“Uncharted territory”: US government corrupted “at a level not seen before” after Trump raid

The following includes editorial content which is the opinion of the writer.

WASHINGTON, DC- We have entered uncharted territory.

Never in modern American history have we seen the law enforcement, intelligence, media, business, and political apparatus weaponized against an opposition party to the extent we are currently seeing, moreover a former president and the front-runner to run against the incumbent dementia-ridden candidate in 2024.

Yet this is where we find ourselves.

We probably should have seen this coming.

After all, as soon as Donald Trump became the Republican nominee in 2016, and probably before that, the deep state undertook a scheme…a mission if you will…to take out this brash outsider who promised to “drain the [Washington, DC] swamp.”

It was that threat…no that promise, that spurred that very swamp into action. The rest is history.

From the Russia collusion hoax through two impeachments, the bogus “January 6 ‘insurrection’” to allegations of classified documents being removed from the White House, it reached a climax of sorts this week when the Department of Justice through its “special police” the FBI conducted a raid on the Florida home of Donald Trump, who announced the raid himself, saying his home had been raided by a “large group of FBI agents.”

Keep in mind that the FBI has more than enough to keep itself busy when it isn’t oppressing Jan. 6 protestors or targeting school parents. Hunter Biden, son of the president, appears to be knee-deep in nefarious foreign business dealings which have also implicated the sitting president.

Yet the DOJ looks the other way.

The FBI could be investigating the protesters who have been gathering in front of the homes of Supreme Court justices for months, in violation of federal law.

Maybe…just maybe…they could be looking into Jeffrey Epstein’s “Lolita Express” which saw young girls being exploited in a sex-trafficking ring.

Perhaps they could be investigating the scores of targeted attacks on family planning centers and churches by pro-abortion Marxists. But no, they are targeting the former President of the United States.

“Nothing like this has ever happened to a president of the United States before,” Mr. Trump said in a statement. “After working and cooperating with the relevant government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate,” the Daily Signal reported.

The raid on Mr. Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate represented an unprecedented attack on our Republic. For if the FBI can do this to a former (and perhaps future) president, what can they do to ordinary American citizens?

We’ve had a taste of that by how the January 6 defendants have been treated, in a manner more reminiscent of the Soviet gulags of old than the criminal justice system in what is (or was) the most advanced country in the world.

Perhaps what is most disturbing about what happened to President Trump is the complete lack of concern by the ruling class…the Democrats…whose hatred for the former president trumps any concern for our treasured institutions.

They are drunk with power, despite holding the thinnest of majorities in the House and Senate. The gloating by Democrats and their sycophants in the media has been nauseating.

It was left to Republicans to weigh in on how dangerous this most recent development is for our country.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a potential opponent of Trump’s for the Republican presidential nomination wrote on Twitter:

“The raid of MAL [Mar-a-Lago] is another escalation in the weaponization of federal agencies against the Regime’s political opponents, while people like Hunter Biden get treated with kid gloves. Now the Regime is getting another 87k IRS agents to wield against its adversaries? Banana Republic.”

Merriam-Webster defines “Banana Republic as follows– a small dependent country usually of the tropics; especially :one run despotically.” Close, except for the small part from the tropics. US is definitely being run despotically.

Wikipedia: “A banana republic is a country with an economy of state capitalism whereby the country is operated as a private commercial enterprise for the exclusive profit of the ruling class.”

Sounds pretty close.

Trump continued in his statement:

“Such an assault could only take place in broken third-world countries. Sadly, America has now become one of those countries, corrupt at a level not seen before. They even broke into my safe! What is the difference between this and Watergate, where operatives broke into the Democrat National Committee?”

As has become typical with the “swamp” or “deep state,” the New York Times through “unnamed sources” was tipped off about the raid and advised it was because the former president allegedly had “classified material” at his home.

Someone who was allegedly “familiar with” the contents of boxes the former president allegedly brought to his home claimed there were “many pages of classified documents.”

Trump also slammed the Department of Justice, which refused to take any action against his 2016 opponent, Hillary Clinton.

“Hillary Clinton was allowed to delete and acid wash 33,000 emails AFTER they were subpoenaed by Congress,” Trump said. “Absolutely nothing has happened to hold her accountable.”

Clinton claimed in 2016 that the emails “were personal emails and not official.” Still, she deleted them after getting a subpoena but a deep-state rat, former FBI director James Comey, made the executive decision to not charge her, a decision which was not his to make.

The raid on Trump’s home was met with anger by GOP House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, who said in a statement that the DOJ has “reached an intolerable state of weaponized politicization.”

He promised:

“When Republicans take back the House, we will conduct immediate oversight of this department, follow the facts, and leave no stone unturned.”

He also admonished Garland, warning him to “preserve your documents and clear your calendar.”

Other GOP lawmakers also weighed in, among them Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL):

“The FBI isn’t doing anything about the groups vandalizing Catholic Churches, firebombing Pro-Life groups or threatening Supreme Court Justices.

“But they find time to raid Mar A Lago.”

Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN):

“If the FBI can raid the home of a former US President, imagine what 87,000 more IRS agents will do to you.”

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R):

“The FBI raid on President Trump’s home is an unprecedented political weaponization of the Justice Department. They’ve been after President Trump as a candidate, as President, and now as a former President. Using the criminal justice system in this manner is un-American.”

Sen Rand Paul (R-KY):

“The @FBI raid on President Trump was approved by Director Wray, who also claimed that the illegal FISA warrants used to spy on Trump were constitutional.

“Today’s raid is outrageous and unjust, but predictable.”

Rep. Dan Bishop (R-NC):

“The FBI and DOJ are acting as the political enforcers of the Democrat Party.

“The FBI must immediately release the information used to obtain the warrant. Garland and Wray must immediately come before @JudiciaryGOP.

“Republicans must smash the FBI into a million pieces.”

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) issued a lengthy Twitter thread:

Meanwhile, conservative think tank the Heritage Foundation’s president Kevin Roberts issued a statement as follows:

“The raid on Mar-a-Lago represents yet another example of the federal government weaponizing law enforcement to punish political enemies, silence critics, and send a message to those whom it views as enemies,” he said. “The Biden administration and the D.C. swamp are making it very clear that they will use all the power of the state to intimidate anyone who stands in their way.

“If they think they can treat a former president this way, imagine what they think they can do to an average American,” Roberts continued. “Such actions could only be justified based on overwhelming evidence of wrongdoing. The FBI needs to immediately explain its reckless actions and [President Joe] Biden needs to answer the question of whether he ordered this raid.”

Thus far, the White House has denied any foreknowledge of the raid.

However it is unbelievable that such an unprecedented action by the FBI would have taken place without the knowledge of, or probably the consent of, Biden. That stretches the bounds of credibility.

We are truly in unprecedented times in the country we love and call home. While many of us knew it was going to be a troubling four years with Biden at the helm, we couldn’t in our worst nightmares fathom what is taking place.

The only hope is that Republicans take control of both houses of Congress in November and start holding these Marxists accountable for what they’re doing to our country.
