St. Louis Park Police Department
Police Officer Michael J. “Mike” Pollitz
End Of Watch: 11-30-11 (delayed per agency request)
Officer Mike Pollitz, 37, suffered a fatal heart attack while on duty. At 1419, Ofc. Mike Pollitz was found to be in distress with an “acute medical emergency”. St. Louis Park Officers and Firefighters tried desperately to assist their Brother but his condition worsened quickly. While at emergency, he suffered a heart attack. The hospital staff tried very hard to save his life but despite their efforts for nearly two hours, Officer Michael J. Pollitz succumbed to heart failure.
Born with a soul that has courage to wear the badge, Ofc. Pollitz had been Saving, Serving and Protecting the People of St. Paul Park for 6 years. Dependable and always ready for action, Brother Mike was well-liked by his peers. “Officer Mike” was also a favorite with the young. Our Brother would often speak at schools talking to the children and showing them what it means to Live As Only A Hero Could. His courage and his compassion were the foundation of what made up this Warrior who simply loved being a Police Officer second only to spending quality time with his young family. A Hero who will be missed by so very many … forgotten by so few.
Mike leaves behind his beloved bride Ilana and two young children Jake and Morgan, mom Barb and 5 siblings. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Pollitz family, the Men and Women of the St. Louis Park PD and all surrounding agencies whom have had the privilege and the pleasure of working along side this Hero.
Our Brother, as you now look down from the Heavens above, may you continue your vigilant watch over us all as we carry on in the battles to come … In Our Brother’s Honor. We thank you for your service and for your sacrifice. We thank you for your life. Job well done, Sir.
Rest In Peace Police Officer Michael J. “Mike” Pollitz … We have the watch from here. SALUTE!
