Texas National Guard prepares for war on the border as Biden set to welcome 500,000 illegal immigrants a month

AUSTIN, TX – Illegal immigration is set to go nuclear on the U.S. -Mexico border, thanks to the Biden Administration, and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is going into war mode in a challenge to the White House-approved invasion.

Gov. Abbott has ordered the Texas National Guard along with state and local law enforcement to conduct military drills in an effort to deter hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants from crossing into the United States from Mexico.

The drills are a direct response to President Joe Biden admitting it is going to cancel Title 42, the COVID-19 public health policy that allows U.S. authorities to turn migrants away at the border before they can claim asylum. Title 42, used by both the Trump and Biden administrations, will be lifted at the end of May.

The drills began April 7, according to Texas Public Radio, and will continue through the end of May in anticipation of the more than 500,000 illegal immigrants expected to enter the country each month once the public health policy is lifted.

The Department of Homeland Security said it is anticipating that 12,000 to 18,000 illegal immigrants will cross the U.S.-Mexico border every day, totaling up to 540,000 monthly.

Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin, who is in Mission, Texas, tweeted:

“Texas National Guard soldiers in riot gear running drills in the RGV on how to respond to a ‘mass migration’ event when Title 42 drops next month. DHS projects up to 18,000 illegal crossings per *day* when that time comes. That’s more than double the current volume. @FoxNews.”

The exercises include riot control and forming perimeters along the Rio Grande River and are taking place in several border locations, including Eagle Pass and Del Rio.

Sgt. Juan Maldonado of the Texas Department of Public Safety said of the drills:

“It’s just to show the presence known to the United States and the counties and citizens that we’re here to support them. As well to show force and presence to the Mexico side in case the migration starts to occur.”

The Texas DPS shared photos and videos of the drills on Facebook. The department wrote in the post:

“Under the direction of Governor Greg Abbott, the Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Military Department, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Texas Parks and Wildlife and our local partners continue to work collaboratively in taking a proactive approach to secure the border. #OperationLoneStar.”

Gov. Abbott has gotten creative in his attacks on the Biden Administration’s seeming outright refusal to control immigration. Last week, he announced that illegal immigrants would be sent to Washington, D.C., on charter buses and planes if they enter the United States across the Mexico border.

Abbott said during a press conference to announce the plan:

“To help local officials whose communities are being overwhelmed by hordes of illegal immigrants who are being dropped off by the Biden administration, Texas is providing charter buses to send these illegal immigrants who have been dropped off by the Biden administration to Washington, D.C.

“We are sending them to the United States capital where the Biden administration will be able to more immediately address the needs of the people that they are allowing to come across our border. The first location will be the steps of the United States Capitol.”

The first group of illegal immigrants arrived in the nation’s capital on Wednesday. The illegal aliens, from Colombia, Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua, were dropped off between Union Station and the Capitol. In a statement Wednesday, Abbott said:

“By busing migrants to Washington, D.C., the Biden Administration will be able to more immediately meet the needs of the people they are allowing to cross our border.”

Gov. Abbott added that another busload is en route.

Buckle up: Foreign criminals are flooding into America thanks to lax laws, and that’s according to the FBI

April 13, 2022

Per the Daily Mail and the FBI, foreign criminals are coming to America because they believe that laws and enforcement have changed.

If foreign criminals believe that America has become easy pickings, is there any doubt that domestic offenders don’t have the same beliefs?

“It’s clear what we are confronting: A perception among criminals that there are no consequences, even for serious crime,” NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell.

The Daily Mail-UK offers an article on foreign criminals coming to America because of a perception of lax laws and enforcement.

The debate is whether changes or reforms in the American criminal justice system prompt criminality. According to the FBI, there are crime tourists coming here because they believe that their chances for apprehension are slight and if apprehended, the consequences are few. Relaxed bail laws are cited.

Daily Mail Article (edited for brevity)

  • ‘Crime tourists’ from South America are being blamed for at least two recent burglaries in an affluent San Francisco Bay area community
  • Similar groups have struck in Indiana, Texas, New York, Virginia, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina
  • The gangs target wealthy neighborhoods in places with lax criminal justice laws to conduct their home burglaries, police say
  • Criminals apprehended by police for similar schemes have hailed primarily from Chile and Colombia

Gangs of South American ‘crime tourists’ are being blamed for at least two home burglaries in California this week – as well as similar raids across the country in recent months, including sprees in Indiana, Texas, New York, Virginia, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

The criminals target wealthy neighborhoods in places with lax criminal justice laws to conduct their home burglaries, before returning home with the loot while out on bail, according to police.

‘Of the eight burglaries this month, we suspect six were committed by organized Chilean gang members operating out of the Los Angeles area,’ Atherton Police Chief Steven McCully told KPIX. ‘Chilean gang member burglaries have been a problem throughout San Mateo County and nationwide.’

Reasons Why

Law enforcement experts say the foreign cells of professional burglars – mostly from Columbia and Chile – enter the country illegally or exploit a 2014 visa waiver program intended to spur tourism from dozens of trusted countries.

The Electronic System for Travel Authorization allows citizens from 40 nations to be prescreened to travel to the U.S. for tourism or business for up to 90 days without obtaining a visa, a process that lets travelers undergo less scrutiny to enter the country

After entering the country, they reportedly carry out strings of break-ins and other crimes, bringing home up to hundreds of millions of dollars in stolen goods, the FBI estimates.

The visiting criminals are emboldened by their discovery of a ‘sweet spot’ in the American criminal system because their offenses don’t meet the requirements for federal investigation, and are often overlooked because the country is focusing on a frightening rise in homicides.

What’s more, no cash or low bail law allow the repeat offenders endless opportunities to continue to the brazen heists, even after being caught.

Like Virginia, California is one such state that criminals take advantage of due to its controversial 2014 law – Proposition 47 – that barred prosecutors from charging suspected shoplifters accused of stealing less than $950 worth of merchandise with felonies.

Is America A “Sweet Spot” For Crime?

Violence and fear are skyrocketing in cities because we are changing the response to crime and telling offenders that accountability is reduced (or over) for a wide array of illegal acts. Progressive prosecutors are leading this effort.

“It’s clear what we are confronting: A perception among criminals that there are no consequences, even for serious crime,” NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell said Wednesday during a news conference to announce the crime statistics.

Criminals are not stupid. They see what’s happening on our streets. They understand that prosecutors are not charging. They are getting out of jails without bail (and without supervision) after major arrests. We are at historic lows for corrections and parole and probation and other forms of accountability.

Cops are pulling back due to immense public and media criticism. Arrests are plummeting. The percentage of homicides and violent crimes solved are falling dramatically. Cops are reluctant to arrest for crimes that will not be prosecuted.

Per the Bureau of Labor Statistics, thousands of police officers are leaving. Recruitment is plummeting. Proactive policing per the DOJ and the National Academy of Sciences is the only modality per research that reduces crime and violence. We have told (demanded?) cops to stop proactivity via massive national protests, Police Strategies.

The result? Immense violence, firearm and security sales are skyrocketing, fear is at an all-time high and it’s minority communities that are being hit the hardest.

Discussions of criminal justice reform need to be mixed with messages of accountability. Without the threat of arrests and sanctions, crime and violence increase to the point of making cities unlivable and ungovernable, which is why people are leaving.

Most progressives have always made the welfare of offenders the priority rather than the protection of the public. Considering massive violence and record fear in distressed communities, they miscalculated badly.

But if foreign criminals know that America has become easy pickings for criminality, is there any doubt that domestic criminals don’t have the same perceptions?
