WASHINGTON, DC- The Biden administration, which touts itself as an “administration of the people” and one which has repeatedly touted its strong support of labor unions Thursday forced employees of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) out of the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE).
The move smacks of retaliation due to the National ICE Council’s repeated criticism of both the union and the administration for their inept immigration policies, the Washington Times reported.
The decision by the Federal Labor Relations Authority (FLRA) kicks some 7,600 members of the National ICE Council to the curb, leaving them without a collective bargaining agreement or union representation, according to members.
The umbrella AFGE moved to “disclaim” the ICE employees earlier this summer after the council filed a complaint “claiming gross mismanagement and hostile intentions at AFGE,” the Times wrote.
The Times reported that FLRA Regional Director Jessica S. Bartlett agreed to the union’s request in the Thursday decision, saying that ICE, under the direction of Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas agreed with AFGT to eliminate the council, a decision which smacks of political retribution.
“Based on AFGE’s disclaimer of interest, I find that it is appropriate to revoke the certification for the unit of non-professional employees,” Bartlett wrote.
That decision didn’t set well with Chris Crane, president of the council, who claims the Biden administration colluded with AFGE to gag the organization and its members.
“There is no doubt that ICE and DHS leadership worked in unison with corrupt union bosses to make this happen,” Crane said. “DHS and AFGE leadership both wanted desperately to silence ICE Council whistleblowers. Without a union, it’s doubtful those whistleblowers will have jobs much longer.”
What we apparently have right now is a rogue administration that is using the power of the presidency to target political opponents. For another example, see the FBI’s recent raid at the Mar-a-Lago home of former President Donald Trump.
Crane called the decision by the FLRA “the largest single act of whistleblower retaliation in United States history” due to the deprivation of union members of representation.
At one time, whistleblowers were the Democrats’ best friend, especially when they were “blowing whistles” against the prior administration. No longer, apparently.
“We did what we were supposed to do. We reported to the Department of Labor that union bosses at AFGE were allegedly spending dues money on prostitutes and strippers, sexually assaulting their own employees, engaging in payoffs and coverups, and other unlawful and egregious acts. It was supposed to be investigated. We were supposed to be protected,” Crane continued.
“Federal employees must be alerted immediately that they have no protection when reporting allegations to the Department of Labor. This can’t happen again.”
The Times wrote that neither AFGE nor ICE responded to requests for comment.
In filing to have the council kicked out last month, AFGE laid blame on ICE employees “for the bad blood,” while defining the disclaimer as acceding to the council’s wishes.
“It is clear that AFGE Council 118 remains steadfast in their desire to no longer be a part of AFGE or the broader labor movement,” said Everett Kelley, AFGE president.
“As a result, we have made the difficult decision to disclaim interest in this unit. While we had hoped to avoid this outcome, today’s action begins the process of granting Council 118’s request.”
While the council had sought autonomy with AFGE, the action taken by the union instead abolishes the council and leaves the members within that council unrepresented and back to square one.
After being removed from AFGE, ICE employees must now go through a completely new organization drive and renegotiate a new collective bargaining agreement. In other words, it appears this is a move do “defund” ICE without saying you’re defunding ICE.
The move to decertify the council comes after they have emerged as longtime critics of the direction of the agency, doing so under both the Trump and Biden administrations.
They have also been vocal in opposing radical proposals put forth by Mayorkas as he attempts to revamp ICE and its mission.
For example, just before the end of the Trump administration, the ICE Council signed an agreement with Trump’s Department of Homeland Administration which gave the council a say in policy changes proposed by the Biden administration. Sources say that administration “disapproved” of the agreement.
The ICE Council has long been at odds with the AFGE, arguing the union doesn’t act in the best interests of its members, including support of lawmakers who have called for abolishing ICE, potentially costing members their jobs.
The Council has also filed a number of complaints alleging mismanagement at AFGE, including a complaint filed with the Labor Department seeking an investigation into the union.
That complaint, reported by the Washington Times in June, included accusations AFGE leaders misappropriated union money to quash claims of racial discrimination and sexual harassment, as well as using union dues to pay for “strip clubs” and “pursuing prostitutes.”
When the complaint was filed, ICE Council officials sought whistleblower protection, fearing retaliation. Now just weeks later, it appears that retaliation has in fact occurred when AFGE filed notice of disclaimer seeking the dissolution of the council.
That development caught the attention of Rep. Michael Cloud (R-TX), who noted this appeared to be precisely the type of retaliation the council was concerned about.
Cloud sent a letter asking the Labor Department to investigate AFGE. He also asked AFGE to defend itself against the council’s accusations of AFGE mismanagement.
More disturbing is the fact that the FLRA banned the ICE Council from having any input regarding its fate, ruling that only AFGE and the Department of Homeland Security were the affected parties. Crane said that decision was an open invitation to let AFGE get away with retaliation.
“The FLRA absolutely knew this was whistleblower retaliation, but purposely prohibited the evidence from being introduced. They need to be investigated immediately. This investigation is a complete sham,” he said.
The Times reached out to the FLRA for comment, however they did not respond.

WASHINGTON, DC- If only the Department of (in)Justice were as interested in conducting investigations of people tied to the Biden crime family as they are going after Republican-led states. We won’t hold our collective breaths.
According to Breitbart, the DoJ is investigating potential civil rights violations related to the decision of Texas officials to do what the federal government refuses to…enforce our sovereign border. Under the initiative, the Texas National Guard has been conveyed arrest powers and illegal migrants have also been bused to Washington, D.C., according to public records. The program is costing the Lonestar State billions of dollars.
In a May email obtained by The Texas Tribune and ProPublica, a lawyer for the state confirmed the federal probe of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s attempts to stem the tide of illegal immigrants crossing into the state from Mexico. In addition, the state’s prison system also acknowledged a “formal investigation” was underway in a letter looking to withhold public records related to the plan, called “Operation Lone Star.”
Revelations of the federal probe come after a botched smuggling attempt resulted in 53 deaths of illegals attempting to gain entry in the trailer portion of a semi-truck. The deaths put a spotlight on the failures of Biden to control the border and the fruitless attempts of individual states to get a handle on it.
Last year, in response to complete inaction by Biden, Abbott implemented a massive law enforcement response on the border after seeing a complete lack of action by the Biden administration. The surge in law enforcement assets has resulted in increased arrests for crimes such as trespassing, low-level amounts of marijuana and other crimes which have little to do with border security. Some of those arrested have spent weeks in state jails.
According to the emails identified by Texas Department of Justice’s civil rights division, they are investigating at whether the Texas operation may have broken laws against discrimination based on race, color, or national origin by organizations receiving federal funds.
A spokesperson for the DoJ’s civil rights division refused to comment in response to a request from Breitbart. Likewise, a Texas Department of Public Safety spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment.
The Texas Department of Criminal Justice provided the DoJ with information about Operation Lone Star after receiving a request in March, according to spokeswoman Amanda Hernandez. She noted the state prison system “has and continues to follow all state and federal laws as the state of Texas responds to the ongoing crisis at the border.”
In April, Abbott began providing one-way transportation to Washington, D.C. for illegals, telling reporters he was sending the immigration issue, long ignored by the Biden administration, to the doorstep of Congress. At present, some 3,000 illegals have been dispatched to the nation’s capital at a cost of over $5 million.
The efforts have had little effect. Between January and May, authorities have stopped over half-a-million illegals crossing the border, an increase from 417,000 over the same period a year ago.
For more on our porous southern border, we invite you to read one of our prior pieces.
UNITED STATES – The Biden administration and its border czar, Kamala Harris, have essentially opened the southern border. Customs and Birder Protection have found themselves under resourced and overburdened.
If someone wants to come into this country, they can. And they can practically smuggle anything they want with them. Drugs, guns, people. The open border allows for all of that to be trafficked.
Now, a former Trump security chief believes that the next wave of potential terrorists seeking to inflict, harm, damage and death on American soil is already here and they are likely planning their next moves.
Mark Morgan, who was the Acting Commissioner of the CBP during the Trump administration, recently said on a podcast that he is concerned that the next terrorist attack on American soil will be perpetrated by someone who snuck across our southern border. Morgan has been pointing to the severe vulnerability that Biden’s immigration policies have created at the border since the 46th president has been in office.
"Almost everything that comes out of this administration about the southwest border is an absolute lie."
— Newsmax (@newsmax) January 26, 2022
He said that if current numbers hold steady, by the time Biden’s term in office (4 years) is done, we could see between 8-10 million illegal immigrants trying to cross our border.
“My worry is, is the next terrorist attack is already here being planned in the United States, and they got in through that 800,000 got-aways, because this administration has opened our borders wide open and handed operational control of our borders to the cartels,” Morgan said. “If you ask most Border Patrol agents, they’ll say that number is closer to a million.”
Alluding to state populations as a benchmark for the enormity of this situation, Morgan added:
“There are 9 states, nine separate states in this country that have 1 million or less citizens in its entire state. And more than that have gotten away under this administration.”
More disturbing than the sheer number of got-aways is the number among those that the FBI has information on.
In 2022, 15 apprehensions were made by CBP agents of individuals on the FBI Terror Screen Database.
Let us say this again.
Fifteen individuals attempted to cross the border into the US that were on known terror watchlists. If those 15 were captured, how many weren’t?
At least 42 have done so since January of 2021, when Biden took the reins from a Trump administration that was tough on immigration and was working to restrict the flow across our borders. Of the 23 captured in 2021, nearly half of them crossed in Texas.
And elected officials in the Lone Star State took notice.
42 people on the TERROR WATCHLIST have been arrested at our border since Biden was sworn in.
More importantly: how many MORE dangerous suspects were in the over 600K known gotaways who evaded law enforcement because Biden and Mayorkas REFUSE to secure our border? https://t.co/tkJWaKT84g
— Rep. Chip Roy Press Office (@RepChipRoy) April 19, 2022
That figure rose more than 200,000 since Roy’s tweet, and it is anticipated to have another significant increase once the June figures are released.
The harsh reality is that we don’t know the actual numbers.
A letter penned by Roy and 21 other Republican members of Congress to the ICE director, Alejandro Mayorkas, shows that at the very least, the 2021 numbers reported by ICE to congress came 5 months after the close of Fiscal Year 2021.
The report was more of a summary and left out many figures, tables and details that were provided over the four years of the Trump administration.
“…the recently released annual report is likened to a narrative driven summary of the agency’s many focuses and missions in FY21 and does not include more granular data that allows for a more precise analysis of ICE’s immigration enforcement activities in FY21.”
The letter raises a fundamental point:
“The concerning decision to release a less than seven-page summary in lieu of an enforcement report begs the question as to what the Biden Administration is hiding from Congress and the American people.”
These figures from the CBP and the lack of transparency from ICE lend credence to Morgan’s hypothesis.
He believes that we need to treat the terror threat within the border crisis with the same resolve that we have on every other front, saying that we need to take that approach to the transnational organizations and the cartels that are assisting terrorists into the country.
“If we do it the same way, the same structure, the same commitment and same will and courage, we can have the same level impact, in my opinion, of the transnational cartels as we do with the terrorist organizations,” he said.
It remains to be seen if the Biden team will ever actually take the crisis at our southern border seriously. The current trend says that it is not likely.
Report: Biden’s DHS planning to use taxpayer dollars to bus illegal border crossers to cities like Dallas, Houston, LA
WASHINGTON, D.C.- According to a report from the Washington Examiner, Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is considering paying to transport migrants from the border to cities like Dallas, Houston, and Los Angeles.
— gcourtney (@gcourtney3) June 10, 2022
A report, which was published on Wednesday, June 8th, indicates that the Biden administration is moving forward with a plan that will pay to transport migrants who have been apprehended for illegally crossing the southern border to larger cities in an effort to provide aid to overwhelmed border towns.
Within weeks, federal homeland security and emergency management agencies will start using taxpayer funds to move migrants from federal facilities along the southern border to shelters in Albuquerque, Los Angeles, and Houston.
Since Biden took over in office, the U.S.-Mexico border has seen more people attempting to cross the border than any other time in history and as encounters have soared under his leadership, so have the number of migrants released into the U.S. interior.
Instead of being sent back to their countries, all of these migrants, who have entered the country illegally, have been told to show up for court proceedings about their unlawful entry. Unfortunately, due to the astonishing numbers, these court dates will not take place for at least three to five years.

A DHS spokesperson told the Washington Examiner that “no decision has been made” regarding officially transporting migrants on taxpayer dollars. The spokesperson added:
“Should a decision be made, DHS will continue to closely coordinate with and support cities and NGOs to facilitate the movement of any individual encountered at the Southwest border who is placed into removal proceedings pending the next steps in their immigration proceedings.”
Since March of 2021, local and state officials have complained that local nonprofit and religious organizations could not keep up with helping, housing, and feeding the thousands of people being released into the U.S. interior daily.
This plan by DHS to bus or fly migrants to the largest cities in Texas, California, and New Mexico, comes shortly after Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) began busing migrants to Washington, D.C. in an effort to force the Biden administration to do more about securing the border.
Citing internal DHS documents, some agency officials have dubbed the scheme the “Abbott plan” after the Texas governor bused migrants to D.C. in an effort to protest the Biden administrations lax border policies.
The transport plan would allegedly take place alongside flights organized by the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Refugee Resettlement, which has been transporting unaccompanied children to suburban New York for several months.
According to GOP candidate Rob Astorino, the flights, which have been occurring under the cover of the night since October of 2021, have transported dozens of young children along with adult males. He said in a statement:
“I can tell you and we have video, that this is not just the little kids with backpacks being reunited, reunified with their families … it is an expansion of this program and what’s happening is we’re having on video, clearly seeing many teenage boys, late teen, early 20s, who are single adult men, who are getting off these flights.”

In May, Doug Nicholls, the mayor of Yuma, Arizona, told the Washington Examiner that he personally asked the Biden administration in a closed-door meeting to halt all border patrol releases of migrants in cities and town that have populations of less than 1 million.
Yuma’s main nonprofit organization has already begun busing migrants to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Phoenix because regional airports cannot accommodate as many migrants who are in need of flights in addition to the general public.
