FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. – Many police agencies around the country participate in the worthwhile community outreach program, Shop With a Cop. The program pairs uniformed police officers with underprivileged children given a certain amount of donated monies. The two shop together for about one hour and of course, pictures are taken with Santa.

The video below shows the Fountain Valley Police Department arriving at their event. Mr. Claus and his Christmas gifts are pretty secure in the BearCat armored vehicle.

Across country in West Virginia, the Marion County Sheriff’s Department treated a group of kids to shopping Sunday. Deputy Brian Speakman says this was the best turnout the program has had in years, reported WDTV.

“The cops took us around and giving us Christmas presents because they’re being really nice people,” one of the shoppers, Arrora Mcatee said.

“I just found out I was coming this morning, so I was pretty shocked,” Sierra Fredrick says.

For every agency that participates in this worthwhile program, thank you! Donating your time and resources bringing joy to these children at this time of year is heartwarming.
