And they wonder why nobody takes them seriously…
There is a “university” called Freedom University. According to the executive director of the Georgia university, “borders are not completely legitimate, citizenship is ‘ridiculous,’ and the nation-state itself has no place in the future.” Oh boy, where to start?
What is Freedom University you ask? It prides itself on exclusively serving illegal alien students and advocating a progressive stance on immigration…almost sounds like a Democratic debate.
According to the website Campus Reform, St. Olaf College hosted Freedom University’s executive director, Dr. Laura Soltis, along with an alum and current Freedom student to deliver a talk on “Solidarity In a New ICE Age,” which Campus Reform was invited to attend. Ah, we see what you did there…ICE age, Immigration and Customs Enforcement…clever little socialists there.
The group began their presentation by giving some background on the work of the “university.” Freedom was founded in response to the state of Georgia’s policy which dictates that illegal aliens are entitled to free K-12 education, however, may not attend the state’s public universities.
Soltis and her comrades explained that Freedom University refers to itself as F.U. and brands this slogan on its official school T-shirts. Witty little snowflakes there.
The “university” is known for taking what they refer to as “direct action” against the Georgia state government. These actions include civil disobedience and teachers accompanying illegal aliens risk[ing] arrest.” Like a badge of honor, Soltis, who must be a Berkeley graduate bragged about her arrest record, as well as the arrest record of the “school’s” community engagement coordinator.
The alumnus who showed up, Rafael A. was not willing to give the “school’s” location, saying that it was only released upon admission.
Soltis was anxious to talk about the school’s anti-citizenship ideology.
She said that the definition of citizenship is “completely arbitrary” and only to the fact that “we happen to be born within these man-made borders, right? What a completely ridiculous way to define citizenship, right?” Scary to think that these people actually breed.
“I urge us to think creatively and courageously about a world in which there aren’t borders, right? John Lennon sang about this in ‘Imagine,’” she said, and then asked the audience “to think of ourselves not as citizens of the United States.”
Did you know that Law Enforcement Today has a private new home for those who support emergency responders and veterans? It’s called LET Unity, and it’s where we share the untold stories of those patriotic Americans. Every penny gets reinvested into giving these heroes a voice. Check it out today.
See, this is what is confusing about these illegal aliens. They walk through deserts to get here, cross the Rio Grande at risk of personal safety, dodge drug cartels, want everything America has to offer but don’t want to assimilate to our way of life. It makes zero sense.
She then showed an image of the U.S./Mexico border on a projector and told the audience to “look at how kind of silly it looks.” This lady is quite obviously not a history major.
“This border has created so much anguish and pain and separation among families, but another world is possible,” she said. “Nation-states are relatively new for humanity, right? They should not exist, [and] they aren’t necessary in the future.”
One of her radical ideas is to give illegal aliens a new, politicized identity via Freedom University.
“For undocumented folks, they no longer think they’re illegal or criminals, but it becomes a new political identity which they can organize around and find a sense of pride in who they are,” she said.
During a Q&A, Campus Reform asked Soltis if F.U. recognized the legitimacy of borders, immigration law, or agencies like ICE which enforce said immigration law.
She said that we are “living on stolen land” taken from Native Americans, then said that she “partially” recognizes the legal legitimacy of borders, but prefers the “natural” variety formed by “mountain ranges” and “rivers.”
She claims that citizenship is a “social construct.”
Soltis refused to answer specifically about the “school’s” stance concerning immigration law or enforcement agencies. She did however, later on in the Q&A to sing a verse of the song “This Land is Your Land” that the question brought to mind. Campus Reform did not specify the verse.
Thankfully, this institution of wackos and illegal aliens is not an accredited school. According to it’s website it offers a collection of services to illegals such as “college preparation classes, college and scholarship application assistance, and movement leadership training for undocumented students.”
The event at St. Olaf was sponsored by the school’s religion department (no surprise there), the Lutheran Center and Taylor Center for Equity and Inclusion—none of which responded to Campus Reform’s requests for comment.
Hopefully, this “school” does not receive any type of government assistance or is classified as a “non-profit.” Typically, institutions such as this slam America out of one end while reaching out with the other.
And if that’s not bad enough, take a look at this new proposal from Democrats.
There is a bill that has been proposed in Congress called the “New Way Forward Act.”
This bill would accomplish several things, among them making deportation of criminals harder, would decriminalize illegal immigration, and would return criminal immigrants back into the U.S.
Immigration experts and House Republican leadership have slammed the bill, referring to it as possibly the most “radical” legislation in U.S. history.
House GOP Conference chair Liz Cheney, the Federation for American Immigration Reform, and the Center for Immigration Studies spoke to the Daily Caller about the impact of the bill.
The bill was introduced by Illinois Rep. Jesus Garcia (D), along with several other progressive members of the House in December of last year without much of an ordeal.
The proposal calls for the decriminalization of illegal immigration, would make it more difficult to deport convicted criminal illegal immigrants, empower immigration judges to nullify deportation orders, and also calls for the return of previously deported illegal immigrants. God help us if somehow the Democrats ever get Congress and the White House at the same time.
The legislation has drawn 43 co-sponsors, which has drawn the attention of Republicans, as well as Fox News’ Tucker Carlson, who dove into the 4,400-word bill on Thursday.
He compared the ramifications, saying if passed, they could have as much of an impact on the country as the Constitution.
Carlson isn’t an alarmist and he does his homework.
Lawmakers are trying to make life worse for people across America. The New Way Forward Act protects serious felons from deportation and gives previously deported criminals a “right to come home” at your expense. And that’s not all. https://t.co/Bo71Yy0RON

Friday night, Tucker had Raul Reyes, an NBC contributor who supports the bill, on his program to discuss why on Earth this is a good idea.
Immigration experts and Liz Cheney spoke to the Daily Caller News Foundation.
“The New Way Forward Act is arguably the most radical piece of immigration legislation in American history. The act shields criminal illegal aliens from deportation, decriminalizes illegal entry, and creates a pathway for deported illegal aliens to return back to the U.S.,” said Matthew Tragesser, spokesman for the Federation of American Immigration Reform (FAIR).
“It’s clear that House Democrats care more about illegal aliens than law-abiding Americans and view criminals as victims.”
