Was post about Florida elementary school field trip to gay bar a setup to trap and target parents?

WILTON MANORS, FL- And they wonder why parents are fed up. According to WSVN 7 in Miami, a field trip by an elementary school in Wilton Manors, Florida has sparked outrage after the trip, allegedly designed to teach students about the restaurant business, ended up at a bar described as a “gay” bar.

Actually, the timing of the “field trip,” even though it’s been done before, is extremely suspect however given the recent letter sent to the Biden administration asking for federal involvement in local school issues by the National School Board Association. More on that shortly.

Broward County School Board member Sarah Leonardi chaperoned the field trip and posted it on Facebook and Twitter, which led to an online story which referred to the restaurant, Rosie’s Bar & Grill, as a gay bar.

WSVN reached out to Leonardi, who issued a statement which read, in part:

“As a school board member, I am committed to staying engaged with my community. I’m always proud to join classes for field trips and events, especially when our schools are connecting with the vibrant small businesses in my district.”

There have also allegedly been threats levied against Leonardi, which she also addressed:

“Sadly, I’ve recently been attacked with bigoted comments and death threats. My friends and family have also been targeted.”

She went on to say there was no place for such behavior and that she has had to let the appropriate authorities know.

The contents of Rosie’s menu might lend an idea as to what type of establishment it is. According to the menu on it’s website, the Daily Wire reports, are such offerings as Rhoda Cowboy, Ivana Hooker, Hellena Bun (with “Smack My Cheeks and Make ‘em Rosy” sauce), Georgia Bleu, Young Ranch Hand, and Willy Cheesesteak. The outlet noted it was uncertain if children were given menus.

Rosie’s Bar & Grill menu-YouTube screenshot

The bar’s website says:

“Rosie’s Bar and Grill has been a tropical oasis in the middle of the Island City, Wilton Manors, since 2006, offering amazing food and refreshing drinks and sassy fun. Whether you come for lunch or dinner, for Sunday Funday Brunch or for just a few drinks…whether you are LBGTQ+ or an ally…whether you are local or visiting…whether you come with a group or venture out solo…you will have a memorable experience with the most talented crew in South Florida.”

The field trip raised a number of questions outside of the fact the place appears to cater to the gay community as a bar, foremost being it was irrelevant what type of bar it was, it was a bar! Some however defended the trip, including Rosie’s co-owner John Zieba.

“It’s a really nice event,” he said, noting the kids learn about the restaurant business and order from a “kid-friendly” menu.

“They talk about what they’re eating and how to order and how they want their food—if the want something on the side,” said Zieba, “so it’s a great experience for them.”

He also noted children had the chance to color pumpkins on the latest trip.

He noted that negative reaction to the latest trip has caused him to reach out to the local police department.

He said Rosie’s is more of a restaurant than a bar, and hopes the school visits continue.

“It’s bright and fun and just meant to put people in a good mood,” he said. “It’s just a cheery place to be.”

We’re sure.

The Daily Mail cited a number of posters on Twitter who slammed bringing school children to a bar in the first place.

“Regardless if it’s a gay bar or not…it’s a bar!! Why are kids going on a field trip TO A BAR?!?!!” one said.

Another, “Could honestly care less if the establishment was ‘gay’ or whatever HWY A BAR OF ALL THINGS,” someone else tweeted.

The Mail reached out to the school; however they didn’t respond to the request.

This is the same school district, by the way, that has disregarded an executive order by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis banning mask mandates in public schools in the state, Local10.com reported.

All of this of course begs the question…why did Leonardi post the field trip on Twitter, tagging both the Wilton Manors Elementary School and the bar  in the post? One might almost think she did it on purpose to gin up a segment of the community that either doesn’t want their children going to such an establishment (a bar), or may have an issue with what schools are attempting to do in the area of radical LGBT indoctrination.

Coming on the heels of the memorandum issued by incompetent US Attorney General Merrick Garland unleashing the FBI and other federal law enforcement assets on parents who complain about their local school boards and officials.

Garland was absolutely eviscerated Wednesday during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing by Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Josh Hawley (R-MO) and Tom Cotton (R-AR).

Garland’s memo wasn’t lost on at least one Twitter poster, Christina Pushaw, press secretary for DeSantis:

“What if the Broward school board member took little kids to this bar EXPECTING that some parents would protest, so she could call the FBI and go on MSNBC to discuss all the “threatening messages” she’s received from ‘insurrectionist’ parents?”

As always, you can count on The Babylon Bee for a little satire that becomes reality:

Stay tuned…you can bet there is much more to this than meets the eye.

AMERICA- Push, push…nudge, nudge. You thought this was all only about a virus? Think again. This is about control. And now that some people are starting to push back, namely parents, the ruling elite no longer want to hear about it.

Now, a group that represents school boards across the country is asking the Biden administration to use the PATRIOT Act, as well as “hate crime” laws to silence parents. Yes, THAT PATRIOT Act, the one that is supposed to protect the United States from foreign terrorists.

According to Fox News, the group is asking the administration to review alleged threats and violence against leftist school administrators and schools as they push the radical, racist Critical Race Theory (CRT) as well as other radical dogma to our nation’s students, in addition to draconian COVID-19 restrictions.

On Wednesday, the National School Boards Association (NSBA) requested the federal government look into whether there are any available actions that can be taken against concerned parents which they referred to as “vitriol and violence” by using either the Gun-Free School Zones Act and/or the PATRIOT Act, the extremely controversial bill that was passed in record time after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, almost as if it had already been written ahead of time.

The request resulted as more and more parents across the country have taken an increasing interest in what children are being taught in school, which apparently some don’t like.

Much of this came as a result of children being taught via Zoom last year in the midst of the pandemic and where parents were able to see up close and personal the indoctrination their children were being exposed to.

Some school officials and school board members have resigned or will not seek reelection as a result. Of course many teachers have likewise resigned, uncomfortable with being a part of teaching CRT, a neo-Marxist ideology which is in fact racist.

“Coupled with attacks against school board members and educators for approving policies for masks to protect the health and safety of students and school employees, many public-school officials are also facing physical threats because of propaganda purporting the false inclusion of critical race theory within classroom instruction and curricula,” said the letter, signed by NSBA President Viola Garcia and Chip Slaven, the group’s interim executive director and CEO.

Furthermore, the group asked for a review of threats and violence under the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act, the Violent Interference with Federally Protected Rights statute, and the Conspiracy Against Rights statute. In other words, these people are desperate.

Their statement seems to fly in the face of previous statements made by the president of the American Federation of Teachers Randi Weingarten, who in July defended CRT while at the same time making the false claim that it’s not being taught in public schools, the New York Post reported.

Weingarten claimed that people were trying to “stop us from teaching kids’ honest history.” Which of course is their version of history straight out of the 1619 Project, which is a laughable take on U.S. history and has been debunked by scores of historians.

At the same conference, the AFT hosted Ibram X. Kendi, author of the racist tome “How to Be an Antiracist,” with Kendi being one of the main proponents of CRT.

In fact, Kendi has said that people need to be racist toward white people to make up for past racism against blacks. He also makes the “heads I win tails you lose” argument, suggesting that people who refuse to admit they are racist are, in fact racist. So Weingarten doth protest too much.

However in recent months, since in-person learning returned in most jurisdictions, parents have taken a keen interest in what their kids are being taught. School districts nationwide have seen angry demonstrations and speeches from parents tired of schools indoctrinating kids, be in CRT or hyping deviate sexual behavior.

The letter from the NSBA cited anger over those issues along with draconian, harmful mask mandates as spurring their call for government intervention, i.e. overreach.

Probably ground zero for the CRT protestations has come from Loudoun County, Virginia, where a group opposed to CRT, Free to Learn Coalition, launched a $500,000 ad blitz critical of the local school board. That county was where a group of administrators and teachers actually blacklisted and doxed parents who spoke out against CRT being taught in classrooms.

The White House, which likes to involve itself in pretty much everything despite the 10th Amendment, weighed in this week, with White House mouthpiece Jen Psaki saying that responsibility for “protecting school boards” is primarily a local responsibility, however continued “we’re continuing to explore if more can be done from across the administration.”

One thing we’ve seen is Biden and his regime have no problem sticking their nose into everything whether it’s legal or not.

“Obviously these threats to school board members is horrible. They’re doing their jobs,” she said during a press briefing.

Their job is to advocate for the students and their parents, not to brainwash kids into leftist neo-Marxist ideology.

Too bad Psaki and the Democrats weren’t interested in using the PATRIOT Act against antifa and Black Lives Matter anarchists last year. But we understand…those are their voters.

If you want to know how much Democrats and the other leftist radicals value what their role is, look no further than the lunatic running for governor in Virginia, Terry McAuliffe, the former governor who is running for another term after abdicating for four years.

He said this week that parents basically have no business getting involved in their kids’ education, a statement for which the former Clinton hack was excoriated.

“I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach,” the feckless moron said during a debate against Republican candidate Glenn Youngkin in Alexandria.

Youngkin, while acknowledging school boards should make decisions, said parents had to have a role, as well as input regarding “concepts of safety and privacy.”

“What we’ve seen over the course of this past 20 months is our school systems refusing to engage with parents. In fact, in Fairfax County this past week, we watched parents so upset because there was such sexually explicit material in the library they had never seen, it was shocking,” The Republican candidate said.

“And in fact, you [McCauliffe] vetoed the bill that would have informed parents that they were there. You believe school systems should tell children what to do. I believe parents should be in charge of their kids’ education.”

McCauliffe argued that parents “had the right to veto books” under the bill he vetoed. “I’m not going to let parents come into schools and actually take books out, and make their own decision,” McCauliffe said.

Typical power-mad Democrat.

The NSBA letter addressed news articles and incidents in which threats were allegedly made against school board members and officials as well as of meetings being disrupted.

In Michigan, one individual yelled a so-called “Nazi salute” in protest over mask requirements during a meeting, while another person who was angry over CRT prompted the school board to take their pail and shovel and call a recess.

Board meetings have been disrupted in a number of states, including California, Florida and Georgia.

In Arizona, it’s alleged that three men threatened to make a citizen’s arrest of a principal over the school’s COVID-19 restrictions.

“These threats or actual acts of violence against our school districts are impacting the delivery of educational services to students and families,” Garcia and Slaven wrote.

In addition to using the full force of the federal government against parents trying to protect their children, the NSBA also asked the U.S. Postal Service to intervene against threatening letters and cyberbullying against students, teachers, board members and other educators.

All of this of course shows how desperately the left wants to control the narrative of what they teach children. This is perhaps why more parents are deciding to remove their kids from the indoctrination mills known as public schools and home school them.

FALLS CHURCH, VA- Is there any wonder why some parents are at war with their public schools?

Look no further than Fairfax County, Virginia, where an elementary school shared a radical video for students which suggested that police are dangerous to be around, criticized white parents, and pushed radical LGBTQ ideology, Fox News reports.

The video, part of summer learning guidance and subsequently removed the video titled “Woke Kindergarten 60 Second Texts: Safe,” and claims it was posted “by mistake.” At the end of the short 58 second clip, the narrator says, “I feel safe when there are no police.”

According to American Thinker, once that video was over, the autoplay feature on the website shipped more videos to the young children, including such “classics” as “We Keep Us Safe,” an anti-police video; “They, She, He Easy as ABC” and “My Pronoun Book,” both pushing the radical transgender agenda; and “Black Lives Matter,” and “Rainbow Baby,” both of which push the radical neo-Marxist Black Lives Matter organization.

A spokesperson for the Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS), located just outside Washington, D.C., said the video was posted in “error” and was removed as soon as officials became aware. It is more than likely it was removed as soon as it went public.

Fox said the video was included in a summer learning guide at Bailey’s Elementary School for the Arts and Sciences in the city of Falls Church, along with other content related to critical race theory, Black Lives Matter and news articles critical of white parents, the Fairfax County Times reported.

The “Woke Kindergarten” Instagram link was also included in a list of so-called “equity resources for teachers” on the school’s website. In other words, the chances that it was “posted in error” are slim and none.

Fox said screenshots of the now deleted content show the “Woke Kindergarten” material was linked to a summer reading guide for second graders under a section entitled “Mentor Texts for Writing.”

Parents in the district became aware of the content before it was removed. Elizabeth Shultz, a former FCPS board member wrote that “someone needs firing!”

According to Asra Nomani, vice president at Parents Defending Education, whose son recently graduated from the Fairfax County district said the summer reading guidance may have also been available to students in other district schools. The group preserved a copy of the summer learning guide prior to its removal.

“The message that they’re trying to send to the second graders is exactly the mixed messages that adults are having to deal with, which is we feel unsafe out in the streets now because of the entire ‘defund the police’ movement that has led to less police presence,” she told Fox News last week.

“But now the police are being blamed for it. So it’s this contradiction that is basically very manipulative—and it’s so inappropriate for second graders to have to grapple with this.”

Police being excoriated and blamed for the nation’s ills also comes in the midst of liberals attempting to remove school resource officers from schools.

“It’s a very dangerous message because there was a time when you were actually taught to go to the police, if you were lost or if you felt unsafe,” she said.

The since-removed website, besides linking to “Woke Kindergarten,” also linked to accounts on social media called “No White Saviors,” as well as individual personal accounts which contained photographs and information which a number of parents considered too sensitive to be suggested for elementary school teachers to include in classroom instruction, the Fairfax County Times said.

They noted that some of the photos suggested accounts that had explicit language or content including nudity and semi-nudity.

Schultz posted photographs of the information on Twitter.

“This is Not Education—it is indoctrination. School Boards in Fairfax & beyond: STOP targeting CRT, sexualized, & politicized content to little children; lying to parents that you’re not doing it; & pressing employees into professional development to make them complicit,” she tweeted.

The Times said they reached out to Bailey’s Crossroads principal, however, was intercepted by the FCPS who provided the ass-covering statement about removing the content.

If someone clicks on the original link that contained the controversial information, visitors are taken to Bailey Elementary’s website, however there is a message that says, “You are not authorized to access this page,” and access is denied.

Schultz slammed the suggested media, claiming it was not professional for education:

“K-12 educators: it’s not ok to source our training this way—stand up & speak up; children deserve parents & teachers who don’t believe this is acceptable professional development,” she tweeted.

Nomani suggested the FCPS needs more parental oversight.

“I was shocked by what I saw on the Bailey’s Elementary School website. Fairfax County Public Schools needs parental supervision,” she said.

“They continue to fail students and families by wasting valuable resources, staff time, and energy on the politics of indoctrination, rather than education.

It just took me a few minutes to find FCPS promoting on an elementary school website the work of the divisive Abolitionist Teaching Network and also the R-rated social media feeds of a ‘sex educator’ and sexuality activists.”

Besides Schultz and Nomani, a number of other parents were also outraged by the content.

“I’m now outta fcps bc we moved our last to private but everyone on her should post this to their personal page so that as many families as possible wake up,” one parent commented on Facebook.

“This is absurd, and I don’t normally post anything controversial normally, but this is beyond reproach. Any public school system that would allow links to private social sites without concern for the content clearly feels above their constituents.”

Another parent said:

“White parents are what’s wrong with public schools?” the parent asked. “I have been involved in helping and supporting public schools my whole life.

When my twins were younger sometimes, I was room parent for both classes, volunteered in the classroom, library, PTA, office, school board parent rep (Ohio). The title and description of the podcast [Nice White Parents] is infuriating.”

Nomani continued:

“It’s unconscionable the indoctrination FCPS is pushing on vulnerable at-risk minority students and families at a Title 1 school, where many families are Hispanic immigrants from Central America, still learning English,” Nomani said.

“Meanwhile they are keeping such controversial material off the websites of schools with mostly white students. They know that most parents would never accept such inappropriate material for their young ones. They shouldn’t try to pull a fast one on any parents. We must all remain vigilant about what is happening in our local schools, prioritizing always the wellbeing—not corruption—of our youth.”

Law Enforcement Today recently reported on the Abolitionist Teaching Network (ATN), which the Biden administration was forced to distance itself from after it included the same link in guidance published for the country’s schools for safe coronavirus reopening’s, also calling the posting there an “error.”

The head of ATN, a neo-Marxist radical named Bettina Love, is a proponent of critical race theory, who has also advocated for the elimination of prisons, capitalism and pretty much every other pillar of American society, according to National Review. In fact, Love has advocated replacing America itself and starting over with a new system. This is what our kids are being taught.

According to Fox, a description of “Woke Kindergarten” also pushes so-called “abolitionist” education.

“Woke Kindergarten is a global, abolitionists early learning community, creative expanse and consultancy supporting children, families, educators and organizations in their commitment to abolitionist early education and pro-black liberation.”

The suggestion has been made by some, including Tucker Carlson, Mark Levin, and right here on these pages that perhaps it is time for cameras in the classrooms. If they’re good enough for, as the left says, “controlling ‘rogue’ cops,” so too should it be good enough to control rogue teachers.

The following editorial is written by a retired Chief of Police and current staff writer for Law Enforcement Today.

The “American Rescue Plan” has been touted by the Biden administration as a means to help American people and businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

However a new report from Fox News shows the plan has much more in mind than offering financial support to the American people and businesses.

Included within the ARP is the administration’s guidance for reopening schools in the fall and includes the promotion of a radical activist group’s handbook that pushes critical race theory.

The handbook, authored by the Abolitionist Teaching Network (ATN) advocates teachers to “disrupt whiteness and other forms of oppression.”

The Department of Education provided a link to the ATN’s “Guide for Racial Justice & Abolitionist Social and Emotional Learning” within its guidance for reopening schools while recommending how schools should spend the windfall, they received through the American Rescue Plan.

According to Fox, the ATN’s website is full of links to materials and various forms of media which include language clearly associated with critical race theory, although they are incredibly careful to avoid using that specific phrase.

“’Abolitionist Teachers’ should ‘[b]uild a school culture that engages in healing and advocacy. This requires a commitment to learning from students, families and educators who disrupt whiteness and other forms of oppression,’” the guide says.

Advocates for critical race theory, including the president of  the American Federation of Teachers, Randi Weingarten have claimed that it is not being taught in public schools, and says those speaking out against it are misinformed.

However, a significant number of ATN’s board members and associated activists are either current or former teachers and educators who have pushed for race-related reform in schools.

Fox notes that ATN’s mission statement is somewhat vague, however information contained within the website shows its desire to overhaul the educational system and push for racial awareness.

“Abolitionist Teaching Network’s mission is to develop and support those in the struggle for educational freedom utilizing the intellectual work and direct action of Abolitionists in many forms,’ according to the group’s website.

The materials referenced by the Department of Education, however, specify exactly how so-called “Abolitionist Teachers” should direct students toward abolitionist social and emotional learning.

One area where ATN goes off the rails is where they talk about something called “spirit murder.” What exactly is that?

According to the Washington Free Beacon citing documents obtained by Christopher Rufo of City Journal, the term was defined as:

“[The murder of] the souls of black children every day through systemic, institutionalized, anti-black, state-sanctioned violence.”

The group advocates removing “all punitive or disciplinary practices that spirit murder black, brown or indigenous children.”

Among other demands by the ATN’s guide includes:

“[f]ree, antiracist therapy for white educators and support staff,” while stating that teaching and learning standards, including teacher evaluations should be “grounded in the pursuit of black, brown, and indigenous liberation, criticality, excellence and joy,” whatever all that means.

Co-founder Bettina Love, a racist anti-white extremist has actively said that the network is not interested in creating or reimagining schools, rather they seek to “destroy[ing] schools that do nothing but harm black and brown children.”

She said the group would “create a national database of antiracist school counselors, therapists and lawyers,” whom she said would work as “activists in residence” to travel across the U.S. and “go into schools or communities and do the work of dismantling.”

“If you don’t recognize that white supremacy is in everything we do, then we got a problem. I want us to be feared.”

This is the chairman of a group the Department of Education is using to guide the reopening of America’s schools, a clear neo-Marxist radical.

A second co-founder and fellow board member Brandelyn Tosolt describes herself as an “educator of white teachers.” She claimed during the webinar that she has a “significant history” of “trying to help other white teachers trouble their internalized white supremacy and anti-blackness.”

So one would wonder, why would the Department of Education link to such a radical organization? According to Rufo, Love was hosted in 2020 by Department of Education Deputy Secretary Cindy Marten, then superintendent of the San Diego Unified School District, as previously reported by Fox News.

Love conducted “diversity training” for district managers and principals last September, during which Love said schools didn’t see blacks as human and were anti-black. She also claimed schools “spirit murder” black students.

Fox reported that when introducing Love, Marten gave her a “glowing introduction.”

Schools across the country have access to a cool $122 billion for the Department of Education to dole out to state agencies, who would then distribute the money to local school systems.

The American Rescue Plan mandates that at least 20% of the funds be utilized in consideration of “students’ academic, social and emotional needs.”

The Department of Education’s handbook links to the ATN in one section.

“Schools are microcosms of society, therefore, culturally responsive practices [and] intentional conversations related to race and social emotional learning…are the foundation for participating in a democracy and should be anchor tenets in building a schoolwide system of educational opportunity,” then hyperlinks to the Abolitionist Teaching Network.

The handbook says:

“[S]tudents and families still experience racism and implicit bias in their lives in and out of school. Efforts to reengage students of color can be supported by directly working to address any longstanding feelings of distrust resulting from students’ and families’ of color experiences in school prior to the pandemic and that may have been exacerbated by events of the last year in and out of the school context.”

One area of the ATN’s propaganda piece which is worthy of note is where it addresses school discipline.

Educators, it says, should “resist punitive or disciplinary approaches, and do not involve school resource officers or police.”

In other words, and this is addressed further within the document, ATN wants “all punitive or disciplinary practices that ‘spirit murder’ black, brown and indigenous children” removed. That would appear to include school resource officers.

So, it would appear that this group doesn’t want police anywhere near the schools. To what end?

In May 2018, a school resource officer at a high school in Illinois likely stopped a mass school shooting. The incident, at Dixon High School saw SRO Mark Dallas, who the suspect shot at, return fire and hit the suspect, according to WOAD. No students or staff members were injured in the incident. Officer Dallas was praised for his quick action.

“I could not be more proud of the officer…because of his heroic actions lives were saved,” said Dixon Police Chief Steven C. Howell.

Earlier, in March 2018 another school resource officer likely stopped a mass school shooting at Great Hills High School in Great Mills, Maryland. A teenager shot and critically wounded a girl inside the school, then was confronted by the SRO who shot and killed him.

St. Mary’s County Sheriff Tim Cameron praised the SRO, Deputy First Class Blaine Gaskill for his quick action, noting he was able to contain the situation in under a minute.

“Had to cover significant ground,” Cameron said. “The premise is simple: you go to the sound of gunfire.”

In 2014, two SROs in Troutdale, Oregon were credited with preventing carnage at the Reynold High School, according to The Blaze.

Officers Nick Thompson and Kyle Harris were at the school when two shots were fired in the boy’s locker room. After fatally shooting a student, the shooter went into one of the school bathrooms. It was unclear how he died, however one of the officers fired shots at him.

“As soon as this happened, they were there in less than a minute,” Multnomah County Sheriff Dan Staton said at the time. “Had they not been there, it could have been a lot worse.”

Troutdale Police Chief Scott Anderson also praised the officers’ quick response, saying they likely “saved many of our students’ lives.”

So we ask again…to what end would we remove school resource officers from schools, and moreover why would we work to prevent police in general from responding to schools? That is the end came for these CRT zealots, who are attempting to turn our schools into neo-Marxist training camps.

This is why it is more important than ever for parents and other interested parties to be very aware of what our children are being indoctrinated into in our schools.

The Biden administration and the Department of Education are clearly down with the revolution. We would propose that Biden doesn’t even know what’s going on due to his cognitive state. We already have a generation of children at risk after they lost over one-year of in-person education, and now when they are getting ready to return to school, they’re potentially going to be instructed in this garbage?

The Marxists are in charge, and it is up to us to defeat them.

Editor note: In 2020, we saw a nationwide push to “defund the police”.  While we all stood here shaking our heads wondering if these people were serious… they cut billions of dollars in funding for police officers.  And as a result, crime has skyrocketed – all while the same politicians who said “you don’t need guns, the government will protect you” continued their attacks on both our police officers and our Second Amendment rights.

And that’s exactly why we’re launching this national crowdfunding campaign as part of our efforts to help “re-fund the police”.
