Remember that document called the Constitution? Biden finally recognizing it prevents his little old mask mandate

The following editorial is written by a retired Chief of Police and current staff writer for Law Enforcement Today

PHOENIX, AZ- Maybe hidin’ Biden should check his own rhetoric before spouting off at the mouth. Of course, unless he’s actually reading a script, he usually pretty much sticks his foot in his mouth anyway. Biden’s latest walk back came after he finally realized that a nationwide mask mandate would likely be unconstitutional.

According to the New York Post, Biden changed his mind when questioned by AZFamily’s “Politics Unplugged” on Sunday, September 6th, about his repeated ramblings about forcing Americans to wear masks. As Biden did when he finally started addressing violent riots after four months of silence, he probably looked at polling which likely showed Americans are not exactly down with a national forced mask mandate 24/7.

Biden was asked to respond to the fact that some of the country’s governors had been appreciative of President Trump’s more targeted, less overreaching approach to wearing of masks, to which Biden responded, “Well, I hope you could trust the governors.”

In an interview Sunday, Biden admitted that his national mask mandate is likely unconstitutional, and that he would “plead” with people to wear a mask appealing to their “patriotism.”

He said:

“But here’s the deal, the federal government—there’s a constitutional issue whether federal government could issue such a mandate. I don’t think constitutionally they could, so I wouldn’t issue a mandate.”

Welcome to Constitution 101, Biden.

Biden said that in consideration of legal challenges, Biden would instead “plead with” people to wear a mask, while adding that he would “set an example,” a not-so-veiled shot at President Trump, who rarely wears a mask in public.

Biden then claimed that case rates were dropping where local officials had mandated the wearing of masks, saying:

It’s about making sure the public is safe and secure, and that is a local decision, but there should be national standards laid out as to how it should be gone about. You can’t mandate that,” he continued.

I mean, c’mon man!

Last month, Biden said that there should be an immediate, three-month long nationwide mask mandate, while arguing without facts, data, or science that it would save about 40,000 lives.

He said:

“I hope we learned a lesson. Hope the president has learned the lesson. But again, this is not about Democrat, Republican or Independent. This is about saving Americans’ lives,” Biden said at the time.

“So let’s issue a mass mandate nationwide starting immediately. And we will save—the estimates are that we will save 40,000 lives in the next three months once that is done.”

Not only did Biden make that suggestion, but he actually said that he would use his federal power in order to force Americans to wear masks if he were elected in November.

At the time, Biden told Pittsburgh CBS affiliate KDKA, that he would sign an executive order which would mandate Americans to wear face coverings, saying:

“The one thing we do know, these masks make a gigantic difference. I would insist that everybody in public be wearing that mask. [For] anyone to reopen, it would have to make sure that they walked into a business that had masks,” he said.

Once again Biden was asked if he would use federal power to require mask wearing, to which he replied:

“Yes, I would from an executive standpoint, yes I would.”

Not only has Biden threatened a nationwide mask mandate, but his running mate, Kamala Harris doubled down on it, saying late last month that one of the administration’s first orders of business if elected would be to implement a nationwide mask requirement.

Asked how such a mandate would be enforced, Harris admitted that, “It’s a standard. I mean nobody’s going to be punished,” she said on the “Today” show on NBC.

Harris said:

“Nobody likes to wear a mask, this is a universal feeling, right? So that’s not the point,” she continued.

“The point is this is what we as responsible people who love our neighbor, we have to just do that right now. God willing, it won’t be forever.”

Guess Harris means “love our neighbor” so long as that neighbor isn’t a baby at 8-9 months gestation, whom she favors aborting.

Meanwhile, a former White House stenographer told the Washington Free Beacon that Biden has “lost a step” from 2017, noting that he wasn’t as mentally aware as he was four years ago.

Mike McCormick, who worked with Biden from 2011 to 2017, told the outlet in an interview published on Tuesday, September 8th, that:

“It is a complete difference from what he was in 2017,

“He’s lost a step and he doesn’t seem to have the same mental acuity as he did four years ago.

“He doesn’t have the energy; he doesn’t have the pace of his speaking. He’s a different guy,”

Biden, McCormick said had historically been tuned in to his audiences, and would often go off script, which he no longer does. He rarely strays far from a teleprompter. McCormick noted that Biden often looks “lost” during interviews.

The Beacon noted that Biden has recently taken to reading directly from a teleprompter when answering questions, which includes directly reading instructions from his staff, including recently when he said, “END QUOTE” and “TOPLINE MESSAGE.”

Biden’s shortcomings have not gone unnoticed by President Trump or the Trump campaign, with Trump saying in a tweet on Tuesday:

“Great! Biden is finally being forced out of his basement. Now you’ll be able to see what is going on ‘up there.’ He may do some ‘limited’ campaigning. Basement Biden is no longer playing well in the Polls!,”

McCormick also noted that Putin had basically eaten Biden’s lunch during a joint press conference, when Biden’s microphone was suddenly shut off.

McCormick wrote:

“[Putin’s] message was unmistakable: I’m in charge of the room, I’m in charge of my country, and I’m in charge of the reset,

“As you might imagine, the vice president’s staffers were furious with the Russians I was instructed to have the transcript reflect how the vice president had been cut off in mid-sentence.

McCormick told the Free Beacon:

“He basically got body slammed by Putin, really. I mean, I don’t know how else to describe it,

“To me it was like, here’s our great foreign policy expert and he just got punk’d. And Vladimir Putin just had no fear or respect for him.”

And Democrats think Putin is trying to get Trump elected? He would walk all over Biden.
