SANTA ANA, Calif. – The Santa Ana Police Department arrested three suspects for Human Trafficking. In this incident, it amounts to sex trafficking a minor. The underage female was rescued from their control during a vice investigation.
On Friday at about 4:00 a.m., detectives of the SAPD Vice and Narcotic Unit conducted a prostitution related operation on Harbor Blvd. This area is heavily populated by unseemly activity. A short time later, they had their hooks into circumstances that led to the rescue.
Their observations began in the parking lot of 820 N. Harbor Blvd. An adult female was seen walking away from two vehicles. As the female walked up and down the well-known prostitution corridor, detectives witnessed two males exiting a vehicle in an effort to supervise her activity. A third male was later located in one of the vehicles as well.
The adult female eventually entered a vehicle of a prospective customer, according to SAPD. They were stopped and detained by detectives as they drove away.
It appears that simultaneously, police detained the male suspects believed to be supervising the female.
Sex trafficking unveiled
As detectives interviewed all the players, they determined that a 17-year old female was also being trafficked for prostitution by the three suspects. She was located and taken into protective custody.
Additionally, the female adult had been recently victimized by one of the suspects, by driving her to meet prospective clients through the Internet commercial sex trade, according to police. All parties recently arrived in Southern California from the San Francisco Bay area.
During the undercover operation, a total of nine arrests were made. The adults arrested for Human Trafficking were identified as Hakeem Lipscomb, Gregory Wayne Warren III, and Aleah Harris, according to SAPD. They also arrested two “Johns” for solicitation of prostitution, and four other adult females for solicitation of prostitution.
