WASHINGTON, DC- Sometimes, an institution is so broken that it is not repairable. For the past several years, Law Enforcement Today as well as other reputable media outlets have laid out the vast corruption that seems to be undermining what was once a shining star in the realm of law enforcement; that shining star was the FBI.
Now some are calling for that agency to be disbanded and to have the federal government start from scratch. We are beginning to see the point.
Corruption within the FBI is of course nothing new. Everyone has heard of the old J. Edgar Hoover days.
However back then, Hoover wasn’t necessarily trying to undermine the whole of government, but rather was targeting individuals, the most prominent among them the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Today however it is much more egregious, not to mention potentially fatal to our republic and that is the agency’s interference in the last two presidential elections in 2016 and 2020.
The Federalist reports that last week, news broke that the FBI had “falsely labeled verified intelligence and credible evidence” against Joe Biden’s crackhead son, Hunter Biden as “disinformation” in order to steer an investigation of him away in the lead up to the 2020 election.
Whereas previously it appeared that only big tech and the major media networks engaged in a quiet but obvious conspiracy to deep six any mention of the Hunter Biden laptop, now it appears it was an alliance between the Democratic Party, big tech, the major media outlets and federal law enforcement agencies.
As The Federalist notes, the significance of the most recent development cannot be overstated, although once again major media outlets are ignoring it.
Information about the FBI’s overt disregard of evidence emanating from the laptop proves that for the second consecutive general election, the FBI interfered in an attempt to steer the election (in these cases) away from Donald Trump and toward the Democrats. It was only by dumb luck (and failure to understand Trump’s reach) that they failed in 2016.
John Daniel Davidson, writing in The Federalist wrote that “the FBI is a threat to democracy and that it should be disbanded.” We agree.
Sadly, there are some excellent agents working for the FBI, however as the saying goes, a fish rots from the head down. And in the case of the FBI, that head is rotting and has been rotting even though the agency had two different directors in 2016 and 2020. The agency is irreparable.
All of this came about as Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) released a letter last week addressed to Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray.
In that letter, Grassley wrote that numerous “highly credible whistleblowers” came forward and revealed “a scheme in place among certain FBI officials to undermine derogatory information connected to Hunter Biden by falsely suggesting it was disinformation.”
One network that did report on the latest development was CBS News, and that is only because former Fox News correspondent, now with CBS, Catherine Herridge, one of the few honest reporters in Washington, D.C., reported on it.
NEW: Multiple “highly credible” FBI whistleblowers have come forward to senior Senate Republican @ChuckGrassley alleging widespread effort to downplay or discredit negative information about the President 's son Hunter Biden, according to letters @CBSNews https://t.co/hw5kGiTFVv pic.twitter.com/xAgMcpdXMu

As a result of the FBI’s malfeasance which occurred in the summer and fall of 2020, an investigation into Hunter Biden’s “criminal financial and related activity,” initially started as an investigation into his taxes, was quashed just before the November 2020 election.
Grassley said that due to the “volume and consistency of these allegations,” they appear to “substantiate their [whistleblowers] credibility and necessitate this letter.”
We’ve written numerous times about the two standards of justice in the United States, in particular inside the Washington, D.C. swamp.
All one needs to look at is the disparate treatment of people whose only crime was trespassing and/or parading at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, versus DC insiders like Michael Sussman and that tells you all you need to know.
The FBI ignored a story that by all intents and purposes puts our national security at risk and instead started a mission to target school parents who exercised their First Amendment rights at school board meetings.
Grassley’s letter, were it to be given proper daylight by the media, is something that is utterly shocking and one which should piss off every American regardless of whether they have a “D” or an “R” after their name. Moreover, it was some of the same FBI agents who interfered in the 2016 election who came back in 2020 for Act II.
For example, whistleblowers reported that FBI supervisory intelligence agent Brian Auten in 2020 “opened an assessment” of an ongoing FBI probe into Hunter Biden. That assessment was then used by the agency to “improperly discredit negative Hunter Biden information as disinformation and caused investigative activity to cease.”
Who is Brian Auten? Another swamp rat who was prominently involved in the 2016 Crossfire Hurricane investigation into the Trump campaign that served as the basis for the whole Russia collusion hoax, and which detracted from at least the first 2-3 years of the Trump administration. Auten was charged with verifying the bogus Steele dossier, however never flagged “its many errors and inconsistencies.”
Auten was the agent who interviewed Igor Danchenko, currently awaiting trial in Washington, D.C. in connection with Special Counsel John Durham’s investigation into the Russia collusion hoax.
You may recall that Danchenko was the main source for the Steele dossier’s absurd claims about Trump; Auten interviewed him three times, during which Danchenko debunked claims of collusion between the Trump campaign and Moscow, which raised “serious doubt about the reliability of the dossier,” The Federalist wrote.
Auten was also in charge of reviewing the bogus FISA warrant application for Carter Page, a Trump campaign official, an application which relied on the phony dossier.
Inspector General Michael Horowitz, in his report on FISA issues, wrote that Auten “failed to advise his superiors of the inconsistencies between the Steele dossier” and Danchenko, which included allegations against Page.
Oh, but it continues. There are also allegations contained in Grassley’s letter from whistleblowers that Timothy Thibault, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Washington field office “ordered closed” an “avenue of additional derogatory Hunter Biden reporting” in October 2020, about a month ahead of the 2020 election without providing a reason. This was done in violation of FBI guidelines, which require reports be “verified or verifiable via criminal search warrants.”
In other words, Thibault closed the investigation despite the fact that he, as well as others at the agency, knew much of what had thus far been discovered was in fact true.
Thibault was quite public in his partisanship via his social media, the content of which served in part to prompt Grassley to draft a May letter accusing him of violating federal law as well as FBI regulations for a “pattern of active public partisanship in his then public social media content.”
Grassley also alleged in his letter that Thibault and other FBI officials, in order to make sure any further investigation into Hunter Biden was not reopened, “attempted to improperly mark the matter in FBI systems so that it could not be opened in the future.” This folks is what you call deep state corruption and is the hallmark of the “DC Swamp” former President Trump warned the nation about.
While it is unknown if Grassley’s sources are telling the truth, given Congress’s past faith in whistleblowers, if they are, Davidson writes, there is “at the very least…a conspiracy inside the FBI to suppress an investigation into Joe Biden’s son in the months before the election.”
What the latest revelations about the 2020 election and the previous information about the 2016 election show is that the FBI has among its agents rogue individuals who are not acting in a non-partisan, apolitical manner.
Many individuals who voted for Joe Biden in the 2020 election have said if they knew about the laptop they would have voted differently played into the mindset of these rogue FBI agents.
With Trump working to clear out the DC swamp, which would have possibly included rogue assets from within the FBI, these reprobates from within the agency knew that the laptop could possibly Biden’s chances.
Having lost the opportunity in 2016 versus Clinton, they probably knew they had to bury the Hunter Biden laptop story, which they, along with big tech and the mainstream media succeeded in, at least initially.
If we had a Congress that was more interested in ensuring the integrity of our government instead of about protecting their political hide, there would be a push to find the underlying cause of the Hunter Biden laptop coverup. If the House can initiate a January 6 commission, they sure as hell have more than enough cause to initiate a congressional investigation into the Biden laptop.
If we had a Department of Justice with an attorney general with a lick of integrity, there would be a special counsel appointed. In other words as Davidson recommends, “the FBI and the Justice Department need to give Grassley everything he asked for.”
A significant portion of the American people have lost all faith in the FBI and Department of Justice. Neither can hope to restore that faith and confidence if they stand by and let these rogue agents get away with it.
The only hope for any type of query is if Republicans regain control of the House in November. If they do, and if the allegations outlined in Grassley’s letter are true, then someone needs to be held to account and those individuals need to be extricated from the FBI and if necessary, prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
The issue is of course that all of this was allowed to happen, and one would have to be naïve to think it happened without getting the blessing of someone way up top, possibly to the director level.
If that is in fact true, the FBI is not salvageable and the agency should be disbanded. Davidson says disbanded or defunded…we say the latter won’t make a difference. Time to start over. And take DHS and the CIA while you’re at it.
