Three escaped inmates, all considered dangerous, are on the run. They escaped over the weekend from the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center.

A manhunt was underway for these three escaped prisoners, one of which is a convicted murderer. Police warned the folks in the area to be careful.

From a FoxNews report, the sheriff says they escaped at 10:16 pm Saturday night but it’s not clear how they know the exact time of the escape. They were identified by the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office as Michael Elliot, 24, convicted of theft; Walshea Mitchell, 35, in prison for armed robbery; and Willie Ethridge, 34, for murder and armed robbery.

To get outside the prison, the three inmates had to scale two fences both with rolls of razor-wire at the top and might have been helped by their clothing to get past those fences. Two of these men were wearing black sweatpants and sweatshirts while the third was wearing gray sweatpants and gray long sleeves shirt.

Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office said in a statement: “At the time of their escape, Elliot, Mitchell, and Ethridge were not armed but they should be considered dangerous and extreme caution should be used if seen,” They also said:  “All three escapees have been entered into the National Crime Information Center as Wanted Persons-Escape with Caution.”

The Sheriff department continues following up new leads. They gave a warning that if anyone sees these men, do not confront them but simply call 911.
