HERMOSA BEACH, Calif. – Vince Vaughn was arrested early Sunday morning in California on suspicion of driving while under the influence and resisting arrest, police said.
The “Wedding Crashers” star was arrested in Hermosa Beach in Los Angeles County around 12:30 a.m. after being stopped at a sobriety checkpoint, Manhattan Beach Police said.
Vaughn, 48, came upon the checkpoint at the intersection of Prospect Avenue and Artesia Boulevard, said Manhattan Beach Police Sgt. Matt Sabosky.
A mugshot released Sunday showed the actor giving a slight smile to the camera.
Another passenger was inside the vehicle Vaughn was driving, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The passenger, who was not identified, was also arrested.

Sgt. Sabosky said Vaughn’s passenger, a male, was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication as well as resisting, delaying or obstructing police, reported NBC Los Angeles.

The 48-year-old actor is best known for his roles in comedies like “Dodgeball” and “Wedding Crashers,” but has landed more dramatic roles in recent years, such as the drill sergeant in the Oscar-winning “Hacksaw Ridge.”
Vaughn also had a run-in with police in 2001 when he was arrested after a bar brawl in Wilmington, N.C. Actor Steve Buscemi was also stabbed in that incident.
The famed actor faced an assault charge, but it was later dismissed.
A spokesman for Vaughn did not comment on Sunday’s arrest to The Associated Press.
Vaughn was released from custody about 7 a.m., Sabosky added. The sergeant did not immediately know if the passenger was still in custody or released.
