WASHINGTON, DC- Hidden (kind of) within the latest porkulus bill…the poorly named “Inflation Reduction Act…is a measure which will allocate $80 billion to the Internal Revenue Service to over double the current staff, adding up to 87,000 additional employees.
Only the most partisan of Democrats believe this additional staff is there to target “millionaires and billionaires.”
And given the developments Monday in Mar-a-Lago, where Biden’s Gestapo aka the FBI has raided the home of former President Trump, it is clear the Democrats will use the IRS to target their political opponents. Welcome to Venezuela.
With everything going on in our country today, one might think that adding more employees to the hated IRS would not be a priority. But here we are.
The Biden administration and congressional Democrats were sitting there thinking…we need to double the size of the IRS! That’ll fix gas prices and inflation.
According to the Washington Free Beacon, the ridiculously named Inflation Reduction Act, which West Virginia’s Joe Manchin (D) and Arizona’s Kyrsten Sinema (D) sold whatever credibility they had left to sign on to, will see the IRS receive those funds, which would more than double the size of the IRS’s workforce, currently numbering 78,661 full-time staffers.
The $80 billion would increase the tax agency’s budget by 600 percent, from $12.6 billion.
Joe Biden has been bloviating since he was sworn in that his tax and spend policies wouldn’t touch anyone making less than $400,000 a year. For anyone who believes that we’ve got some nice oceanfront property for sale in Arizona you can get an amazing deal on.
A “Congressional Budget Office (CBO) analysis” (a non-partisan analysis, mind you) as reported by the Free Beacon shows the new and not-so-improved IRS would achieve “more than $200 billion in additional revenue for the federal government over the next decade.”
You can bet the house that additional revenue isn’t going to be coming from Jeff Bezos or George Soros, but from Joe Six Pack who is likely a registered Republican. Buckle up middle class—the old “Scranton kid” is coming after you.
The Free Beacon reports:
“Democrats say the hiring of additional IRS agents will help root out tax cheats and other criminals, for “more than half of that funding is specifically earmarked for ‘enforcement,” meaning tax audits and other responsibilities such as ‘digital asset monitoring.’”
Does anyone with a modicum of common sense and more than a couple of brain cells to rub together think the IRS will be any less political than the FBI is?
We have seen that agency weaponized against political enemies of the ruling class, from close advisers to a former president all the way down to people who merely wore a red MAGA hat adjacent to the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
Hell, we already saw the IRS used during the Obama administration to target conservatives, in that case conservative nonprofits.
Do you think with potentially double the number of employees they won’t come after you? Or us? Have you ever been subjected to an IRS audit? Can you imagine that agency with unmitigated power, backed by the executive branch?
FrontPageMag relates an incident back in 2017, when then-House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady and then-Tax Policy Subcommittee Chairman Peter Roskam sent a request to the Justice Department to reopen the investigation into then-IRS department director Lois Lerner’s conduct. They wrote:
“On April 9, 2014, the House Committee on Ways and Means voted to send a letter to the Department of Justice referring former IRS Exempt Organizations Division Director Lois G. Lerner for criminal prosecution.
As indicated in the attached letter, the Committee’s nearly three-year investigation uncovered evidence of willful misconduct on the part of Ms. Lerner. Despite this fact, and for what many believe were purely partisan reasons, the prior Administration refused to review Ms. Lerner’s misconduct.”
At that time, the misconduct referred to by the lawmakers was the politicization of the IRS:
“In particular, the Committee found that Ms. Lerner used her position to improperly influence IRS action against conservative organizations, denying these groups due process and protection rights under the law.
The Committee also found she impeded official investigations by providing misleading statements in response to questions from the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration.
Finally, Lerner risked exposing, and may actually have disclosed, confidential taxpayer information, in apparent violation of Internal Revenue Code section 6103 by using her personal email to conduct official business.”
Sounds a bit Hillary Clintonesque to us, no.
Since the United States, in particular Washington, D.C. operates a two-tiered system of justice, of course nothing came of the investigation into Lerner.
The same group of sycophants who worked alongside Lerner are likely still working in the bureaucratic swamp known in this case as the IRS.
Biden has already turned the Justice Department into his own version of the Gestapo, as we saw Monday with the unprecedented FBI raid involving what is described as dozens of FBI agents at Trump’s home in Mar-a-Lago.
Can you imagine what this administration could do with having the FBI with tens of thousands of new agents at their disposal? Or the IRS?
What of companies that refuse to comply with the administration’s “green” agenda? What of clinics that refuse to perform abortions, even in states where the state government has placed restrictions on the process?
How about gun dealers or gun manufacturers? And more daunting, what of those who vote Republican?
Look at the hundreds of people locked up in the equivalent of Washington, D.C. gulags, held without bond, all for the sin of being supporters of the former president.
An overwhelming majority of those being held did nothing more than trespass on the Capitol grounds, nor engaged in violence. We guarantee none of them shot an unarmed woman in cold blood and kept their job as a police officer.
Things are about to get really bad, and if what happened on Monday in Palm Beach, Florida is any indication, we are in the midst of a political purge of anyone who doesn’t play along with the Biden administration.
The tyrants are in charge. It may get very ugly. In fact, it already has.
In case you missed it, below is a recent piece we published about the FBI now deciding that certain references to the Revolutionary War are an indicator of violent right extremism…seriously.
This editorial is brought to you by a staff writer for Law Enforcement Today.
Project Veritas has published an undercover document from the FBI which lists a number of symbols of America’s founding as “extremist” and tied to “Militia Violent Extremists,” or MVEs, according to American Military News.
The symbols identified as extremist in the FBI’s document include the Betsy Ross American Flag, the Gadsden “Don’t Tread on Me” flag, symbols of the Second Amendment, and other imagery closely related to the Revolutionary War period. It’s information like this that begs for the FBI to be dissolved and a new agency constructed in its place.
Project Veritas said it obtained the information via a whistleblower.
The document, labeled “Unclassified/Law Enforcement Sensitive” also contains a disclaimer reading “FBI Internal Use Only.” Wonder why.
The document then goes on to list some symbols, many of which are familiar and then there are the others which simply relate to the Revolutionary War era.
Below are some of the previously reported ones:
- Boogaloo: an American flag with an igloo replacing the 50 stars and a single Hawaiian shirt-patterned line. The term Boogaloo is a reference to the film Breakin 2: Electric Boogaloo and is believed to refer to a second American civil war.
- Punisher skulls
- 2A: the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms
- Electrical Resistance symbol
- Various symbols of “Warrior Culture”
- Molon Labe: a phrase meaning “come and take them,” popularized by Spartan King Leonidas at the Battle of Thermopylae, whereby he was challenging the Persians to take away the weapons of his opposing army.
- A black and white or all-black American flag
Then the document went totally rogue:
- The Gadsden flag
- American Revolutionary War imagery
- The Liberty Tree: references a famous elm tree in Boston where colonial men organized in 1765 for one of the first major acts of defiance against the British prior to the American Revolution.
- The Betsy Ross flag, which represented the first thirteen colonies (states), which has the thirteen stars arranged in a circle.
“Widespread use of symbols and quotes from American history, especially the Revolutionary War, exists within MVE networks,” the document reads. “Historic and contemporary military themes are common for MVE symbols.”
The document doesn’t seem to identify any symbols of “left wing extremism” such as the antifa symbol, black power, or Black Lives Matter imagery, nor the imagery of radical left anti-choice loons which consists of an image of a woman’s sexual reproductive system. Doesn’t fit the agenda, apparently.
In addition to the above, the FBI’s document also lists a number of common phrases and references associated to, in some cases, events or individuals shared by so-called MVEs. Included in those references is the murder of Trump supporter Ashli Babbitt, the unarmed woman who was killed in cold blood by a US Capitol Police officer on January 6, 2021.
The document also references a man named Duncan Lemp, a man who was shot and killed in March 2020 in an early morning police raid on his home. Lemp’s family insists he was asleep at the time he was shot and killed.
If you’re unfamiliar, Ruby Ridge, located in Idaho, was the site of a 1992 standoff between friends and family of Randy Weaver versus the FBI, Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) and the U. S. Marshals. During the exchange of gunfire, Weaver’s 14-year-old son Sammy was killed, while Weaver’s wife was shot and killed by an FBI sniper.
Waco occurred during the Clinton administration and saw another standoff between federal law enforcement authorities and the Branch Dividians, a religious group, in Waco, Texas. As a result of the initial raid, six members of the religious group were killed in a shootout with the ATF as they attempted to raid the compound to serve a firearms warrant on Feb. 28, 1993.
The raid turned into a lengthy standoff between the Branch Dividians and the feds. At some point in time the compound “caught fire” and 76 additional members of the religious group were killed, including 25 children and two pregnant women.
There have long been questions how the fire started, with some suggesting it was the result of a flash bang or similar device fired into the compound by the feds.
“The use or sharing of these symbols alone should not independently be considered evidence of MVE presence or affiliation, or serve as an indicator of illegal activity, as many individuals use these symbols for their original historic meaning or other non-violent purposes,” the document states.
American Military News reached out to the FBI for comment, however none was returned.
