Bombshell: TSA allows illegal immigrants to use arrest warrants as ID at airport checkpoints

WASHINGTON, DC- For anyone who has been gawked at and patted down by TSA agents at one of America’s airports, the following is probably enough to make your blood boil.

This comes about as we learn that a number of illegals released by Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) have been allowed to use copies of their arrest warrants as proof of identification to board aircraft, Town Hall reports.

This has gotten the attention of Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO), who grilled the head of the TSA during a Senate hearing this past week.

TSA Administrator David Pekoske testified that around 1,000 illegals had used either arrest warrants or deportation orders to travel on US airlines, neither document of which contains photo identification as the rest of US flyers have been required to present in order to fly.

“How does this policy comport with 13 USC 1325, which criminalizes improper entry into the United States by an alien?” Hawley pressed.

“These individuals that have these arrest warrants, those arrest warrants were issued by the Border Patrol or a Customs officer. They serve as a beginning to our identity verification process.

So you can’t walk up to a checkpoint, wave that form, and then you can go right through into screening. We go through a process to verify you are the person you claim to be,” said Pekoske.

Continuing, Pekoske started to explain, “We aren’t looking at whether a person is legal or illegal in the country. Our function is to…” when he was cut off by Hawley.

“Why not?” Hawley asked.

“Because our role is to make sure that people that might pose a risk to transportaton, that’s significant enough to either require enhanced screening or to not allow them to fly,” Pekoske continued, while adding that American citizens break the law and fly all the time.

“We look for things that related to transportation security,” Pekoske said.

In a statement to Fox News, a TSA spokesperson said:

“For non-citizens and non-U.S. nationals who do not otherwise have acceptable forms of ID for presentation at security checkpoints, TSA may also accept certain DHS-issued forms, including ICE Form I-200 (Warrant for Arrest of an Alien).”

This all initially came to light when it was discovered late last year by Rep. Lance Gooden (R-TX) that the TSA was permitting “unknown and unvetted” illegal aliens to board commercial flights in the United States, as reported by the Daily Caller.

The Western Journal reports that Gooden’s office received a whistleblower report in November, which led to his office sending a letter to the TSA on December 15, a news release said.

The Congressman said allowing illegals to use arrest warrants as identification is “totally crazy.”

The TSA told Gooden at the time that arrest warrants are able to be validated using an “alien identification number” which is cross-checked against Customs and Border Protection information.

“All passengers whose identity is verified through alternate procedures receive additional screening before being allowed into the secure area of the airport,” a statement from TSA said.

Still, Gooden was nonplussed and railed against the policy, claiming it is putting American citizens at risk.

“President Biden is putting millions of Americans at risk by allowing known criminals and potential terrorists to fly on U.S. airlines,” Gooden said in a statement at the time.

“A criminal alien shouldn’t be allowed to board a plane after presenting a warrant for their arrest. They should be detained and brought before a judge.”

In a letter written to Gooden by Pekoske at that time, he said:

“TSA is committed to ensuring all travelers, regardless of immigration status, are pre-screened before they arrive to the airport, have their pre-screening status and identification verified at security checkpoints, and receive appropriate screening based on risk before entering the sterile area of the airport.”

All of this comes as Biden has allowed record numbers of illegals into the U.S. with no end in sight.

DIG DEEPER

TEXAS- On January 21st, the Fox Business Network’s “Evening Edit,” featured Texas Department of Public Safety Lt. Christopher Olivarez.

During his appearance, he stated that by TSA allowing illegal immigrants to use arrest warrants as identification at airport security checkpoints, criminal organizations will take full advantage of it by having gang members come across and try to board planes so they can make it further into the country.

He added, “and that is a national security threat.”

Olivarez said that someone can get on a plane using an arrest warrant as a form of identification and end up anywhere within the United States. He added:

“And the thing is that you’re allowing an arrest warrant as a form of an ID, that right there alone, I mean, that should not be taking place.

I mean, an arrest warrant … that individual should be placed under arrest, not be allowed to board a plane.”

The Lt. continued:

“But again, that’s going to be an opportunity these criminal organizations are going to take full advantage of. They’re going to have these criminal gangs come across and try to board these planes so they can make it further into the country.

So, that is a national security threat. And again, that’s what we’re going to see play out this year, and it’s off to a bad start.”

On Friday, January 21st, Fox News reported that TSA confirmed they are allowing illegal immigrants to use arrest warrants as an alternative form of ID to board airplanes. The TSA spokesperson told Fox News:

“For non-citizens and non-U.S. nationals who do not otherwise have acceptable forms of ID for presentation at security checkpoints, TSA may also accept certain DHS-issued forms, including ICE Form 1-200 (Warrant for Arrest of an Alien).”

Bombshell: TSA allows illegal immigrants to use arrest warrants as ID at airport checkpoints

Reportedly, that refers to a civil immigration arrest warrant, not a criminal arrest warrant. The agency added that the document will then be validated via an “alien identification number” being checked against a number of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) databases. The spokesperson said:

“All passengers whose identity is verified through alternate procedures receive additional screening before being allowed into the secure area of the airport.”

The use of arrest warrants as ID came in response to a congressional query by Rep. Lance Gooden (R-TX), who has been investigating the process by which migrants are brought into the country.

Back in November 2021, Gooden’s office received a packet given to migrants via a whistleblower.

That packet reportedly included flight information, copies of the Notice to Appear from CBP, a list of pro bono legal service providers, maps of major cities in the U.S., and information and legal assistance in Spanish.

Gooden has described the use of arrest warrants as ID by the TSA as “totally crazy.” He said in a statement:

“A criminal alien shouldn’t be allowed to board a plane after presenting a warrant for their arrest. They should be detained and brought before a judge.”

On December 15, 2021, Gooden and other Republican members of Congress submitted their inquiry about the arrest warrants being used as ID. The letter said, in part:

“We have serious concerns TSA is actively assisting illegal immigrants without proper identification travel throughout the country. Therefore, we are requesting TSA provide assistance in identifying and preventing the unprecedented flow of illegal immigrants into and throughout the United States and the role TSA has played in facilitating this influx of migrants.”

They criticized the Biden administration for releasing at least 160,000 illegal immigrants and observed that there were over 1.6 million apprehensions by border patrol agents in Fiscal Year 2021. Most of those arrests, about 1.15 million were in Texas.

WASHINGTON, D.C.- According to reports, on Wednesday, November 17th, Republican Texas Rep. Lance Gooden and a group of fellow House Republicans sent a letter to Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Administrator David Pekoske demanding answers as to why migrants are being allowed to fly without proper identification.

The Daily Caller has obtained the letter as well as other letters Republicans are sending to various U.S. corporations involved in what they believe are complicit in human smuggling.

The letters initially came from a whistleblower packet received by Gooden, which reportedly confirmed that U.S. non-profits are undertaking large-scale organized operations to move migrants throughout the United States.

The whistleblower packet allegedly details how to go to the airport, how to get past TSA without any form of identification, how to enroll children in schools, and how to assimilate into different communities.

Gooden stated that he was contacted by a whistleblower from San Diego, California, who gave him details about the information the non-profits have been providing to the migrants.

On Monday, November 15th, during an appearance on “Fox & Friends.” Gooden said after receiving the information, he hopped on a plane and discovered that abandoned hotels in the California city were being utilized as shelters for the migrants.

Some of the locations he mentioned included The Four Points by Sheraton [San Diego] where rates start at $159 per night, a Wyndham, and a Ramada Inn. Gooden added:

“I managed to get in the gates, I demanded entry once and was refused. I talked a guard into letting me in on another occasion and when I was in there I saw busses pulling up, probably about 100 migrants over an hour got off of these busses.”

Gooden said that upon arrival the migrants were “welcomed by people with open arms” before being processed, tested for COVID-19, and then handed information packets. He added:

“This packet is what I received from the whistleblower a few weeks ago. And these packets detail how to go to the airport, how to get past TSA without any identification, how to enroll your children in schools and assimilate in whatever community you desire to go in.”

The Texas lawmaker said he spoke to TSA about the packets and was informed that migrants sometimes show up with “very convincing letters” and in some cases are let on the airplane before anyone else. An armed security officer reportedly told Gooden that migrants are often already on the plan when he boards early to tell the pilot of his presence.

The Republican lawmakers sent letters to hotel companies, such as Wyndham Hotels & Resorts and Marriott International, and airline companies such as American Airlines, Southwest Airlines and United Airlines.

They also sent letters to Facebook and TikTok.

In the eight letters, the lawmakers demanded answers to a list of different questions based on their policies and screening procedures. The letters were spearheaded by Gooden and signed by Illinois Rep. Mary Miller and West Virginia Rep. David McKinley. Gooden said in a statement to the Daily Caller:

“It should alarm every American that non-profit organizations are helping illegal migrants, many of whom are unknown to U.S. law enforcement, board commercial flights to a destination of their choice without proper identification. This creates significant national security risks when millions of Americans are traveling for the Thanksgiving holiday.”

He added:

“The American people deserve transparency and accountability from TSA and other complicit organizations.”

Reportedly, Gooden’s office set up a tip inbox for anyone with information on the evolving situation. Gooden indicated that the biggest propagators of this operation were the Catholic charities of San Diego and the Jewish Family Association, non-profits with prominent donors, including AT&T, Bank of America and the federal government. Gooden stated:

“The state of California, U.S. corporation and non-profits, and the Biden administration are facilitating human smuggling and child trafficking on our country.

They are allowing these migrants, many of whom are unknown to U.S. law enforcement agencies, to board commercial aircraft, creating one of the greatest threats to U.S. national security since Sept. 11, 2001. It is time for transparency and accountability for everyone involved in exacerbating this crisis.”

Former Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Mark Morgan reviewed the packet from Gooden and said it confirmed what he has heard from CBP officials that migrants are being released into the U.S. without identification. Morgan said:

“We know that they’re dropping their IDs on the banks of Mexico to come across and say, ‘Oh, I don’t have any ID so it’ll make it easier for them to get across.”

He added:

“So think about it, we do not know definitively who these individuals [are] that are actually boarding planes going to every state in this country. If that is not alarming to every American citizen, then I don’t know what is.”
