USA-It’s a shame when you need to go to British press to hear the truth about Antifa.
The American version of the British tabloid The Sun reports that a spokesperson for the National Police Association, Sgt. Betsy Brantner Smith claimed the group is similar to terrorist group al-Qaeda, wanting America “burned to the ground,” while warning the group may in fact launch terrorist-style attacks.
Brantner Smith said that the group has among its rank a lot of “lone wolves” similar to what would be find in Islamic extremist groups such as al-Qaeda.
In an exclusive interview with The Sun, she said that the left-wing group, whom Joe Biden referred to as “an idea” in a debate with former President Donald Trump, compares favorably to al-Qaeda.
Antifa, ironically named as being “anti-fascist” is anything but, as we have increasingly seen over the past eight months. Antifa is primarily an anarchist group who rail against actions they purport to be racist, homophobic, authoritarian and xenophobic.
What they primarily are is a group of anti-American zealots intent on bringing down the United States.
Primarily since last May’s death of George Floyd in Minneapolis while in police custody, Antifa has engaged in violent riots in cities across the country, but primarily in Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington, which seem to be the hotbeds of anarchist activity in the United States.
The existence of Antifa has been downplayed, especially by Democrats like Biden, and has included some such as Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), who downplayed the existence of the group last year.
Brantner Smith said Antifa attempts to recruit individuals into the group who don’t conform to “societal norms” and may also exploit “vagrants” to bring them into Antifa. If you look at mug shots of these fools when they get arrested, the not conforming to “societal norms” is obvious.
Brantner Smith however claims that being non-conformists makes them dangerous, especially with the possibility of so-called “lone wolves,” who could potentially become radicalized much as Islamic terrorists and carry out attacks alone.
“They really love that whole ‘I’m an Antifa rebel’ and what Antifa does is they take care of those people. Those people who have no sense of belonging now have a sense of belonging,” she said.
“In a way, it’s similar to what al-Qaeda did or does. With al-Qaeda, there was a structure, and we knew who the leaders were. Then there were the ‘lone-wolves’ who were inspired by al-Qaeda but would do their own thing.”
The 29-year police veteran also slammed Joe Biden for his comment referring to Antifa as just an “idea”—insisting that “it is a dangerous group.”
Biden at the time was agreeing with a statement attributed to FBI Director Christopher Wray, who said: “[Antifa is] not a group or an organization. It’s a movement or an ideology.”
Antifa often coopts protests, demonstrations or anarchist riots conducted by other groups which protest the same issues, typically including groups such as Black Lives Matter and the so-called Occupy Wall Street protests which took place in 2011.
Brantner Smith, now retired insists that what Antifa stands for is opposition to the American idea.
“They really oppose the idea of America—just this great 200 and something year experiment that is America. They want it all burned down. They say that very explicitly. They want their own model of government.”

While Antifa has been around in one form or another since the 1980s, it became more prominent in recent years after the election of Donald Trump in 2016.
Last year Antifa grew in “prominence” again, primarily in Portland, where at one point there were over 100 straight nights of riots and where the federal courthouse was laid under siege for weeks.
The violence forced President Trump to deploy federal law enforcement agents to the courthouse to protect it.
Brantner Smith also slammed the Democrats “obsession” over the Capitol siege on January 6, where some alleged supporters of Trump stormed the Capitol.
During the siege, five people died, including Ashli Babbitt, a military veteran who was shot by someone believed to be a Capitol police officer. No information has been released on that officer, nor has the status of the investigation been released.
One Capitol police officer, Brian Sicknick died subsequent to the incident, and while an initial report in the New York Times said he was struck in the head with a fire extinguisher, that account was later determined to be a lie. While a specific cause has not been released, sources say he may have in fact died of a stroke.
Of the three other deaths, all were Trump supporters—one died of a heart attack, another of a stroke, while the third was allegedly trampled as people attempted to gain entry to the Capitol building.
Brantner Smith claims that Democrats are attempting to weaponize that event to give the impression that “all problems came from Trump and his supporters,” while ignoring the violence perpetrated for months by Antifa and Black Lives Matter.
In fact, Democrats literally refused to recognize the violence for months as cities burned, people were assaulted, and police officers were maimed, and some were killed.
“Over 200 people have been arrested and newspapers like USA Today are printing those people’s names, where they are from, what they did, all of that, you’ve never seen that in the last ten months during all the riots.
“No one ever did that. There’s an obsession with the Capitol riot. It was one riot on one day that lasted about six hours.”
As further evidence of Democrats “weaponizing” the Jan. 6 event, fences topped with razor wire, barricades, Jersey barriers and armed National Guard troops have been in place around the Capitol for nearly two months, with some sources saying they will remain there until September. It’s all about furthering a narrative.
Even when the United States was attacked on September 11, 2001, no such measures were put in place.
Speaking to Antifa again, Brantner Smith noted that Antifa receives funding through crowdfunding sites such as PayPal and GoFundMe—saying that it goes through “layers and layers and layers” prior to the money being distributed.
The Seattle Times reported last year that Antifa has been “emerging as a persistent militant voice” in the city last year.
The paper also reported that the group’s leaders are anonymous, and the group considers itself anti-capitalist along with being anti-fascist, with the goal being the overthrow of the US political system.
The retired officer went on to blame record homicide rates in the United States, particularly in major cities, on law enforcement being blamed for every problem the country faces and then being expected to deal with Antifa lunatics.
Last year saw the highest murder rate in American history, with a 50 percent increase in Chicago year over year, 30 percent increase in Los Angeles compared to 2019 and a 40 percent increase in New York City year over year.
Brantner Smith also sharply criticized people such as New York City mayor Bill de Blasio, who tried to lay the blame for the crime increase on “the fact that people are cooped up.”
In other words, he’s blaming the Chinese coronavirus, not New York’s failed criminal justice and bail reform initiatives, not the move to defund the police, not the politicians referring to police as Gestapo, Nazis and storm troopers.
“You can’t blame the pandemic,” she said. “You cannot vilify your law enforcement and then send them out to hunt down violent criminals.”
Lest anyone think Antifa is only anti-Republican, after Biden’s election was certified in January, Antifa terrorists clashed with police when they vandalized the Democratic headquarters in Oregon.
A message on a protest banner carried by Antifa activists read, “We don’t want Biden, we want revenge.”
Likewise, federal police were forced to fire tear gas at rioters who were throwing rocks and eggs at the Immigrations and Customs Enforcement building in Portland.
Up to 200 protesters had gathered outside the building as Federal Protective Services officers issued warnings to the demonstrators to leave federal property, as reported by KGW-TV.
The National Police Association is a non-profit organization that highlights “abuses of anti-police elected officials” which promotes policies that “encourage public officials to work with police in the public interest.”
