CHANNELVIEW, TX – Three armed men in ski masks attempted to enter a home in Channelview, roughly 20 minutes east of Houston.
Inside the residence were an adult female, two 17-year-olds and a 12-year-old. As the three men attempted to gain entry to the home, one of the 17-year-olds grabbed a shotgun, firing at the intruders several times, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
As reported by KPRC 2, when authorities arrived, they found that two of the alleged intruders had been wounded by the gunshot blasts. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
Law enforcement is looking for the third man, who they say fled the scene in a dark-colored 4-door sedan. It is unknown if that individual was also wounded by the teenager or not. Fortunately, none of the residents were injured.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez tweeted about the incident, asking the public for assistance in locating the other suspect, and encouraging anyone with knowledge of their where-abouts to reach out to the HCSO Homicide Unit.
The case will also be referred to a grand jury, which is common in cases that appear to be clear cut self-defense.

Recapping what we know Gonzalez wrote:
“Last night in Channelview at the 16000 blk of First Street, three adult males attempted to force entry into a home. The males were armed and wearing masks. The home was occupied by an adult female, 12-yr-old male, and two 17-yr-old males.
One of the 17-yr-old male occupants retrieved a shotgun and discharged it several times striking two of the suspects. Both males were pronounced deceased at the scene. The 3rd suspect fled in a dark colored, 4-door sedan. There were no other reported injuries.
The case will be presented to a grand jury. The investigation is on-going and anyone with information is urged to contact the HCSO Homicide Unit at 713-274-9100.”
ABC 13 reported that they had been able to obtain surveillance footage from a nearby residence that seems to contradict the sheriff’s account of the number of suspects.
They say that the footage showed “four suspects arriving and parking next door to the home. Nearly two minutes later, two suspects are seen running back to the car before driving off.”
Houston’s ABC affiliate also said that a neighbor showed them their home and vehicle that had been “riddled with at least nine bullet holes.”
Given the vast difference between bullet holes and something being peppered with shotgun blasts, it remains to be seen of the armed invaders returned fire at the teenager. Investigators have not spoken on that aspect.

According to reports, 69-year-old homeowner, Virginia Morrison, said she was relaxing in her home with her 80-year-old partner, Charlie on Saturday, May 21st, when she suddenly heard the front door open. When recounting what happened, she said:
“I heard the door handle kind of rattle and then the door opened and the guy stepped in my house. I didn’t know who he was. I looked at him and I said, ‘Who are you and what do you want?’ [He said] nothing. The whole time the guy was here. He never said one word and I never saw his eyes move. Total blank.”
Morrison said she then ran into the bedroom and screamed at her partner, Charlie, that there was a stranger in the house. She said:
“I looked at him, I said, ‘Get your gun!’ because he had a .45 laying on the bed. ‘Get your gun.’ That gun never fazed this guy. Just a total blank.”
While yelling at Charlie to grab his gun, Morrison said she quickly grabbed a broom handle and hit the man twice in the face. The 80-year-old man grabbed his handgun and fired off one shot that hit near the uninvited guest’s feet just before calling 911.

Morrison said even then, the man still did not move. She added:
“I said, ‘I’m getting my (expletive) gun’, so I went to my bedroom and got my gun. I went out the back door and I came to then fence and he sees me. He starts toward me. I fired a shot above him. ‘Back off, dude, I’ll shot you.’ He just keeps coming toward me. So, I shot him.”
According to authorities, when deputies arrived on scene at the home on Bentwood Street, they found a man in his 30s with a gunshot wound. The man was transported to a nearby hospital where he died from his injuries. Morrison said:
“I feel bad for his family, but you just can’t walk in people’s homes.”
Morrison said that she and her partner Charlie have lived in the home for nearly 20 years. She added:
“I had to do what I had to do to protect myself and Charlie. And I would do it again if I had to, but I don’t want to do that. I hope God can forgive me for taking a man’s life.”
She told the Orlando Sentinel in a statement:
“I’ve been shooting guns since I was 10-years-old. I grew up on a dairy farm in Tennessee. We had to know how to shoot rattlesnakes. I’ve never had to pull a gun on anybody.”

On Monday, May 23rd, the Sheriff’s Office identified the man who was fatally shot by Morrison as 38-year-old Ezequiel Rosario-Torres. Morrison told FOX 35:
“I didn’t know what he was going to do, but I knew I was going to protect myself. I’m a fighter. I’m going to defend myself.”
The Sheriff’s Office said the case will be sent to the State Attorney’s Office and they will be the ones to determine whether charges against Morrison should be filed or not.
Philadelphia man shoots armed intruder who was impersonating a police officer and tried to tie him up

PHILADELPHIA, PA – It was just after 10 pm on Easter Sunday.
As a 25-year-old man was entering his apartment, two men identifying themselves as police forced him back into his home. They threatened to kill him if he made any sudden movements. They then attempted to zip tie his hands behind his back.
He had just parked his Dodge Hellcat in the driveway and was headed inside when the altercation began.
Realizing that these individuals were not actual law enforcement, he had to act quick.
The Gateway Pundit reported that the resident was licensed to carry a concealed weapon.
He was able to free his hands and draw his own firearm, shooting at the intruder closest to him. He fired multiple shots, striking the fake cop.
His accomplice bolted from the scene and Philadelphia police are still searching for him. They have been able to access surveillance footage from the neighborhood and are reviewing footage in hopes of tracking him down.
The intruder that was shot was found by responding officer just outside the apartment door, with gunshot wounds to his head, chest and arm, and a fake badge around his neck. He was taken to a local hospital and was pronounced dead on arrival.
Investigators found a total of six shell casings in the apartment. It appears that the resident fired all six shots.
Authorities briefly detained the 25-year-old and his girlfriend, who was upstairs during the break-in.
Fox 29 spoke with the victim, who said that this will soon be his former apartment. After this incident he is moving.
“I pulled out and shot right at him and that’s it,” he said.
Fox 29 reporter Steve Keeley said that the man also stated that every law abiding citizen who can legally buy a gun should do so in an effort to protect themselves from the rising crime in the city.
Kelley said:
“This guy reaches in his pocket, pulls out his legal gun, and blows away the guy with the badge and the gun. Shoots him six times in the head and the chest.
They got the bad guy’s gun, which was left on the stairwell along with 6 bullets from the good guy’s gun. Police have that gun as well, just for evidence.
As bad as the mayor might think it is that these people are getting guns to arm themselves and fight back, here is a case where the good guy is alive, and the bad guy…is dead.”
