PITTSBURGH, PA- Here’s a story you probably haven’t heard about, mainly because it doesn’t fit the narrative.
This past Sunday in Pittsburgh, a black man stabbed a 12-year-old boy in the neck with a box cutter at a McDonald’s while screaming racist names at him, Graham Allen reported.
CNN affiliate KDKA said police arrested Charles Edward Turner, 51 after the 2:00 p.m. incident. Authorities said Turner faces multiple charges, including criminal attempt to commit homicide, and four counts of aggravated assault. He is being held at Allegheny County Jail.
The child was transported to the hospital where he was initially listed in critical condition, however his condition has since been upgraded to stable, the outlet said. Officers said there did not appear to be any type of relationship between the suspect and the boy.
Police said that two employees of the McDonald’s intervened to help the child, according to Cara Cruz, deputy public information officer for the Pittsburgh Public Safety department.
“He was with his family, he was standing in line, they had just zipped in for one quick thing,” Cruz told KDKA.
Police have been unable to ascertain a motive for the unprovoked attack.
Police said detectives from the Major Crimes and Crime Scene Units conducted an investigation at the scene, as well as analyzing video evidence and speaking with eyewitnesses.
Fox News, citing a KDKA report said the man was standing in line behind the boy and his family when he suddenly stabbed the boy.
From the Pittsburgh Post¸ “According to police, the boy was stabbed in the neck inside the McDonald’s at Liberty Avenue and Stanwix Street near Market Square around 2 p.m.”
Officers Ross Small, Harry Siwik and Steve Harris sustained minor injuries during the fracas. The two McDonald’s employees, David Lewandowski and Henry Seifried were also injured.
The Post continued, “According to the criminal complaint, Mr. Turner fought with officers as they tried to arrest him. The complaint alleges that Mr. Turner used racial slurs against officers, patrons, and employees during his arrest and bit one of the witnesses.”
Allen noted a local Pittsburgh television station reported that Turner was uttering “white devils” and other racial slurs at the scene of the crime, clearly making this a hate crime.
The Post-Gazette left out the details of the slurs Turner used during the attack on the boy.
The police report also said, “In the criminal complaint, a witness told police that Mr. Turner tackled the child from behind; when people tried to pull Mr. Turner away they noticed the child’s neck was slashed.”
Officials said Turner has a lengthy criminal record and has been arrested numerous times for crimes such as “aggravated assault, aggravated harassment by a prisoner, and simple assault, with crimes going back to the 1980’s,” according to Gateway Pundit.
Ironically (or not), despite making clearly racist comments as he carried out his attack, Turner has not been charged with a hate crime.
As Allen notes, had the roles (or races) been reversed, the media would have reported this incident quite differently, breathlessly blaming a “white supremacist” for attacking a “person of color.”
As an example of media bias, Allen cited the horrific shooting in Boulder, Colorado this week. Initially, the media (and Twitter mob) immediately jumped to the conclusion that the shooter was a “white supremacist” and further that “all mass shootings are done by white males.”

As soon as it was learned that the shooter wasn’t white but in fact a Muslim from Syria, they completely backed off the racial narrative and transitioned to making it about guns.

Ironically with the shooting last week in Atlanta, where six of the victims were Asian-Americans, guns were barely mentioned. Why? It didn’t fit the narrative.
Last year, Law Enforcement Today reported on a horrific crime in Aurora, Colorado where a white man was brutally attacked by a black suspect for no reason. For more on that, we invite you to:
AURORA, CO – A horrifying attack on a man in Colorado this week has resulted in the charging of a hate crime.
On Tuesday at about 6 P.M., 29 year-old Michael Conner, a white male, was peacefully walking his dog when he was approached by Steve Anthony Sinclair, a 30 year-old black male. Sinclair was carrying two steak knives.
According to one witness, Sinclair said to Conner:
“I’m going to kill you and your dog”.
He then attacked him with a knife, stabbing him repeatedly while shouting “Black Lives Matter! Black Lives Matter!” Conner tried to run away, then to defend himself with a stick, but he was overpowered by Sinclair.
Aurora Police Department officer Alexander Diz was dispatched to 16305 E. Alameda Pl. on a report of a fight in which one person had been stabbed.
On arrival, Diz found the suspect, Sinclair, with blood on his hands and chest. Sinclair approached the officer, saying “Black Lives Matter.”
He admitted to stabbing Conner and added “I’m a psychopath”.
Sinclair did not cooperate when Diz repeatedly asked him to sit at the curb. Instead, he wanted officers to shoot him. When they refused, he suggested they tase him.
Sinclair was taken into custody and charged with attempted murder and hate crimes.
The hate crime charge was based on his repeated use of the epithet “Black Lives Matter!”
Finally, official recognition that the phrase “Black Lives Matter” can constitute “hate speech” and be the basis for a hate crime charge.
According to Conner, the attack left him with a collapsed lung and a punctured diaphragm. Sinclair, it turns out, lives at the same apartment complex as Conner, just one building away.
“I have a kid at home. It’s just so scary.”
According to Conner’s girlfriend:
“He ruined our small little happy life right now. He can’t work for six weeks.”
They both stated they intended to move as soon as they can because they don’t feel safe at their apartment.
A Gofundme campaign has been started to help pay for Conner’s medical bills and expenses while he recuperates from Sinclair’s racist attack. You can contribute here.
So far, the campaign has raised $8,038 of a $15,000 goal.
This is in contrast to Jacob Blake, a felon who was shot while carrying a deadly weapon, resisting arrest, and endangering children, whose Gofundme campaign has now raised $2 million.
Contributions are particularly appreciated since the attack on Conner isn’t getting the same attention as other recent attacks for some reason.
So far, his story has only appeared in four news sources, none of which are major outlets. CNN, MSNBC, CBS, the New York Times, The Washington Post, even the Denver Post have yet to react to this story, assuming they ever will.
Maybe Sinclair’s ethnicity is a problem because he is the perpetrator, not the “victim”.
The word “victim” is in quotes because getting wounded in an altercation doesn’t automatically confer victim status, as the media should know.
Apparently they haven’t ever heard of the concepts “resisting arrest”, “self-defense” and “criminal threatening” because they typically write about all wounded black men as if they are “victims” of whoever wounded them, regardless of the reason.
For instance, describing 6′ 4″ 283-pound Michael Brown as a victim of police officer Darren Wilson is a stretch.
Forensic evidence in that case shows that Brown had powder residue in a contact wound on his thumb. This corresponded to a hole that entered the inside driver’s door and exited outside the vehicle.
Together, this indicates that, as officer Wilson testified, Brown had his hand on his gun inside the car, as he struggled to take it from the officer.
Brown was not a victim of Wilson. He was shot in self-defense. If he hadn’t it is likely Wilson would have been shot by Brown instead, with his own gun.
Other cases are no less egregious, where black criminals have been wounded during the commission of crimes, resisting arrest, or attacking others, and they are consistently described as “victims” of law enforcement.
Now we have a case of a white victim of a black man prior to any involvement by law enforcement, and the story isn’t that interesting to the mainstream press.
This, despite a laser-like focus on “racism in America”. Talk about a clear cut example of racism, this is it.
Sinclair as much as said he attacked Conner because he was white, because “Black Lives Matter”. It was charged as a bias crime because it is an example of genuine racism.
This case is utterly unlike so-called examples provided by the media of “systemic racism” among our nation’s law enforcement officers. In those cases, officers have usually been called to a location due to a disturbance.
That means, the officers could not have targeted the victim in advance. They do not attempt any violence against the suspect on arrival and, as in the George Floyd case, treat the suspect and other people of the same race respectfully.
It is only when the suspect resists arrest or behaves suspiciously while disobeying lawful instructions that force, sometimes deadly force, is applied.
Any Monday morning quarterback can question the way officers deal with these situations but one thing they do not look like are examples of racism, systemic or otherwise.
Now though, thanks to the precedent set by Steve Anthony Sinclair, we have an example of genuine racism being charged as a hate crime.
Too often, hate crimes have been alleged and even prosecuted with insufficient basis for the charge of bias-inspired criminal conduct.
Charging people with bias crimes regardless of evidence makes a mockery of bias crime laws.
If those laws are to have any meaning, they should be used only when genuine bias can be demonstrated, rather than a difference in the skin color of assailant and victim, which by itself cannot possibly satisfy any reasonable standard for bias.

Suspect Ty Sheem Ha Sheen Walters has been charged

Charles Wall was driving to his stepdaughter’s, 21-year-old Laura Anderson, new home that she had just finished moving into. Anderson had accidentally locked herself out of the house and had called Wall to bring by a spare set of keys so she could get back inside.
Anderson was waiting outside of the home for Wall when he arrived.
Wall was slowing to pull into the driveway of the home when police allege that Ty Sheem Walters, III, rear-ended Wall close to 5pm. The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office then allege that Walters exited his vehicle and shot Wall, Anderson, and another person at the scene, Paul McConnell.
When police arrived on scene, they learned that one of the victims had already been transported to the hospital while a second was being given CPR. They then noted a third person who was walking around the area in an altered mental state with a gunshot wound to his left wrist.
Police arrest warrants allege that Walters fired his gun at Wall first, which struck him at least twice, about his head and torso. He then fired and struck Anderson in the head at least once. McConnell, was also struck and then hit in the head by Walters.
McConnell is expected to survive.
Walters immediately fled the scene and attempted to hide in a nearby set of woods. Police set up a perimeter in the area and deployed canine units to assist in the search. Walters was located and taken into custody.

Kimberly Wall, the mother of Anderson and wife of Charles old WMBF:
“I’m having to bury one of my children and husband. It’s such a freak thing. I don’t know why this would happen. I just don’t understand. It’s just devasting. I don’t know how we’re going to go forward.”
Family friend Lynn Lambert, told WPDE:
“I don’t understand how a simple fender bender they called it could turn into double murder and attempted murder. Why? I honestly didn’t think it was real. Who does this?”
Lambert said that Anderson:
“…wanted to be a teacher like her momma. She was getting ready to start school. She was getting everything in order. Everything was starting to fall in place for her. She won’t get to get married, she won’t get to have children.”
Jenna Johnson, Anderson’s aunt, said:
“They both mean so much to so many people. Anyone who’s ever met or known Laura or Nick, they knew two of the most wonderful people. My niece was simply a gorgeous person inside and out. She had a very positive bubbly personality. She was starting school next week to become a teacher just like her mom.”
Johnson continued, Anderson “had a very close relationship with her mom, Kimberly, who’s my sister-in-law; and she absolutely adored her siblings, especially her little sister Jenna, who has Down’s syndrome. She’s [Kimberly] an amazing sister-in-law, amazing daughter, amazing mother, and a wife and I just can’t imagine what she’s going through right now.”
Walters was arrested and charged for two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder and illegal possession of a firearm in the case. On August 26th, he appeared before a judge at a bond hearing where he was held without granting of any bond.
Kimberly Wall had the opportunity to speak to the judge at the bond hearing. She said that the shooting occurred within three miles of where she lives and said that Walters took her “best friends” away from her.
Across the line in North Carolina, officials are investigating another potential hate crime as well.
GARNER, NC- On Saturday, August 15, 17-year-old Veronica Lee Baker was found in the parking lot of a Bojangles restaurant in Garner, North Carolina, shot to death. This past Wednesday, her alleged killer was taken into custody. Why haven’t you heard about this? Well Veronica was white, and her alleged killer(s) were black. In other words, it doesn’t fit the narrative.
According to the U.S. Sun, Baker was shot to death inside her car. She graduated from Garner High School this past June, and was scheduled to start classes at Wake Community College in the fall, according to her father.
Police were called to the Bojangles fast food restaurant in Garner, located a short distance from Raleigh on Saturday, August 15th, on the report of an unresponsive person inside a car in the parking lot. Arriving officers found Baker inside the still running car, where she was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Raleigh News & Observer.
This past Monday, Garner police released the 911 call reporting the incident, in which a man is heard saying that he sees a girl in a running vehicle who did not appear to be breathing.
The caller said:
“There’s a car with the doors wide open and there’s a girl who is unresponsive,
“It doesn’t look like she’s breathing.”
The caller indicated that he had tried to shake the girl, however she was unresponsive.
Yet a second person on the call said that the car had been in the parking lot for a while, however they didn’t realize something was wrong.
The second person said:
“I went on lunch. I went on my break a few minutes ago, sir, and when I came back the door was open. I didn’t pay no attention,”
Wednesday, August 19th, police charged 17-year-old Devin Cordell Jones with murder in connection with Baker’s shooting. Police also arrested three other people in connection with the shooting.
Officials said that Keyshara Michelle Deans, 19, Nezyiha Zamier Collins, 19, and Tyreek Qumay Rodgers, 18, helped Jones in fleeing the crime scene.
All three have been charged with felony accessory to murder.
Court records said that Deans was the one who allegedly drove Jones away from the crime scene, while the other two suspects are accused of fleeing North Carolina with Jones after the murder.
Officials told CBS17 that the three accessories were all being held on bond; Collins and Rodgers on $500,000 secured bonds each, with Deans being held on a $1.015 million dollar bond. She was also facing charges dating back to June, which are not related to Baker’s killing.
Jones did not appear in court because he is a minor, police said.

Baker’s friends and neighbors described the teen as sweet and lovely, saying that she had her whole life ahead of her.
Baker’s father, Jim Baker said that his daughter knew the accused killer, speaking to the News & Observer.
“I’ve seen him at school. They started hanging around sophomore year,”
Baker said he was sitting in the living room with his family when he received the phone call that police had made arrests in the case.
“I got the phone call right at 11,”
“Holy crap, it’s Detective Rigsbee,”
Baker said that he was relieved that police had made an arrest in his daughter’s murder.
Baker recalls saying:
“Oh my God, they got ‘em!”
In his interview, Baker said that he did not know the older suspects, however recognized Jones. He said that Jones and his daughter were friends, which is possibly why she allowed him in her car.
He believes that the motivation for the killing may have been robbery. Jones said that perhaps the fact that Baker and his family took trips together may have given rise to the belief that his daughter had a lot of money, her father said.
Police said Tuesday night Keyshara Michelle Deans, Nezyiha Zamir Collins, and Tyreek Qumay Rodgers, were charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

He continued that her daughter knew how to defend herself and may have actually fought back. Baker, a retired Marine, said that he had trained Veronica how to use a knife and pepper spray.
Baker noted how Veronica had loved to go camping.
Kendall Anne who is a family friend, said:
“Almost every weekend we would go camping at my parents’ lake property in Bunn,”
“She was always so happy. So, kind. She was never selfish,”
“She worried about everyone she cared about. She would literally give you the shirt off her back.”
Jim Baker said that Veronica worked part-time at Harris Teeter, as well as in his RV repair business. She had learned to estimate the cost of a camper or an RV just by looking at one, he said. She had picked out her father’s most recent RV purchase.
Camping was an activity they enjoyed together as a family, and Baker said that going camping going forward would be difficult, as his wife wants him to sell the camper.
“My wife said yesterday that she never wanted to go camping again,”
Veronica’s funeral was set for Saturday, and a GoFundMe has been set up or her family.
