AMERICA- There are a few lessons we have learned over the past 16 or so months. First, we’ve learned that the saying, “power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely” is 100% true.
Second, we’ve learned that half the American people can be scared into doing anything the government tells them to do. And finally, we learned that Dr. Anthony Fauci is an abject fraud.
Starting in March 2020, when we the American people were told we had to shut down our economy for “14 days to stop the spread” of COVID-19, power-obsessed politicians across the country learned exactly how much people were willing to put up with.
When those 14 days turned into weeks and then months, the ruling class kept nudging, pushing the American people.
Bill of Rights? First Amendment? Well, we were told, only portions of that mattered. Religious services were canceled due to “social distancing” requirements.
Random percentages of people were allowed in places such as restaurants not based on science but based on hunches. Not inside, of course. Restaurants had to scramble to put up outside dining areas in order to try to remain in business.
And what of that First Amendment? When people were “peacefully protesting” (rioting) in cities across the U.S., the same politicians that told us church services needed to be canceled for our safety excused the rioting, because it was “for something bigger than ourselves.”
You know, the so-called “systemic racism” in our country, the fact that “law enforcement officers go out every day to hunt down black men and kill them.” For anyone with their eyes open, the abject hypocrisy was there for all to see.
Yet, when governors such as Andrew Cuomo (D-NY), Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI), Phil Murphy (D-NJ), Gavin Newsom (D-CA) and others implemented random, non-science-based directives, people willingly went along. Or at least probably half of them.
This all happened despite the fact that some of these same politicians busted their own rules, giving themselves exemptions because, as Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot said when caught getting her hair done, she’s “in the public eye” and “has to look good,” like that could ever happen.
There is always the “dog ate my homework” excuse, given by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) when she too got snagged breaking San Francisco’s lockdown restrictions by getting her hair done. She claimed she was “set up by the salon owner,” despite text messages showing just the opposite had occurred.
When businesses started to truly suffer was when we saw power-hungry politicians at their absolute worst. The starkest example that comes to mind is what was done to the Atilis Gym in Bellmawr, New Jersey.
The gym owners, Ian Smith and Frank Trumbetti went out of their way to comply with New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy’s lockdown restrictions. Yet that wasn’t enough for Murphy.
When the gym owners finally ended up defying Murphy’s orders and reopened the gym, with all manner of precautions in place, Murphy set about having the owners arrested and had confiscatory fines placed upon them. All for trying to survive.
Even more ironically, COVID was determined to be most lethal for those who had comorbidities, including being overweight or out of shape. So a gym, where one would ostensibly be able to address those issues was punished with closure. Makes a lot of sense, no?
In New York City, communist-sympathizing Mayor Bill de Blasio used his authority to go after Hasidic Jews who had the audacity to have a funeral service.
There are hundreds of stories such as this all across the country. Yet 50% of the American people…the sheep…willingly went (and still go) along.
And what of that 50% who are scared to return to the lives they had pre-pandemic? We have seen Americans turn against each other for the simple sin of not wearing a mask or for standing 5 feet away from someone instead of 6.
This was, you know, all supposed to be “rooted in science.” Yet the “science” has been all over the place.
But that doesn’t stop the “mask police” from shaming people for not wearing the new version of the scarlet letter. Even now, with mask mandates ending for “vaccinated” people, when you are out and about and go into a store without a mask, people look at you, suspicious that you may be a “poser”…you know, someone who claims to be vaccinated to avoid wearing one of those disgusting masks.

There are stories out there of people being accosted when not wearing a mask, with people demanding they show “proof” of being vaccinated. So much for privacy.
And quite honestly, and this is a sincere point, if people can now identify as being something they clearly are not, why can’t someone identify as being vaccinated?
Saying that you “identify as being vaccinated” is no more absurd than a 6’4” man weighing 300 pounds with a full beard saying they identify as a female.
Despite all the evidence that has come forth recently about the ridiculousness of wearing masks, and even with states loosening mask mandates, many private businesses are still requiring masks be worn. Which makes zero sense.
Ever hear of the term “my body, my choice?” Leftists certainly have. So why the insanity with masks? With the COVID vaccine being widely available, anyone who wants the vaccine can get it. Think of it as an invisible mask. Don’t want the vaccine? Don’t take it. It’s called personal risk…and personal choice.
People like to equate wearing masks to wearing seatbelts, and the analogy kind of makes sense. I was never a big fan of seatbelt laws, even though I wear one. Personal choice.
In other words, if you are afraid of COVID, you have two choices…get the shot or wear a mask. If you decide to do neither, that is your choice. The people who are obsessed with COVID are still protected. For the rest of us, it’s risk vs reward. The less than 3% chance you’ll die from COVID versus wearing a face diaper.
It’s like people who overeat. Science and data tell us that being overweight is bad for us. Yet we don’t put a limit on the amount people are allowed to stuff in their face. It’s personal choice.
You want to eat until you weigh 400 pounds? Then you’re willing to accept the risk of diabetes, heart disease and every other physical ailment that goes along with it. You don’t see people out fat-shaming people as they stuff their second Big Mac down their throat.
And what of our children? There is nothing more maddening (or insane actually) than seeing young children being forced by their parents to wear masks, especially outside.
I attended my granddaughter’s soccer practice last weekend, and when we were walking through the parking lot, there was a mother (unmasked) with two children maybe four or five-years-old and both kids were wearing masks, outside and in 85-degree heat! This is absurd.
The damage that has been (and is being) done to our children is criminal.
Kids have spent most of the past 18 months out of school with some exceptions. The science said there was absolutely no reason why kids shouldn’t be in school, unmasked learning. But that wasn’t good enough for the teacher’s unions, who provided the Centers or Disease Control (CDC) with their “guidance” for reopening schools.
The fact of the matter is many (not all certainly) teachers didn’t want to be back in their classrooms. Why teach in snowy Chicago in classroom when you can remote teach from Clearwater Beach in Florida?
And who suffered for that? Our kids.
Statistically an overwhelming majority of children have fallen way behind where they should be at their grade level. Many will never recover. What has been done to our children is child abuse, plain and simple.
This brings us to Fauci. Why anyone still listens to the political diva is anyone’s guess. He has flip-flopped more than a seal at an aquarium. “Don’t wear a mask, wear a mask, wear two masks, wear goggles…”
You get the point. And now we’re finding out that masks don’t work, will not work, and have never worked…unless they are N-95 masks, which are prohibitively expensive.
Without digging too deep into the weeds, Fauci is a fraud. The information that has come forth over the past several weeks about his involvement in the Wuhan lab and gain of function research should prohibit him from ever speaking about COVID-19 again.
The fact that Biden has not (and will not) fire him tells you all you need to know about the Washington swamp.
Yet Fauci gets more airtime on CNN and MSNBC than their prime-time hosts. Nobody every presses him, nobody ever gives him anything but softball questions.
Perhaps the most sickening was a recent interview on MSNBC by Nicolle Wallace, who gushed over Fauci like a fangirl at a Justin Bieber concert. It was nauseating. You never see Fauci on Newsmax or Fox.
If he had any guts, he’d do an interview with someone like Mark Levin or Tucker Carlson. That will never happen because he might get asked real pressing questions.
Bottom line is this. We need to get over the mass hysteria. We’ve done it before, and we can do it again. Think of September 12, 2001. Our World Trade Center in New York lay in a heap of rubble in downtown Manhattan.
Our Pentagon, the symbol of our military might had a scar in the side of the building where a passenger jet had crashed into it, causing it to partially collapse. What did Americans do?
We pulled up our bootstraps, said “we are Americans” and got back to work. We did the same thing after the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. We didn’t cower in the corner…we fought back.
We showed the reason why we are the greatest country in the world. We did it before and we can do it again. Besides, we have a lot of important work to do.
Ditch the masks. Live your life. Breathe in the fresh air. This is America. Home of the free, land of the brave. Let’s act like it!
