TULSA, Okla. – A wanted suspect trying to evade police during a vehicle pursuit ended when he lost control and rolled his vehicle.
Tulsa police said Jose Gomez Jr., 36, was booked for eluding police, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, resisting arrest, and interfering with a police officer, among other charges.
The incident began around 10:30 p.m. Friday, when police tried to make a traffic stop on Gomez, reported KJRH. Authorities said he had several outstanding warrants, and was wanted in multiple counties and states.
As Gomez fled from pursuing officers, he crashed into another vehicle in northeast Tulsa. The vehicle then rolled on its side into the Payless Shoe parking lot in the area. Officers said Gomez tried to crawl out of the back of the vehicle and escape on foot. Officers successfully deployed the Taser and were able to take Gomez into custody.
