Watch: Rep. Boebert brings cardboard cutout of Harris to southern border since Harris refuses to make the trip

WASHINGTON, D.C.- On Tuesday, June 8th, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) released a video highlighting that Vice President Kamala Harris (D) has yet to visit the U.S.-Mexico southern border since being told by President Joe Biden (D) that it was to be her responsibility to oversee the border crisis.

According to reports, Boebert was recently in McAllen, Texas with a delegation when she created the video depicting the Colorado congresswoman walking along the border carrying a cardboard cutout of Harris in lieu of the vice president’s real life visit.

In an interview that aired on the morning of June 8th on NBC’s Today Show, Harris was pressed about why she has yet to visit the U.S.-Mexico border. Lawmakers from both parties have been urging her to go since being tapped as the border czar by Biden. Harris responded by saying:

“And I haven’t been to Europe. And I mean, I don’t understand the point that you’re making. I’m not discounting the importance of the border.”

Harris just wrapped up a three-day visit to Guatemala and Mexico where she allegedly sought to “focus on the root causes” of migration from Central America to the United States. In her response above, she again claimed that she is focused on solving the border problem “at its source.”

In Boebert’s video, she states:

“You can’t just hear about what’s happening. You have to come down here to see for yourself to really understand the devastating reality at our southern border. So, I brought Kamala down to see exactly what this regime is responsible for with their manmade crisis.”

Boebert’s video is one of numerous instances of Republicans as well as some Democrats, calling on the vice president to make a trip to the southern border to witness the realities of the crisis firsthand.

Instead, Harris’s first trip as Biden’s “border point person” was a two-day trip to Guatemala and Mexico, two nations where illegal immigrants often originate. Asked by a reported in Guatemala about the questions and criticisms Harris has faced over the ongoing calls for her to visit the U.S. border, she said:

“I came here to be here on the ground to speak with the leader of this nation around what we can do in a way that is significant, is tangible, and has real results and I will continue to be focused on that kind of work as opposed to grand gestures.”

In her video, Boebert lists statistics that sum up what is happening at the southern border. She said:

“Illegal aliens crossing the border, that’s up. Sex offenders crossing the border, that’s up. Drug trafficking, gun smuggling, human smuggling, that’s up.”

On Tuesday, June 8th, during a White House briefing, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said that she “expects” Harris will travel to the border “at some point,” but said the vice president is currently focused on addressing root causes of migration in Central American. Psaki said:

“What her focus as been, what the assignment is specifically, is to work with leaders in the Northern triangle. She’s on a trip doing exactly that, exactly what the President asked her to do.”

Yet, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reported that their agency is encountered more than 101,000 illegal immigrants in February, more than 173,000 in March, and more than 178,000 in April.

Those monthly totals represent a 175 percent increase, a 403 percent increase, and a 944 percent increase over last year’s totals. In her video, Boebert said:

“You know what’s not up at the southern border? Respect for law and order, funding for our Border Patrol and where is the media to cover this crisis? More than 70 days ago, Biden named cackling Kamala as the border czar, but she hasn’t done a single thing to protect the American people.”

At the end of the video, Boebert propped up the cardboard cut out of Harris and said:

“Now, Kamala, I want you to stand here and look at what you’ve done.”

This video is the latest in a string of attention-grabbing moves from the outspoken congresswoman. In April, Boebert wrapped herself with a foil blanket during Biden’s joint address speech to illustrate conditions for unaccompanied illegal immigrant children in federal border facilities.

In January, upon her arrival to Congress, Boebert released a video walking around Capitol Hill with the visual of a concealed gun to advocate for Second Amendment rights.

Rep. Boebert’s trolls critics by displaying guns in background of Zoom call: ‘These are ready for use’

February 20th, 2021

WASHINGTON, D.C.– Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) has responded to critics who mocked her for her Zoom conference call that had guns in the background.

According to reports, Boebert virtually appeared at a House Natural Resources Committee Zoom meeting on Thursday, February 18th, where she was seen sitting in front of a display of guns on a bookshelf.

Boebert was in her own home during the virtual meeting, but that still did not stop critics from mocking the freshman lawmaker. Her critics claim that the guns were in an “unsafe” storage, but she fought back stating, “These are ready for use.”

During the virtual meeting, Boebert fired back at the House Natural Resources Committee rule prohibiting firearms in its hearing room. During the Zoom call, she said:

“This rule is absurd and discriminative. This is a blatant violation of our constitutional rights.”

She proceeded to request the committee issue her a “personal security detail” if they insisted on upholding the rule. She said:

“I would like to request at this time personal security detail that the chairman pays for himself, for every time I’m stepping into the committee room. If this is passed, the chairman is trying to take responsibility for my personal safety while stripping away my Second Amendment rights.”

The House Natural Resources Committee upheld the ban. The outlet reported:

“Per a 1967 regulation, Congress members are allowed to keep guns in their offices and transport them around the Capitol complex. However, there are some executions, including on the House and Senate floors.”

The statement added:

“In recent weeks, Republican lawmakers, including Boebert, have touted (sic) the regulation and opposed what they perceive as restrictions to it.”

A Democratic spokesperson said:

“As far as we’re concerned, we’re not doing anything new here. We’re restating existing policy.”

Some of Boebert’s critics did not censor their words. Rep. Jared Huffman (D-CA) mocked Boebert over her “gun fetish.” During the hearing, he said:

“Here’s the reality, if someone wants to have a shrine to their gun fetish as a Zoom backdrop in their private life, they can do it. But, this is our hearing room and at some point, we will get past the COVID epidemic and we’ll all start showing up in person.”

He added:

“And our safety and our ability to conduct business civilly without feeling threatened is a relevant consideration, unfortunately.”

Rep. Jason Crow (D-CO), a U.S. veteran, also blasted Boebert for the gun display. He posted a picture of a gun safe on Twitter and wrote:

“Let’s call this what it is, a political stunt. I never stacked guns on a bookshelf when at war, let alone on a Zoom in my living room. Unless you’re on patrol in Afghanistan, this is the right way to store a gun.”

On Twitter, Rep. Katie Porter (D-CA) wrote:

“I always thought my dirty dishes piled up and accumulating bacteria were the most dangerous thing in a Zoom background.”

Boebert fired back at a commenter who panned her for “unsafe gun storage.” She wrote:

“Who says this is storage? These are ready for use.”

Boebert, a gun-rights advocate, gained recent national attention when she suggested that she would carry a Glock with her around Washington, D.C. and to Congress. She represents Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District and ran her 2020 campaign on a pro-gun platform.

She reportedly owns a restaurant in the state called Shooters Grille and the staff are encouraged to openly carry firearms.

In fiery House Speech, Rep. Boebert calls Trump impeachment ‘bull crap,’ calls out hypocrisy of those behind it

January 14th, 2021

WASHINGTON, DC – Firecracker Representative Lauren Boebert (R-CO) marked Day 10 of her new career with an explosive speech on the House floor during debate before the vote to impeach President Donald Trump.

President Donald Trump became the first president to be impeached twice, after being charged with “incitement of insurrection” over last week’s attack on the Capitol as lawmakers certified the Electoral College vote. He will now face trial in the Senate, which may not occur until he leaves office in six days.

Rep. Boebert was granted one minute to speak on the floor, and she used every second. Starting out with the phrase “Glory to God,” everyone in the chamber was put on notice that this was not going to be just another floor speech.

Her opening statement set the stage for what was to come:

“Madam Speaker, I rise today to oppose this impeachment and to denounce the recent violence on the Capitol just as I opposed the previous impeachment and the violence, we’ve all witnessed all summer long across our great country.”

The congresswoman who made headlines as a gun-toting, stubborn, and controversial high school drop-out who invaded the inner sanctum of Harvard and Yale graduates that is Washington politics, continued her speech on the floor while shaking her finger:

“Make no mistake here. The hypocrisy of the Left is on full display. Quote: ‘Go to the Hill, get in the face of some Congresspeople. We’ve got to fight in Congress, fight in the courts, fight in the streets. Take him behind the gym and beat the hell out of him. Go and take Trump out tonight.’ Sound familiar?”

Rep. Boebert was referring to several members of the Democratic party who made statements that could be considered calls to violence. For example, in 2008, President Barack Obama said:

“I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors. I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face.”

In 2017, Democratic Senator Tim Kane said:

“So, the way we get outside the bubble is we take advantage of this tremendous public outcry against the administration…What we’ve got to do is fight in Congress, fight in the courts, fight in the streets, fight online, fight at the ballot box, and now there’s the momentum to be able to do this.”

In March 2018, President-elect Biden, then a presidential candidate, said of Donald Trump:

“If we were in high school, I’d take him behind the gym and beat the hell out of him.”

In October 2018, Democratic Representative Maxine Waters made a direct threat to President Trump:

“I will go and take Trump out tonight.”

Rep. Boebert continued her fiery opposition to the impeachment of President Donald Trump by attacking a comment made by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) in July:

“What about the gentlewoman from New York who defended the looting by saying, ‘Looters just wanted loaves of bread.’ Well, the last I checked, BestBuy and Teslas and stores of the like do not produce baked goods.”

With her hand waving around, Rep. Boebert ended her speech by saying that the impeachment of President Trump would only divide the country further:

“Where is the accountability for the left? After encouraging and normalizing violence, rather than actually helping (the) American people in this time, we start impeachments that further divide our country. I call bull crap when I hear the Democrats demanding unity. Sadly, they are only unified in hate.”

On Monday, Rep. Boebert gave a preview of her fierce speech by releasing a statement Monday calling out what she views as the Democrat’s hypocrisy regarding calls for violence. In the statement she wrote:

“We should take Democrats at their word when they say never let a crisis go to waste.

Their hypocrisy is on full display with talks of impeachment, censure, and other ways to punish Republicans for false accusations of inciting the type of violence they have so frequently and transparently supported in the past.”

The statement mentioned two previous incidents when the young representative was attacked by Democrats. One such incident occurred after she sent a tweet during the attack on the Capitol when she tweeted that the “Speaker (Pelosi) has been removed from the chambers.”

Although she did not give any specific details on Speaker Pelosi’s location, Democrats accused her of aiding the rioters, and some called for her resignation.

She was also called out for tweeting, “Today is 1776” at 6:30 a.m. on the morning of the Capitol assault.

In the statement, Rep. Boebert wrote:

“They accuse me of live-tweeting the Speaker’s presence after she had been safely removed from the Capitol, as if I was revealing some big secret, when in fact this removal was also being broadcast on TV.

They act as if Republicans created objections to the Electoral College certification out of thin air, when it was Democrats who objected in 2001, 2005, and 2017.

“They act as though a reference to the founding of our country and the bravery of upholding our Constitutional oath is criminal, which says a whole lot more about them than it does about me or any other Republican.”

The statement called out Democrats for allowing violence to rage throughout the nation during a summer featuring Black Lives Matter and Antifa demonstrations and riots:

“The reality is that Joe Biden didn’t condemn Antifa when he had a chance to, Kamala Harris spent much of the summer helping those arrested for violent behavior post bail and get back on the streets as quickly as possible, and Speaker Pelosi encouraged uprisings all over the country.”

Giving a clear signal of what Democrats should expect during the remainder of her term, Rep. Boebert closed the statement:

“I denounced the violence over the summer just as I did the recent events at the Capitol. I defended our Constitution and I always will. America will persevere because freedom always prevails.

But let’s get real—the far-left and their policies are causing harm to our country. I refuse to let their political machine write a narrative that millions of Americans know is false.”
