Amy and her husband Mark, founded The Unbridled Heroes Project based on their needs as a result of their military service and the after effects of a horrific
crime. They took their experience as veterans, they found and developed a unique way, to help veterans and first responders by using rescued wild horses. The Unbridled Heroes Project has a unique way to help first responders and veterans heal from the traumas that they faced during their service.

Amy, USMC veteran and her husband Mark, US Army veteran both struggled in their marriage after their military service was over. When Mark returned from the war, his mind filled with horror that will remain with him. And he suffered from very painful and debilitating service related physical conditions. His Unit lost eighteen men in one year. The war had come home with him. They also endured a very tragic crime, that they still can’t talk about.

They were introduced to a wild and abused horse rescue and found the start of healing for them and the horses. From their the Unbridled Heroes Project began.

Their mission is to help our veterans and first responders by rescuing and reviving their spirit by matching them up with our rescued mustangs. It is in this way that we can help them reconnect with themselves.
