Report: Democratic candidate shut down ethics probe of legislator alleged of sexual conduct involving minors

MAINE – According to reports, a Democratic Senate candidate was alleged to have thwarted an ethics probe regarding a Democratic colleague back in 2018 regarding teenage girls that were allegedly sexually abused by the individual.

Senate candidate Sara Gideon was said to have pushed Democrats to vote against an ethics investigation regarding how her office, the Maine House of Representatives, dealt with allegations of sexual misconduct against Democratic state legislator Dillon Bates.

Funny how when these allegations first cropped up in the rumor mill, Gideon did nothing – considering that Gideon has a history of being critical against Justice Kavanaugh who was railroaded by superfluous and unsubstantiated allegations of raping a woman while in high school.

Paula Sutton is the Republican state legislator who pushed for the ethics probe, within Sutton noting that Gideon appeared to be more vested in party loyalty rather than looking into these allegations against Bates:

“Sara Gideon had an opportunity for full transparency, and she voted it down. They just want to crush the problem, because they’re afraid to deal with it. It’s just a lack of courage—a complete lack of conviction and courage.”

In mid-August of 2018, Bates had resigned after an article was published that alleged he groomed several female high school students during his time as a teacher. To be fair, when the article was published on August 3rd of 2018 when the allegations were revealed against Bates, Gideon did call for him to resign.

During the period when these allegations surfaced online in the media, Gideon stated the following:

“The allegations made against Rep. Bates are deeply troubling. I cannot condone this behavior, I value the voices of the young women who came forward and I have requested that Rep. Bates resign from office immediately.”

But after said resignation, that was when Sutton pushed for there to be an ethics probe as to whether Gideon was complicit in trying to either cover up or engage in damage control (for lack of a better term) in an effort to quietly shutter the hubbub prior to Bates’ resignation.

The reason for the requested probe was because Gideon had known about the allegations against Bates for “several months” before the August 3rd, 2018 was ever published, according to Gideon’s spokeswoman Mary-Erin Casale.

Casale explained that when Gideon’s office had heard about the rumors against Bates in the months prior, that they would only take action against Bates if there was anything to substantiate said rumors:

“At that point, we told Rep. Bates that if any evidence or new information was presented that indicated there could be truth to what was then a rumor, that we would ask him to resign immediately.”

But the article in question that alleged the sexual misconduct didn’t exactly provide proof outside of citing an anonymous source that claimed they were a victim and knew of two other victims. Yet, this article that surfaced on August 3rd somehow magically compelled Gideon to ask Bates to resign.

An ethics probe would’ve forced Gideon to explain what these rumors were that she had been privy to for months prior to the article being published, which is what Sutton wanted to get to the bottom to. But 64 out of 73 Democrats voted against said probe, 8 Democrats abstained and only one approved of the probe.

The way Sutton sees it, Gideon figured that since Bates had resigned then she was basically in the clear from having to speak on the matter further:

“I just think Gideon just didn’t want to deal with it. Once he resigned, it was over and done in their eyes, and they wanted to move on to other things.”

The situation does make one wonder what exactly it was that Gideon had heard prior to the published article. While no criminal charges were ever filed against Bates regarding the allegations, he has since removed himself from the world of politics.

But it’s also worthy of note, that while there were no criminal charges, the month following the printed allegations against Bates the Maine Department of Education also refused to renew Bates’ teaching certification.

More than 17,000 sign petition for police to prosecute Pelosi for violations over salon visit

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – A petition is gaining traction as thousands of people sign, calling for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to be prosecuted for COVID-19 “violations” after she was seen in a hair salon that was ordered closed by the California governor and she was without a mask.

According to reports, more than 17,000 people have already signed the petition. The petition needs 25,000 signatures to urge San Francisco Police Chief William Scott to move forward and prosecute the California Democrat.

In addition to the petition, there is a letter addressed to Scott saying:

“Laws aren’t just for the ‘little people.’ Not only did Nancy Pelosi knowingly violate health ordinances, but just destroyed a business because she couldn’t take an ounce of responsibility. At a very minimum, Nancy Pelosi must be prosecuted by San Francisco for her flaunting of COVID regulations. Now!”

In video surveillance obtained by Fox News, Pelosi can be seen walking through the eSalon in San Francisco without a mask. Pelosi has loudly voiced her support for “full” lockdowns over COVID-19 and continually advocates for a national mask policy. It seems a national mandate would be “optional” for her, since she violated California’s entire state mask mandate.

The 81-year-old career politician took her time in coming up with a “defense” to why she was at a closed salon without a mask during a nationwide pandemic. She claims, it was all a setup.

Pelosi said:

“I take responsibility for trusting the word of the neighborhood salon that I’ve been to over the years many times and when they said, ‘We’re able to accommodate people one person at a time,’ I trusted that.”

She then added:

“So, I take responsibility for falling for a setup and that’s all I’m going to say on that. I think that this salon owes me an apology, for setting me up.”

ESalonSF owner Erica Kious appeared on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” and denied Pelosi’s claim of being a victim of a “setup” as being “absolutely false.” She said that Pelosi was serviced by an independent stylist who rents chairs in her salon.

Kious said that she decided to share the now-viral security camera footage when she saw Pelosi indoors without a mask in what she called a “hurtful” display of hypocrisy amid the widely spread and deadly coronavirus pandemic.

Kious said:

“There was no way I could’ve set that up. I’ve had a camera system in there for five years. I mean, I didn’t go in there and turn cameras on as soon as she walked in and set her up. So, that is absolutely false.”

She said that due to the incident she is closing her salon doors. She said:

“I started to get a ton of phone calls, text messages, emails, all my Yelp reviews saying that they hope I go under and that I fail. So, just a lot of negativity towards my business.”

She added:

“I’m actually afraid to go back just because of the messages and emails I’ve been getting. It’s a little scary and sad. I do have a lot of positive calls and text messages from clients, but other than that nothing but negativity.”

Kious does have supporters helping her, and a GoFundMe page has also been set up which has already reached its goal of $300,000.

According to reports, salons in San Francisco had been closed for months, but were allowed to start reopening for outdoor service the day after Pelosi’s visit. In California, face masks are always required during approved services and required statewide when social distancing cannot be maintained.

Pelosi’s office said in a statement:

“The Speaker always wears a mask and complies with local COVID requirements. This business offered the Speaker to come in on a Monday and told her they were allowed by the city to have one customer at a time in the business. The Speaker complied with the rules as presented to her by this establishment.”

President Trump also criticized Pelosi in an online tweet:

“Crazy Nancy Pelosi is being decimated for having a beauty parlor opened, when all others are closed and for not wearing a mask, despite constantly lecturing everyone else. We will almost certainly take back the House and send Nancy packing!”

Here is another article from Law Enforcement Today for more about Pelosi’s hair salon visit:

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Protesters that do not buy Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s claim that she was unaware of going into a salon was a violation of the stay at home order given by the Governor showed up around her house.  The peaceful protesters did not commit vandalism nor burned any flags.

Instead, this group hung up blow dryers in the trees outside of her home.

On September 3rd, over twelve women showed up at the Speaker’s residence wearing curlers and wrapped in plastic smocks to voice their peaceful displeasure.  The group was unhappy with the double standard Pelosi showed when she went to get her hair taken care of against the current lockdown orders given by the Governor.

Videos of the protest were posted on social media which showed the group placing the hair dryers and curlers into trees around Pelosi’s home.

The group also gave speeches and criticized her visit saying that it was hypocritical.

One of the protesters said:

“I just want to say one thing to Nancy Pelosi: Get out of the salon and get back to work and pass a Covid relief bill in Washington.  Work with the Republicans, work with the Democrats, work with the independents, we don’t care. Get the job done.”

The incident came to light recently, as reported by LET in which an assistant to Pelosi contacted the salon and requested an appointment.  The stylist was not sure what to do and contacted her boss who did not know.

The end result was Pelosi, third in line for the presidency, showed up for her appointment.

Pelosi claims that the salon contacted her and told her they were allowed to accommodate one person inside at a time.  While that excuse may be believable for the average person, someone who is as powerful as Pelosi certainly knows better.

Not to mention, she actively advocates for the shutdown of the United States over the pandemic.

Many people were upset over Pelosi after this incident was reported, especially other salon workers who have been forced to close since the order came out.  Although salons were allowed to open on August 31st, they were only allowed to perform services outside and patrons were required to wear a mask.

Something of which Pelosi, in her position, should be knowledgeable.

After Pelosi’s team initially denied that the Speaker did not wear a mask and followed all protocols while indoors, they quickly changed course when the video surveillance was given to Fox News.  Now, Pelosi is saying that she was “setup” by the salon and still denies she knew her going inside was against the regulations.

Pelosi said:

“I take responsibility for trusting the word of a neighborhood salon that I’ve been to over the years many times.  And that when they said they could accommodate people one person at a time and that we could set up that time, I trust that.

“As it turns out, it was a setup.  So, I take responsibility for falling for a setup.”

Erica Kious denies that there was any setup involved regarding Pelosi’s visit and told Fox News that she does not owe any apology to the Speaker of the House.

Kious said:

“Mrs. Pelosi owes the entire country an apology.  If America goes in front of Congress and lies, they go to jail.  But apparently, when the most powerful woman in the world lies to America, we owe her an apology.”

President Donald Trump weighed in on the “Hairgate Scandal” with a tweet, saying:
“Does anyone want a Speaker of the House who can be so easily SET UP?”

On September 3rd, White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany played the Pelosi salon surveillance video during the briefing.

She then told reporters:

“Apparently, the rules do not apply to Speaker Nancy Pelosi.  She wants small businesses to stay shut down but only reopen for her convenience.”
