Surprise! George Soros funding efforts to support voting loopholes, get-out-the-vote campaigns

USA- Are you as sick of hearing the name of George Soros as we are? His continual interference in American election politics is maddening. While Democrats use Russian election interference as a dog whistle, the person that should be the focus of election meddling is Soros.

Two weeks ago on Breitbart News Tonight, Eric Eggers, who wrote Fraud: How the Left Plans to Steal the Next Election, said that Soros is responsible for filing legal challenge against voting laws, as well as get-out-the-vote campaigns designed to help Democrats.

Breitbart News reported that Eggers mentioned that legal organizations have been filing lawsuits for the purpose of undermining the integrity of elections where they concern voting law and they have the same backers as defunct leftist get-out-the-vote organizations such as the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) and La Raza.

“We’ve discovered that people that were filing lawsuits to protect what we found to be notable loopholes that help make elections [and] keep elections very vulnerable to fraud were the same groups that shared a funding source with groups like ACORN and LaRaza,” Eggers said.

He noted that Soros’ funded organizations receive money laundered through his Open Society Foundations “round up and wrestle as many potential voters—illegal and otherwise—as they can.” He continued that any ballots that were collected through these means were then “[forced] through the loopholes the lawyers were fighting in court to protect.”

According to the Washington Free Beacon, Soros funded the Center for Popular Democracy Action Fund, (CPDAF) which is an organization designed to run voter drives as well as to challenge voter identification laws.

In May 2017, that organization announced that they would be leading an $80 million anti-Trump network which would cross 32 states. This was literally four months after President Trump was inaugurated.

The organization was backed by current Minnesota attorney general Keith Ellison, who was the deputy chair of the Democratic National Committee at the time.

“This national network, led by working class people of color and immigrants, will supply the power and the fight we need to resist the Trump administration’s all out assault on American values,” Ellison said to CNN. “I look forward to standing with CPD Action’s leaders in the streets and in Congress to win real progressive change.”

The group backed by Soros is targeting states won by President Trump in 2016 which had previously been won by Barack Obama. The group is working both through legal means as well as through voter drives.

Eggers said that “it’s not a surprise to me or anybody [that] this is very much a legal fight as much as it is a fight at the ballot box. You’re seeing an organized, well-funded and well-orchestrated attack by Mark Elias.

“I know you’re trying to keep the tin foil in the cupboard, but George Soros has money in many of these efforts. It is not an accident that we’re seeing this in the key states…Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, right?”

In 2015, the New York Times reported that Elias, former general counsel for Hillary Clinton’s failed 2016 presidential bid, led a campaign to change voter ID laws in both Ohio and Wisconsin. Elias also spearheaded legal challenges to other voting laws, including timeframes on early voting. Notice a pattern here?

Eggers highlighted the fact that left-wing legal challenges are often characterized by the favoring of “access over security.” He also said that Democrats and the far-left are attempting to use the coronavirus as a pretext to further erode election security, he said.

“In the name of safety, we may inadvertently threaten the health of American democracy,” Eggers warned.

The host of the podcast, Jerome Hudson asked Eggers, “Are Republicans prepared to fight the legal battles that they should have known are coming?”

To this, Eggers replied, “Yeah, because it turns out Republicans go to law school also, right? There’s a whole army of Republicans, many of whom I’ve met and interviewed…these are guys on the ground fighting in the courthouse in Philadelphia. They’re fighting in the courthouse in Lansing and in these battlegrounds.”

In conclusion, Eggers said, “Republican election law lawyers very much understand what’s at stake.”

The Washington Free Beacon said that CPDAF had been responsible of numerous actions after Trump’s inauguration, including so-called “spontaneous” protests at JFK International Airport in New York after the president announced his Muslim travel ban. However, the protests had, in fact been planned since the day after Trump’s inauguration.

They also partnered with a group called Make the Road New York, which was a Latino immigrant group. Many of CPDAF’s staffers and directors came directly from ACORN.

The group partnered on a campaign called “Corporate Backers of Hate” that targeted companies such as JP Morgan Chase, Wells Fargo, Goldman Sachs, and Disney to name a few, companies which they believed would profit from President Trump’s policies.

They also were behind the #GrabYourWallet campaign, which targeted retailers that carried Trump family products. This led retailer Nordstrom to pull Ivanka Trump’s products from the store, although they claimed it was due to declining sales.

The groups also have ties to Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D), whose daughter is chair of a New York-based progressive group called Demos, which pushed back against election lawsuits in a number of states. Demos also received hundreds of thousands of dollars in funding from Soros backed groups.

Oh, what a tangled web we weave.
