Police: Anti-Drug, Anti-Violence Network employee involved in a bar shooting – left in van owned by network

PHILADELPHIA, PA – 51-year-old Antonio Jardine, an employee of the Philadelphia Anti-Drug Anti-Violence Network, was allegedly involved in a shooting at a bar.

Two people were injured in the shooting. Jardine allegedly left the scene of the incident in a van owned by the network.

According to police, Jardine was allegedly working in Philadelphia to combat the gun violence surge when he began firing his weapon inside the bar.

Philadelphia Police Captain John Walker commented,

“We believe, again, this is a domestic argument between two individuals and the person he’s arguing with pulls out a gun.

He then pulls out his gun and the two shoot it out and obviously, Mr. Jardine flees the scene, he’s currently a fugitive.”

The executive director of the anti-violence agency, George Mosee expressed his anger and said,

“I was informed that an employee of the Philadelphia Anti-Drug Anti-Violence Network was involved in a shooting that resulted in three people being wounded.

It’s completely repugnant to everything that we stand for.

We are imploring this former employee to turn himself in.

We want to make sure that he does things from this point forward the right way.”

The police said that Jardine has a lengthy criminal background and currently has a warrant out for his arrest on a charge of aggravated assault.

Jardine worked as a community crisis intervention program advocate.

Philadelphia man shoots armed intruder who was impersonating a police officer and tried to tie him up

PHILADELPHIA, PA – It was just after 10 pm on Easter Sunday.

As a 25-year-old man was entering his apartment, two men identifying themselves as police forced him back into his home. They threatened to kill him if he made any sudden movements. They then attempted to zip tie his hands behind his back.

He had just parked his Dodge Hellcat in the driveway and was headed inside when the altercation began.

Realizing that these individuals were not actual law enforcement, he had to act quick.

The Gateway Pundit reported that the resident was licensed to carry a concealed weapon.

He was able to free his hands and draw his own firearm, shooting at the intruder closest to him. He fired multiple shots, striking the fake cop.

His accomplice bolted from the scene and Philadelphia police are still searching for him. They have been able to access surveillance footage from the neighborhood and are reviewing footage in hopes of tracking him down.

The intruder that was shot was found by responding officer just outside the apartment door, with gunshot wounds to his head, chest and arm, and a fake badge around his neck. He was taken to a local hospital and was pronounced dead on arrival.

Investigators found a total of six shell casings in the apartment. It appears that the resident fired all six shots.

Authorities briefly detained the 25-year-old and his girlfriend, who was upstairs during the break-in.

Fox 29 spoke with the victim, who said that this will soon be his former apartment. After this incident he is moving.

“I pulled out and shot right at him and that’s it,” he said.

Fox 29 reporter Steve Keeley said that the man also stated that every law abiding citizen who can legally buy a gun should do so in an effort to protect themselves from the rising crime in the city.

Kelley said:

“This guy reaches in his pocket, pulls out his legal gun, and blows away the guy with the badge and the gun. Shoots him six times in the head and the chest.

They got the bad guy’s gun, which was left on the stairwell along with 6 bullets from the good guy’s gun. Police have that gun as well, just for evidence.

As bad as the mayor might think it is that these people are getting guns to arm themselves and fight back, here is a case where the good guy is alive, and the bad guy…is dead.”

Thanks to far-left DA and defunded police, Philadelphia ends 2021 with the most murders in city’s history

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The City of Brotherly Love has broken a record from 1990 and it is not a good one. The grisly new record marks the most murders the city has seen in recorded history.

Philadelphia, as of December 31st, had reached 562 reported homicides for 2021, and there were still a few hours until the year ended.

The number of homicides that the city has seen has left many to no longer feel safe to live there or visit.

Fear is especially high in Germantown, where the residents talk about the sound of gunshots being so normal there, they teach their children and grandchildren to duck when the sounds are heard.

Helama Cannon spoke to 10 Philadelphia about her concerns and said:

“In our neighborhood when you hear gunshots we know to just roll on the floor and stay down.

I had to teach my grandchildren…when you hear gunshots, roll over and stay down until I tell you it’s ok. It makes you angry. You get fed up.”

City leaders had invested $155 million into different public safety programs, including $16 million that went specifically to neighborhood-based groups to fight violence throughout the city last budget cycle.

While those on the defund the police movement thought this type of approach would somehow lessen the violence, the number of homicides speak a different story, and it seems to be spilling over into the new year.

In the early morning hours of 2022, the city has seen multiple shootings and homicides. One of the shootings, which saw five people shot, two fatally, occurred in the 1600 block of Cecil B Moore Avenue which is near Temple University at a party celebrating the new year.

Philadelphia Police Inspector D. F. Pace noted that the two victims who died were shot multiple times.

The three who have survived were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment in a private vehicle, and they were last listed in stable condition. Pace said:

“What I can tell you is that the group was part of a larger group who were assembled here in this area for New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day festivities when they were shot.”

Sadly, this was not the last reported incident in which someone lost their lives in Philadelphia during the first few hours of the new year.

Pace also reported that there was a 33 year old man who was shot and killed and two 23 year old women who were injured at a different New Year’s Eve party.

According to Pace, the party appeared to be located at an auto parts business on the 100 block of East Luray Street. Pace believes that the shooter fired at least six rounds around 1:30 am.

The man was struck several times in the chest and the women once in the leg. The man died from his wounds and the women were listed in stable condition at Temple University Hospital.

Shooting violence like this has led people like Marla Davis Bellamy of Philadelphia CeaseFire to speak out. She said:

“I am deeply troubled and simply saddened in regard to this milestone we have reached.”

Adam Garber of CeaseFirePA also noted the reaching of the grim milestone as well as the continued violence throughout the new year. He said:

“It means the families that are gonna go without that person that they love, and it means living in a city that no longer feels safe.”

Despite a record number of murders and crimes, Philadelphia’s far-left DA says Philly tourists should “feel safe”

The following contains editorial content which is the opinion of the author.

PHILADELPHIA, PA- Of all the unhinged, far-left district attorneys put in place with the help of George Soros’s deep pockets, perhaps Larry Krasner of Philadelphia is the worst.

As district attorney in a city where they just broke their homicide record with three weeks left in the year, Krasner doesn’t believe there is a problem. Last week, as reported by the Washington Free Beacon, Krasner, who is either a liar or is blind issued the following statement at a press briefing:

“We don’t have a crisis of lawlessness. We don’t have a crisis of crime, we don’t have a crisis of violence,” Krasner said. “It’s important that we don’t let this become mushy and bleed into the notion that there is some kind of big spike in crime.”

For anyone who has been paying even remote attention to what is going on in “The City of Brotherly Love,” you know Krasner is living in fantasy-land. Philadelphia’s homicide number for 2021 is over 500 and rises on a daily basis, that number being the most in 60 years.

Shootings surged last year in the wake of the George Floyd death have continued an upward spike in 2021.

So bad has it become in Philadelphia that even Democrats are joining the chorus of people condemning Krasner, with former mayor Michael Nutter (D) weighing in in an op-ed in which he slammed Krasner, writing, “I’d like to ask Krasner: How many more black and brown people, and others, would have to be gunned down in our streets to meet your definition of a ‘crisis’?”

Krasner is of course not the only Democrat who has downplayed the crime wave exploding across the U.S.

For example, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has likewise tried to downplay the explosion of violent crime in her city, claiming crime is “down in most categories,” Breitbart reported.

Lightfoot of course is cherry-picking statistics. While some crimes are down, murder, sexual assault and theft have increased.

Last week, Lightfoot said during a Monday press conference that other than murder, Chicago’s crime rates are mostly trending down. However statistics available from the Chicago Police Department dispute that, showing crime is rising in a number of categories.

Lightfoot was questioned about Chicago’s surge toward 800 murders this year, the first time that number has been reached in decades. It was in response to that question that Lightfoot lied, claiming that only murder is up while other crime is down.

In fact, Lightfoot used the rise in crime in other cities such as New York, St. Louis, and Austin are also experiencing high crime, claiming that Chicago is “focused on gangs, we’re focused on guns,” then telling the whopper that “every other crime category is at 25-year lows.”

Chicago PD’s numbers however tell a different story. Sexual assault is up 27%, theft is up 19% and car theft is up 6%. Non-fatal shootings are also up 8.2% this year over last. In addition, carjackings, tracked separately by the Chicago PD are up by about one-third, with 1,250 carjackings reported thus far in 2021 with three weeks to go.

Lightfoot made her comments after another deadly weekend in the Windy City, with Chicago recording 36 city residents shot with six killed.

The seeming disconnect by Krasner and Lightfoot has been mirrored by other Democratic politicians and liberal media, with many downplaying the increase in crime and attributing it to being cyclical and, like Lightfoot claiming that “most” crime is down.

For example, the Guardian looked at the “’crime wave’ narrative police are pushing,” and published a “fact check” that only murders saw an increase and claim that “Americans overall are much less likely to be killed today than they were in the 1990s and the homicide rate across big cities is still close to half what it was a quarter century ago.”

A separate report published by the Democratic think tank Third Way claimed that “contrary to the media narrative, overall crime decreased in 2020 compared to 2019,” only including as an afterthought the fact that homicides and gun violence has increased.

FBI data proves that homicides exploded last year, by about 30 percent, which represents the highest one-year percentage increase in American history since such records were being kept.

In addition, aggravated assaults—sometimes used as replacement language for shootings—also increased, along with carjackings. Things appear to be much worse so far in 2021 according to preliminary statistics.

For example, AH Datalytics tracked data among 90 cities for this year and the results show a staggering two-thirds have seen homicides continue their upward trend in 2021. Twelve major cities have either tied or surpassed all-time records, with five of those surpassing records set only last year.

Not to be outdone, Manhattan Institute senior fellow Rafael Mangual documented dozens of smaller US cities that have likewise seen a significant surge in homicides. The Free Beacon notes that in a number of jurisdictions, things are bad or worse than they were in the 1990s, which if these trends continue AH Datalytics data indicates “2021 will see the most big-city murders since 1995.”

There are a number of factors believed to be behind the spike in crime, with the “defund the police” mantra, reductions in manpower due to early retirements or outright resignations of police officers, and a decrease in morale caused by political rhetoric following Floyd’s death last year all being blamed.

In big cities where homicide is skyrocketing, a significant drop in police staffing is believed to be the culprit, with many city police officers fleeing urban departments for less hostile areas in the suburbs.

As with Krasner and Lightfoot, media malfeasance has also come into play, with “news” outlets from the New York Times to the Washington Post all downplaying the rise in crime, or the true root causes, instead opting for the convenient excuse of the coronavirus pandemic.

Likewise, Axios Chicago has attempted to link the crime surge in Chicago to illegal guns bought out of state, which is a talking point used by Lightfoot and past mayors of the city, ignoring their own responsibility or light-on-crime DAs such as Kim Foxx’s culpability.

In the case of Krasner, his denial of responsibility for the carnage taking place in Philadelphia through his policy of refusing to prosecute a majority of crimes, including serious ones amounts to prosecutorial malpractice. Krasner taking the position that there is “nothing to see here” reminds one of the old Police Squad movie, with lead Leslie Nielsen yelling “nothing to see here” as carnage takes place behind him.

Krasner’s comments are not likely to play well with the electorate, where in excess of 75% of voters believe that violent crime is a “major problem.” Recently, we saw Republican Glenn Youngkin use Virginia’s exploding crime rate against his Democratic opponent Terry McAuliffe in the governor’s race in that state to propel him to the governor’s office.

Clearly, Democrats across the country need to abandon the rhetoric being spouted by Krasner, Lightfoot, and others, along with the mainstream media.

If serious crime rates continue to escalate, it is a winning message for Republicans in the 2022 midterms by promising to do something about it. The greatest responsibility of government is to protect its citizens, and in that endeavor, Democrats such as Krasner are failing miserably.
