This isn’t education: First grade teacher tells students that doctors “guess” child’s gender at birth

The following contains editorial content which is the opinion of the writer.

ROSLINDALE, MA- If anyone saw the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie “Kindergarten Cop,” you remember a scene in which one of the young whippersnappers instructs John Kimball, the character played by Schwarzenegger in basic human anatomy: “Boys have a penis, girls have a vagina.”

Little did we know back then that gender isn’t a matter of anatomy or biology but instead is based on a “guess” by the doctor who delivers the child during childbirth.

At least that’s what a clearly misguided Boston-area teacher believes. Ray Skyler, who teaches first grade at Brooke Roslindale School in the suburb of Roslindale, claims. We would love to slam this woke take on gender “assignment” at birth as yet another example of public schools failing students, but in this case, Brooke Roslindale is a “charter” school.

According to Breitbart, Skyler, who shouldn’t be within 20 miles of first-graders, told his classroom that she is transgender, as if four and five-year old’s know what that is…or for that matter, if they should know what that is.

Skyler revealed her sexual identity to the children on an “Identity Share” Zoom call, which included kindergarteners, first graders and second graders. One must consider that if a stranger were telling young children about their sexual identity outside of a school setting, they would (and should) end up in handcuffs. In a 2022 classroom? Anything flies apparently.

Skyler was introduced by the school’s assistant principal, Sarah Hammond, who told the children in making the introduction for his “I am” statement:

“Remember: Your job during the Identity Share is to be listening really carefully so that you can learn something new about [Mr.] Skyler.”

“So something that’s really cool and unique about who I am is that I am transgender,” Skyler said. She is a female identifying as a male, in case you’re wondering. [emphasis added] “So when babies are born, the doctor looks at them and they make a guess about whether the baby is a boy or girl based on what they look like. [emphasis added] Most of the time that guess is 100% correct; there are no issues whatsoever, but sometimes the doctor is wrong; the doctor makes an incorrect guess.”

So, the doctor sees the baby come out with a penis and guesses it’s a boy? Sometimes the doctor is wrong? Funny, during the whole COVID thing, Americans were browbeaten to “follow the science” where the virus was concerned. Issues of basic biology, genetics, and anatomy? Pffft.

Oh, it goes on.

“When a doctor makes a correct guess, that’s when a person is called cisgender,” she continued. “When a doctor’s guess is wrong, that’s when they are transgender.”

“So I’m a man, but when I was a baby the doctors told my parents I was a girl,” Skyler told the students. “And so my parents gave me a name that girls typically have; the bought me clothes that girls typically wear, and until I was eighteen years old everyone thought I was a girl.

“And this was super, super uncomfortable for me because I knew that wasn’t right,” she continued. “So when I was eighteen, I told my family and my friends that I’m really a boy and it was like this huge weight had been lifted off of my shoulders and I had the freedom to be who I truly am.”

Skyler called the situation “super-challenging,” however she said she is “super-proud to be transgender.”

As a point of information, a certain staff writer I know personally thought he was Superman when he was five years old. One step on a board with a nail sticking out of it to show how “super” he was and that five-year-old learned quickly he was not Superman. Children at that age are way too young to grasp anything remotely as confusing as this whole gender identity BS.

Over the past several years, we have seen a number of states across the country raise the juvenile age up to 17 because there was a claim that teenagers’ brains were not yet fully developed enough to differentiate between right and wrong. Yet people such as Skyler expect young children to understand “gender choice” and in some cases, believe children of that age can also “choose” what gender they wish to identify as.

Skyler also spoke out in Facebook posts about the recently passed Florida law, that prevent children from being groomed by sexual deviates, including being indoctrinated into the whole trans-ideology. Because children between the ages of five and nine should be learning how to read and right, not being brainwashed.

“Whenever there are bills introduced targeting trans youth, we always hear the argument that these laws are ‘protecting’ their peers and ‘preventing confusion.’”

Well, yes.

Skyler says she has had a number of “conversations with many young children…about what being transgender is, and never once have I been met with any fear or confusion. I’ve been the recipient of a group hug! Children just get it, it’s as simple as that.”

We honestly don’t even know where to start in addressing that last comment. However if a straight male started talking to children about their sexual exploits, they would have a nice 6×8 cell waiting for them. Instead, we’re expected to embrace these folks.

Hard pass.

CLAY COUNTY, FL – Florida parents are suing their daughter’s school district following their daughter’s suicide attempts in the wake of secret gender identity meetings with a school counselor.

The lawsuit was filed in federal court on Monday, January 24 by the Child & Parental Rights Campaign , a Georgia-based “nonprofit public-interest law firm founded to defend parents’ rights to shield their children from the impact of gender identity ideology.”

The complaint, according to the Daily Mail, was initiated by parent Wendell Perez, who has stated that a school counselor at Paterson Elementary School, Destiney Washington, held secret meetings every week with Perez’ daughter about her supposed “gender identity crisis,” but did not inform her parents of the meetings, nor the so-called crisis.

Furthermore, the complaint alleges that the Washington kept the information from the parents because of their Catholic faith.

In addition, the lawsuit claims that “school leaders encouraged other students and staff to refer to the young girl as a boy and even gave her a new name.”

The Daily Mail reports further:

“The identity changes allegedly increased bullying on campus, which resulted in a level of ‘distress escalated to the point of attempting suicide at school,’ and the girl attempted to take her life on both January 4 and 5, according to the lawsuit.”

The lawsuit names several Clay County School District members, including Superintendent Davis Broskie, Paterson Elementary School Principal John O’Brian, Assistant Principal Courtney Schumacher and school counselor Destiney Washington.

According to a press release from the Child & Parental Rights Campaign, obtained by Breitbart, parents Wendell and Maria Perez were summoned to the school and notified of the gender issues only after their daughter’s second suicide attempt by hanging at school.

The release read:

“When they arrived at the school, the parents were kept waiting for 20 minutes. Eventually, they met with the principal, the assistant principal, a Clay County Police Officer, and the counselor.

“They were then informed that their 12-year-old daughter had tried to commit suicide at school, twice in two days.”

Also according to the release, when the Perezes asked for an explanation as to why the suicide attempts had occurred:

“The school counselor responded that it was because of the child’s gender identity issue and that they knew her parents would not be in agreement because of their Catholic Christian beliefs.”

Re-Fund the Police

Wendell Perez told the Daily Mail:

“We’re talking about the staff from school this information and developing a plan of several sessions with my daughter, for months, talking about issues that are related and that the parents need to be involved.”

He continued:

“They basically created a double life for my daughter.’

“We’re not talking about an isolated incident that a little kid mentioned something.

“They acted – they acted on it, for months. What is next? If we let them do that, what is next?”

Perez also compared school district authorities to sex offenders, saying:

“If we allow this to happen, we are admitting that the sex offenders – the models operating of the sex offenders – is correct, because that is actually what they do.

“They take advantage of a child, they try to keep things in secret and make them do things that they are not supposed to do….

“There should be no secrets. That’s a red flag. When there are secrets, that’s a red flag.”

Attorney Vernadette Broyles, with the Child & Parental Rights Campaign, told the Daily Mail that the Perez’ daughter was previously a “mentally healthy, happy, child.”

She added:

“One of the things that’s so distressing and makes so clear the school’s liability and fault here is they took a healthy child and after months of meeting with her, in secret, they caused her distressed [sic] and in conflict with herself that she felt the desire to end her life.”

In fact, according to the Washington Examiner, the lawsuit states that:

“just before the incident she had told her mother that she believed that people who say they are transgender have a problem with their minds because ‘if you’re a boy, you’re a boy, if you’re a girl, you’re a girl.’”

The Daily Mail notes:

“Broyles said the suit is asking for ‘declaratory judgement that the school’s actions were unlawful’ and ‘injunctive relief to change the practices and policies’ so that parents will be contacted about an issues pertaining to their child’s well-being or mental health.”

The Clay County School District took exception to the allegations, claiming them to be “false.”

The district told the Daily Mail:

“The district has performed a thorough and complete investigation into this matter as it was presented to us and has determined that the allegations made by this out-of-state organization are completely false, fabricated, and appear to be intended solely for the purpose of inciting the public.

“All employees of the district consistently work to ensure that the best interests of all students are served. The district will have no further comment on this matter.”

Broyles responded:

“The school is responding in a way that is typical of school districts – to deny liability because they understand they are under the court’s scrutiny.

“We are quite confident of the facts because they are disclosed by school officials themselves directly to these parents.”

Mom sues school, claiming teachers manipulated her daughter to “bind her breasts”, change gender identity

Originally published January 27, 2022

SAN DIEGO, CA- According to reports, a California mother has filed a legal claim against the Spreckels Union School District (SUSD), alleging that teachers pressured her 11-year-old daughter “into believing she was a transgender boy and gave tips on how to bind her breasts.”

The mother, Jessica Konen, has taken action against SUSD stating that two teachers, Lori Caldeira and Kelly Baraki, both from the Buena Vista Middle School, suggested that her daughter was bisexual.

Konen also claimed that, without her knowledge, school officials created a “gender support plan” for her daughter, who is in sixth grade.

Harmeet Dhillon, founder and CEO of the Center for American Liberty, filed the case on behalf of Konen. Dhillon told the Daily Mail:

“Parents are supposed to have access to all the educational records of their children. The concept that the schools have a right to be running secret, don’t-tell-you-parents clubs and don’t-tell-your-parents programs and actively coaching children on how to mutilate themselves, which is you know, not growing your breasts, is certainly not consistent with California law.”

Konen claimed that two years ago, the two teachers indoctrinated her daughter into identifying as “trans fluid” after encouraging her to join the school’s LGBTQ group, called the “Equality Club.”

Konen reportedly told the Epoch Times that towards the end of her daughter’s sixth-grade year, she informed her that she might be bisexual, and later on, in December 2019, when her child was in seventh-grade, Konen said she was called to the school for a meeting with her daughter, a teacher, and the school principal.

It was during that meeting that the teacher allegedly told Konen that her daughter was “trans fluid.”

Additionally, Konen said that the teacher accused her of not being “emotionally supportive” of her daughter’s new gender identity and criticized her for not using her daughter’s new name and pronouns.

The teacher also reportedly stated that Konen’s daughter would not be using the unisex bathroom at the school. At the time, Konen said:

“I felt she completely coached my child. It made me feel very, very small as a parent. I was unaware of anything. Not one time had she mentioned to me, ‘Oh, I think that I want to change my name,’ or ‘I’m transgender or anything.’ Nothing. I only heard bisexual one time and that was it.”

Konen reported that, within several days of that meeting, the King City Police Department visited her home to inform her a Child Protective Services (CPS) complaint had been filed against her. Police reportedly questioned both of Konen’s children, asking if they wished to be removed from the home.

Konen said that eventually, CPS dropped the case. However, after additional meetings with teachers, the mother discovered that her daughter had also searched online for information regarding suicide, another surprising revelation she had heard nothing about from school administrators.

Konen reported that once schools closed in March 2020 due to the pandemic, her daughter returned to identifying as a girl. Konen also removed her daughter, now 14-years-old, from that school and enrolled her elsewhere.

She reported that her daughter is now using her birth name and female pronouns.

Fox News reported that Superintendent Eric Tarallo said that the teachers were placed on administrative leave while an independent investigation was underway. He said in a statement:

“Privacy laws prohibit the district from any further communication on the investigation as it relates to personnel matters. The claim submitted by Ms. Konen will be addressed in the appropriate manner within the judicial system. We are currently reviewing and updating our policies and procedures regarding student clubs and will bring those draft policies to the Board of Education as soon as feasible.”

Caldeira and Baraki previously received attention when Caldeira said she “totally stalked” students’ online activity in order to find potential members for their club called “You be You,” which was the new name of the “Equality Club.” She reportedly said:

“When we were doing our virtual learning, we totally stalked what they were doing on Google when they weren’t doing school work … One of them was Googling ‘Trans Day of Visibility’ and we were like, ‘Check, we’re going to invite that kid when we get back on campus.'”

She defended herself saying that social media was already starting a conversation about gender and sexuality. She said:

“Their parents think we start that conversation, but we don’t. TikTok starts it, Snapchat starts it, Instagram starts it or their classmates start it and then we just try to answer the questions as honestly and fairly as we can.”
