.”

Then BLM referred to the rioting, looting, and burning that plagued large Democratic-run cities for months as its “Freedom Summer.” The demand said:

“In response to the coup, Politicians have already introduced the Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act of 2021. We’ve seen this playbook before.

These laws are used to target black and brown communities for heightened surveillance. Republicans are already busy trying to create an equivalence between the mob on January 6th and our Freedom Summer.”

The demand added:

“We don’t need new domestic terror laws, facial recognition, or any other new police power for the state. Our government should protect righteous protest and stay focused on the real issue: rooting out white supremacy.

There are enough laws, resources, and intelligence, but they were not used to stop the coup. Our elected officials must uncover why.”

The finale tenet of BLM’s new list of demands calls for elected officials to pass the “BREATHE Act,” which has been introduced by U.S. Representatives Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI).

The bill essentially has the federal government take money away from law enforcement and give it to investments in the black community. The demand said:

“The police were born out of slave patrols. We cannot reform an institution built upon white supremacy. We need a new, radical approach to public safety and community investment. President Biden has already drawn on the BREATHE Act in his executive action calling for racial equity screens in federal programs, investing in environmental justice at historic levels, and engaging with system-impacted communities. the BREATHE Act paints a vision of a world were black lives matter through investment in housing, education, health, and environmental justice.”

The list of demands ends with a request that follower sign on to a petition in support of the latest asks from the national organization.

International Olympic Committee bans kneeling and political displays, including “Black Lives Matter”, during Olympics

May 6th, 2021

TOKYO, JP – The International Olympic Committee sent a strong message for athletes that may consider any form of political displays during the Tokyo Games, to include any sort of displays related to Black Lives Matter.

Apparently, the IOC has banned all forms of political expressions or displays by athletes while participating in the Olympics.

Following a survey of a majority of the competitors for the upcoming Olympics in favor of such, the IOC notes that a ban will remain in place pertaining to competitors attempting to show displays of solidarity with protests or engaging in any sort of political messaging.

What this means is athletes that want to raise a fist while on the podium, taking a knee or any of the sort could face punishment during the Tokyo Games this year.

This study that was conducted reportedly surveyed over 3,500 athletes, which 70% of those athletes said it was “not appropriate to demonstrate or express their views,” during any opening or closing ceremonies or on the field of play.

In the event that an athlete breaches this mandate pertaining to the Tokyo games, the IOC said that the offending athlete’s National Olympic Committee, International Federation and the IOC will review the infarction and will determine what disciplinary action is warranted.

Reportedly, the IOC is slated to offer clarification on what types of disciplinary action could be taken against athletes prior to the July 23rd opening up the Tokyo Games.

Apparently, the World Players Association and Athleten Deutschland have come forward saying that they will support any athletes that make any sort of political or social justice protest during the Tokyo Games – pushing back on the Olympics long-standing ban against political displays.

Specifically, the IOC is merely reaffirming what’s known as Rule 50, which prohibits any “demonstration or political, religious or racial propaganda.”

Rule of 50 applied to metal podiums, opening and closing ceremonies, play field, and other various Olympic venues.

Examples of what would constitute any sort of protest that would infringe upon Rule 50 would include displaying any type of political messaging – even on a sign or an armband, engaging in political gestures like raising a fist or kneeling, and also refusing to adhere to ceremonial protocols during the games.

Olympic officials noted in a statement regarding the upholding of Rule 50 that this measure was employed so that way no divisive topics wind up muddling the Olympic experience for prospective viewers:

“In conclusion, these guidelines have been developed with the aim that each and every one of you can enjoy the experience of the Olympic Games without any divisive disruption.”

In other news pertaining to political displays of sorts, we at Law Enforcement Today recently reported on a “Back the Blue” rally that was postponed in Ohio.

Here’s that previous report.

_

In a recent Facebook post, U.S. Rep Majorie Greene shared the truth about why the “Back the Blue Rally ‘that was supposed to take place on May 1st in Columbus, Ohio, has instead been postponed.

According to her post, with less than 48 hours before the planned event, that the organizers paid and received a permit for, Ohio State Patrol called to inform them that a large counter “protest” by Black Lives Matter (BLM) and Antifa was also being planned and there would be no security fencing provided for the permitted and paid for rally. Greene wrote:

“At all their events they have had at the Columbus Capitol in the past, there has been security fencing provided and a counter protest area provided so that everyone’s first amendment rights were met and so that everyone’s security needs were met.

However, within less than 48 hours before the event, this time all past security measures were thrown out the window.”

Greene continued:

“Why? The organizers were told that legal counsel for Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board and legal counsel for Ohio State Patrol had met and decided there would be no security fencing allowed to separate the Pro-Police rally attendees and the organized domestic terrorist BLM/Antifa forces after having a conversation with BLM, who told them they would be there, that BLMS’s first amendment rights cannot be denied.”

She added:

“Why? My security director, who called to organize security for me as a promoted speaker for this event, was also told by the liaison for the Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board that they would not provide security for me.

When he asked if there were any off-duty officers we could hire for security, he was told no.”

According to reports, Greene and Republican U.S. Senate candidate Josh Mandel were among some of the confirmed speakers for the event. The “Back the Blue Freedom Rally!” was organized by Ohio Gun Owners. Chris Door, executive director of the group, said in a statement:

“I think it’s high time that we let the law enforcement community know that they regular, law-abiding community has their backs, we definitely support them. We didn’t want them to be forgotten, so it’s a good time to throw a rally in support of them.”

He added:

“We want people most of all to come away with hope. So many people are prone to try and make law-abiding, peaceful, normal citizens feel guilty in some way.

We want them to know that they’re not forgotten, that law enforcement officers are not forgotten, that there’s nothing to be ashamed of, that there’s nothing to back down from or apologize for, that we’re free Americans and we still live in the greatest country on earth.”

In her post, Greene pushed on about there not being any security or security fencing for this rally. She wanted to know why would people purposely put the lives of innocent people in danger. She wrote:

“Why would attorneys demand that radical violent BLM/Antifa be allowed in a Pro-Police rally after they have burned cities, looted businesses, attacked and killed innocent people like former police Captain David Dorn, attacked police officers night after night and day after day, taken over police precincts, attacked federal property and monuments, and wreaked terror and destruction for the past year on cities all across America?”

She continued:

“Is it really about BLM’s first amendment rights? This sounds like these attorneys were demanding the perfect scenario for BLM/Antifa to come in and provoke violence and attach innocent Pro-Police rally attendees and police officers so that they would be forced to defend themselves.”

Greene added:

“This sounds like these attorneys were demanding the perfect scenario for the left and the media to be able to lie and blame any violence on Pro-Police people and police officers, when it reality these attorneys were the ones who demanded there be no security fencing in the first place, putting innocent lives in danger by the radicals planning to attack.”

According to reports, on Thursday, April 29th, Dorr posted a Facebook video declaring that the event has been postponed, citing concerns about counterprotests. Dorr said:

“We have to let Antifa and Black Lives Matter and some of these violent protesters into our event and they have equal right to stand there and say what they want to and antagonize our members and our supporters, all the people there to back the blue. Our legal counsel says yes.”

Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board (CSRAB) spokesman Mike Rupert said that the board did not deny Ohio Gun Owners’ permit or cancel the event. He said:

“The Ohio Gun Owners reached the decision to postpone their event and any question regarding that decision should be directed to them.”
