Gooden: GOP will investigate illegal immigrant smuggling networks “funded by Biden administration”

WASHINGTON, D.C.- According to Rep. Lance Gooden (R-TX), if voters give the GOP a House majority in this coming November’s election, then GOP legislators will move forward and investigate and expose the illegal immigrant smuggling networks that are allegedly being funding by Biden’s administration.

In a statement to Mark Krikorian, director of the Center for Immigration Studies, Gooden said:

“Many of these migrants are being aided, in fact, by [U.S.] nonprofits who are using our tax dollars to do the aiding and helping them across, helping them get on airplanes without documentation, helping them to evade court hearing and helping them to burrow into society and evade any questions from law enforcement.”

Gooden added:

“It is just stunning to me that we are giving money to anybody that’s not a U.S. citizen – much less someone who’s come into this country the wrong way.”

Reportedly, when the migrants are south of the U.S. border, they are being supported by the United Nations and Mexican-based aid groups. Of this, Gooden said:

“The United Nations … is receiving support from the US government, among others. And [it is] helping sponsor these caravans [of migrants], they’re giving them debit cards, providing them with financial assistance throughout their journey to the U.S. border.”

According to Gooden, the migrants who cross the U.S. border also get support from a U.S.-based network of Non-Government Organizations [NGOs]. He added:

“When the [migrants] get to the border, they try to claim asylum status, which has to be determined through a proper hearing. But, during the time that they are waiting for their trial day, they are aided by these NGOs.”

He continued by saying:

“You’ve heard me talk about Catholic Charities, Jewish Family Council, [and] the Lutherans [which] are involved.

What they do is they go to the border and take these asylum seekers from [the Department of Homeland Security, DHS]. They’re paid by [DHS] to provide aid.

So, there’s an incentive to bring in more people because the more people that the Catholic Charities [or] the Jewish Family Council bring in, the more money they get from the U.S. government.

It is a way that the administration has helped to aid – and in fact fund – the invasion of our nation.”

If the GOP gains a majority in Congress for 2023, it will be able to investigate the NGOs’ activities and their funding sources, Gooden stated. He predicted:

“What they’re doing is encouraging human trafficking, they’re emboldening the cartels, and they are making the problem much worse.

I believe it’s criminal … I think that is important to the American people to know that these groups – who in the past have done really great work – are now in cahoots with the government with the United Nations and indirectly with the cartels, and they’re bringing people across our border and shuttling them across the United States.”

He added:

“I believe that the [GOP] leadership in our U.S. House is keenly aware that the biggest issue to the voters – aside from inflation – is immigration … So, I’m very confident that the leaders of our house will hold hearings [in 2023] … We’re already making preparations – not measuring the drapes! – to be prepared to govern when we take over in a year.”

According to Gooden, a GOP-run majority in the House will be able to control the agencies’ spending and impeach homeland security chief Alejandro Mayorkas or even President Joe Biden, He added:

“Come January, though, when we are in power, we will do whatever the oversight role of Congress requires to ensure that this administration is held accountable. If they’ve broken the law, whether it’s a secretary or the President himself, if impeachment is the answer, then impeachment will be the action.”

He stated:

“I have full confidence in the Republican majority … to execute the will of the American people and the mandate that I believe they’ll give us in November.”

According to Fox News, on Wednesday, February 23rd, Gooden introduced legislation to remove federal funding from U.S. nonprofit organizations that help facilitate illegal entry into the United States.

The Stop Federal Funding for Human Trafficking and Smuggling Act would direct the head of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to require federal contracts and grants to be contingent on organizations certifying that they are not involved in either human trafficking or human smuggling, fraud or bribery at the U.S. border.

Reportedly, if that certification is not done, then the funding must be repaid back to the government. It would apply to any nonprofit awarded federal funding or that has a contract or award with the federal government.

The legislation is co-sponsored by House Republican Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY), House Budget Committee ranking member Jason Smith (R-MO), and 19 other House Republicans.

New policy issued by Biden’s DHS targets ICE agents who are trying to arrest illegal immigrants

February 16th, 2022

WASHINGTON, D.C.- According to a report from Breitbart News, Biden’s top Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officers are issuing a new memo that is likely to further cripple Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents’ ability to arrest illegal immigrants.

In a class-action lawsuit that was filed by several open borders organizations and groups, advocates demanded recourse for illegal immigrants who were arrested by ICE agents as part of “collateral arrests” in traffic stops and often without a judicial warrant.

As a result of the suit, a settlement was approved at the beginning of February by the District Court for the Northern District of Illinois that will severely inhibit ICE agents’ ability to arrest illegal immigrants, particularly in the midwest.

DHS is set to issue a new nationwide policy that will require ICE agents to consider a variety of factors before arresting illegal immigrants in traffic stops and without a warrant.

Specifically, ICE agents will only be allowed to make traffic stop arrests if they have reasonable suspicion to believe that illegal immigrants are in the vehicle.

The new policy will also require ICE officials to document the legal basis for each traffic stop arrest of an illegal immigrant and agents will have to undergo new training measures to comply with the policies.

In certain states like Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Missouri, Kansas, and Kentucky the settlement allows illegal immigrants who were arrested by ICE agents via a traffic stop or without a warrant to seek recourse by being released from federal custody.

Before this policy takes place, Biden has already cut arrests and deportations of illegal immigrants with his “sanctuary country” orders that ban ICE from arresting and deporting most of the nation’s 11 to 22 million illegal immigrants.

Within the first eight months of his presidency, Biden’s DHS deported just 27,000 illegal immigrants from the United States. That is a 90 percent reduction in deportations compared to fiscal year 2019 when more than 250,000 illegal immigrants were deported.

Biden’s DHS has also issued “protected areas” where illegal immigrants can evade arrest by ICE agents. Those areas include schools, hospitals, churches, protests, rehabilitation facilities, parades, and child playgrounds.

Back in September 2021, rules instituted by Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas state that illegal immigrants who commit crimes are not automatically deported unless they are deemed a “threat to public safety.”

As an example, an illegal immigrant from Mexico was arrested for painting swastikas at Union Station in Washington, D.C. just weeks after being arrested for allegedly vandalizing Capitol Police headquarters.

This same individual has a string of felony convictions on his record and instead of being taken into custody by ICE and being deported, he was released onto the streets.

In January, Mayorkas boasted of having “fundamentally changed” immigration enforcement, adding:

“For the first time ever, our policy explicitly states that a noncitizen’s unlawful presence in the United States will not, by itself, be a basis for the initiation of an enforcement action.”

Immigration is back in the top three most important issues to voters, as COVID-19 takes a back seat to more pressing issues.

Biden is underwater on immigration in every poll. One CNBC poll in December 2021 found 69 percent of respondents disapproved of his handling of the issue and 85 percent rated the “current state of immigration” as “poor/not so good.”

An even earlier Quinnipiac poll found that 67 percent of Americans disapprove of the “situation at the Mexican border.”

Border Patrol Union says they are lucky if they seize 5 percent of fentanyl pills coming across the southern border

February 8th, 2022

The union for the United States Border Patrol is reporting that staffing levels for patrols are so low because they are busy processing illegal aliens into the country that massive amounts of drugs are coming in.

They claim that they are fortunate if they are able to stop five percent of fentanyl pills that are coming in from Mexico.

Brandon Judd, the President of the National Border Patrol Council, reported that there are only roughly four federal agents patrolling an area of roughly 150 miles of the border. The reason is not because of COVID, but rather the agents are inundated with illegal aliens and have to process them into the country. Judd said:

“Now that 150 miles of border normally takes about 75-90 agents-we had four agents out there.”

With the few federal agents patrolling the border, Judd claims that leaves the area ripe for illegal drug smuggling. He said:

“Cartels control the border right now. They dictate to us what our operations are going to be. That should never happen.”

Judd then made the startling claim that 95 percent of the illegal drugs, specifically fentanyl, that the cartels are bringing into the country across the southern border are making it into the United States undetected.

This is somewhat backed up by the number of drug seizures that have been reported by United States Customs and Border Protection. Judd said:

“If we seize even 5 percent of [of fentanyl pill] what’s coming across the border, we’re lucky. And if there’s nobody there to detect you and apprehend you, the cartels are going to push it through between the ports of entry when they know that there is absolutely no chance that we’re going to apprehend that narcotic.”

According to Customs and Border Protection, the agency has seized roughly 316 pounds of fentanyl that were smuggled across the border in between different ports of entry.

So far, that is triple the amount of the narcotic that was seized during the same time frame last year.

At the ports of entry, Customs and Border Protection have been able to seize a total of 2,390 pounds of fentanyl during the first few months of the fiscal year 2022.

That is compared to a whopping 10,183 pounds during the same timeframe last year.

Fentanyl is seemingly manufactured in Mexico by using chemicals shipped to them from China.

Once the deadly drug is made, drug cartels ship it over the border to be sold into the United States. Judd alleges that little has been done since Democratic President Joe Biden took office to lessen the flow of drugs into the county. He said:

“There have been no new operations, policies, or programs put in place since this administration has taken office to help the Border Patrol go after criminal cartels and the profits that they are generating.”

Those profits that Judd alleges the cartels are raking in are shocking. He said:

“We have allowed the criminal cartels to create billions of dollars in revenue at the expense of U.S. citizens who are dying at a record rate in 2021.”

Judd said that the federal agents he represents are exhausted and feel “defeated.” He noted that morale for the federal agents is low and that more agents have left than they have been able to hire over the last year. He said:

“We go home every single day defeated. We feel like our time is wasted. Our only goal is to protect the citizens of this great nation – we are not allowed to do that at this time.”

Gooden: GOP will investigate illegal immigrant smuggling networks "funded by Biden administration"

Biden’s DHS Secretary slips up and admits the border is worse now than it has been in 20 years

WASHINGTON, DC – The DHS Secretary admits that the border crisis is worse now than it has been in 20 years according to audio leaked that was obtained by Townhall.

Current Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas met with several members of the Border Patrol on January 26th to discuss several issues.

During the meeting, Mayorkas admitted that the increasing number of illegal border crossings has made the job worse for those in charge of securing our border.

During a recording of the meeting, obtained by Townhall, Mayorkas said:

“The job has not gotten easier over the last few months, and it was very, very difficult throughout 2021. I know apprehending families and kids is not what you signed up to do.

And now we got a composition that is changing even more with Cubans, Venezuelans, Nicaraguans, and the like, it just gets more difficult…

“I know the policies of this administration are not particularly popular with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, but that’s the reality and let’s see what we can do within that framework.”

During the meeting, an unidentified federal agent stood up and asked the question that probably a lot of others in attendance were thinking…how border security is the main mission for the agency and yet they are allegedly not allowed to patrol the border.

The agent alleged that Border Patrol was being used to process thousands of illegal aliens into the country as opposed to securing the border.

After the agent asked the question, he allegedly turned his back on the secretary who responded:

“Let me just say, you can turn your back on me, but I’ll never turn my back on you.”

Another agent took the opportunity to point out the overcrowding that has been reported at different processing sites, including in the Yuma Sector where the meeting was occurring.

The agent told Mayorkas that it is not their job or responsibility to be processing illegal aliens and taking care of the family units.

Another asked Mayorkas why the number of illegal aliens was low in the Migrant Protection Protocols (Remain in Mexico) after the Biden Administration was ordered by a judge to reinstitute the practice.

Mayorkas conceded that the number of illegal aliens in the program were not sufficient:

“The numbers are not where they need to be. I agree with that.”

The policy was enacted under Republican President Donald Trump which forced those seeking asylum at the U.S.-Mexico border to remain in Mexico while their asylum cases played out. This was one of the first policies that President Biden suspended when he took office in January of 2021.

The administration was forced to reinstate the policy by U.S. District Judge Matthew J. Kacsmaryk of the Northern District of Texas.

Later in the meeting when Mayorkas and the agents were specifically speaking about the overall conditions at the southern border, Mayorkas slipped:

“Look, it’s worse now than it, frankly, has been in at least 20 years, if not ever.”

One person who agrees with Mayorkas on this point is Steven Kopits who is with the Princeton Policy Advisors. Kopits analyzed the number of illegal aliens that will come into the country this year will outpace last years. He said:

“Given the comparatively steady pace of apprehensions, we might expect recent experience under the Biden administration to continue.

Under such circumstances, we forecast 2.1 million apprehensions for both calendar year and fiscal year 2022, both records besting not only all other administrations but even the Biden administration’s disastrous first year.”

While the reported numbers of illegal alien apprehensions are alarming, at least to some, another number is not addressed. That would be the number of illegal aliens that have come into the country undetected.

It would be easy to assume that those numbers, like the apprehensions, have also increased since President Biden has taken office. However, unlike the number of apprehensions made, there is no possibility of accurately estimating that number.
