It all started after a pop star attacked the Salvation Army and threatened the Dallas cowboys.  Now, thousands of messages of support are pouring in after an article from Friday night went viral featuring America’s most patriotic rock star.

“Dave Bray USA is known for his unapologetic love for America and support for veterans and law enforcement.  Bring him to the NFL and I’ll start watching again.”

Here’s the deal.

“Not on my watch.”

That’s the message from United States Veteran and rock star Dave Bray of Dave Bray USA, over an attack on the Salvation Army by pop star Ellie Goulding.

Dave Bray, known for his dedication and support to the law enforcement and military community, doubled down on American values long ago.  And he’s just warming up.

Goulding is threatening to cancel her performance at this year’s Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game because the team has ties with the Salvation Army and its annual Christmastime giving campaign.

“These celebrities think we, as regular Americans, care what they think,” wrote one woman to LET.  “We care about men and women who fight for our country instead of being keyboard warriors.  Get rid of her and bring in this rock star.”

Goulding vowed to drop her piece of the show unless the Christian-based organization makes a donation specifically to an LGBTQ group.

“This is absolutely ridiculous,” said Bray.  “Americans are sick and tired of having the agendas of the Hollywood elite shoved down their throats.  Shut up and sing.  Actually – scratch that.  I’ll do it.”

Bray has a plan that’s a heck of a lot better than trying to change the values of an organization.  It’s him.

“Hey Cowboys – forget her ultimatum.  How about this one?  Fire her. Hire me.  I’ll rock the hell out of that stadium… and I’ll donate all of the profits to The Salvation Army.”

YES. 

“My music is a continuation of my military service in the US NAVY as an (FMF) Corpsman for the USMC,” said Bray.  

To him, it’s all about respect.

“My music honors those who serve this country…the families who serve along with them and those who’ve paid the ultimate price for our freedom.”

This year’s holiday game pits the Cowboys against the Buffalo Bills, and it marks the annual kickoff for the nearly 130-year-old Salvation Army’s famous Red Kettle Campaign.

The donations benefit the homeless and provides toys for poor children.

“While this pseudo-celebrity wears her thousand dollar shoes and tries to force feed her elite ideologies down the throats of Americans who just want to help others… she’s actually trying to hurt the very people in America we should be protecting and fighting for.”

For more than two decades, thanks to Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones and his family, the Salvation Army has launched its yearly fundraising campaign during the Cowboys’ Thanksgiving Day halftime show.

“Since 1997, the Jones family has dedicated the Cowboys’ annual Thanksgiving Day halftime performance as a national showcase to kick off The Salvation Army’s iconic Red Kettle Campaign,” the Cowboy’s site explains.

They added:

“The team’s association with network television spawns a donation of millions of dollars in airtime every year to present nationally televised entertainment extravaganzas that have created a beloved holiday tradition.”

 

Bray said the dedication of the Jones family – and how Jerry has also doubled down on American values – embodies the spirit of both the team and the holidays.

“Here we have a man and his family that could have caved years ago.  Instead, they’ve demonstrated their love of country by standing strong. Quite frankly, he’s one of the most incredible patriots I’ve ever seen.”

The debate all started by this post from Goulding herself wearing a Salvation Army apron and expressing support for the non-profit group and its mission to help the less fortunate.

“The Salvation Army annually helps more than 23 million Americans overcome poverty, addiction and economic hardships through a range of social services,” Goulding wrote.

For a minute, she stood behind them.

“By providing food for the hungry, emergency relief for disaster survivors, rehabilitation for those suffering from drug and alcohol abuse, and clothing and shelter for people in need. I sat and spoke to several people who had come in from the bitter cold for some food (they serve to over 150 per day here) , warmth and perhaps a chat with one of the volunteers.”

But here’s what happened next.

Goulding caved to pressure from LGBT groups.  They say the Salvation Army is a “homophobic” and otherwise bigoted organization, largely because of the group’s Christian roots.

“Dave Bray is known for his love of God and those who hold the thin blue line.  Why are we listening to people like this who don’t stand for the flag or American values?” wrote a police wife.

As a result, Goulding now says she’ll cancel her upcoming performance unless the Salvation Army “very quickly make[s] a solid, committed pledge or donation to the LGBTQ community.”

“Upon researching this, I have reached out to The Salvation Army and said that I would have no choice but to pull out unless they very quickly make a solid, committed pledge or donation to the LGBTQ community,” Goulding wrote.

She thinks her values are more important than people who are actually helping change lives through more than just words.

“I am a committed philanthropist as you probably know, and my heart has always been in helping the homeless, but supporting an anti-LGBTQ charity is clearly not something I would ever intentionally do. Thank you for drawing my attention to this.”

In response, here’s what the Salvation Army had to say:

“An individual’s sexual or gender identity, religion, or lifestyle has no bearing on our willingness to provide service. We stand firmly behind our mission to meet human needs in [Jesus’] name without discrimination.”

Bray firmly stands behind the Salvation Army – and America.

“Why are we NOT celebrating America during Thanksgiving….?  Instead we give these platforms to ungrateful artists who would just as soon stomp on a flag.”

Bray pointed out that Colin Kaepernick and company have succeeded in their mission, as is evidenced.

“Colin Kaepernick and the NFL have sold the American people out….they’ve succeeded in eradicating the time honored American tradition of televising the National Anthem before the games in order to sell the coveted pre-kickoff spots and most highly watched part of the games as advertising gold.”

He said he’ll work with the Dallas Cowboys to fix that.

“It would be nice for them to show some patriotism and gratitude back towards the American people who built the NFL and honor those who provide the veil of freedom for them to do it.”

As for the show?  He said he’d be honored to stand beside Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys for an incredibly important mission:

“We have an opportunity to bring God and honor back to American football… and help a lot of people at the same time.”

Finally.  Something that will get us to put football back on television in our houses again.

Dave worked alongside our team at LET and Concerns of Police Survivors, along with the Manchester, CT police department earlier this year to create the tribute above for our fallen officers.

“If ‘We The People’ don’t start speaking up about how WE feel about these issues then the ones with the biggest platforms are the ones who get heard,” he said.

And if the Cowboys DO bring in Bray?

He said that he will fill the stadium with so much patriotism that America will want to make Dallas the new capital.
