Police shred PA Democrat governor after he repeats myth of systemic racism by cops in Juneteenth proclamation

The following article contains editorial content written by a retired Chief of Police and current staff writer for Law Enforcement Today.

HARRISBURG, PA- In yet another slam on police by a Democrat politician, the latest insult comes to us from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, where Gov. Tom Wolf just slapped police in his state squarely across the face in a letter to state employees regarding the newest excuse for municipal employees to get a day off, the so-called “Juneteenth holiday,” ABC-27 News reported.

Wolf wrote to employees designating Friday, June 18 as a special holiday for state employees. This was done of course because the actual date of “Juneteenth” is the 19th of June, which falls on a Saturday this year. Since state employees must get a day off to “celebrate,” Wolf moved the “official” date back to the 18th.

Within his letter, he called attention to the day, touting the “progress” the country has made as a nation toward equality and justice for all citizens.

Then, he went straight off the rails, speaking to “the continued death of African Americans at the hands of police,” and then transitioned to attacks against Asian Americans, which he conveniently failed to note occur mostly at the hands of the aforementioned African Americans.

Juneteenth is a celebration of the progress we have made as a nation towards equality and justice for all. Sadly, the continued death of African Americans at the hands of police and rise in violent attacks against Asian Americans are painful reminders that racism and intolerance are still with us today. This Juneteenth we have an opportunity to unite against injustice and create lasting change that will make Pennsylvania and our nation a better place for everyone.”

Where to start? How about Philadelphia? According to Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw, 103 people have been murdered so far in the “City of Brotherly Love” thus far in 2021, an increase of more than 30 percent over last year, same time period.

“Only” 412 people have been shot citywide this year, according to the New York Post.

Out of those 103 homicide victims, 13 were children, 12 fatally shot. But hey, Philadelphia isn’t the biggest craphole in the country. That honor still belongs to Chicago. A majority of those killed have been blacks killed by other blacks.

Not one unarmed black man has been killed by a Philadelphia police officer so far in 2021.

But that’s ok. District Attorney Larry Krasner is up for re-election this week. His claim to fame? Pretty much releasing everyone who’s arrested in the city, including those charged with gun crimes. It’s pretty easy to figure out why crime is out of control in Philadelphia.

It’s easy for Wolf to blame police for the ills of the black community. That’s become something of a sport among Democrats, with Joe Biden taking the occasion last week of National Police Week and Law Officer’s Memorial Day to slam police officers as being racist mercenaries intent on destroying the black race. Not in so many words, of course but the point was made…and taken by police officers across the country.

In response to Wolf’s brain-dead comment on Monday, David Kennedy, President of the Pennsylvania State Troopers Association blasted Wolf in a statement, saying Wolf had insulted his officers in the missive he wrote.

Kennedy noted that Wolf had cherry-picked a few examples of so-called police brutality to insult all police officers across the Keystone State.

“Let me be clear: Pennsylvania state troopers support the Juneteenth holiday. But for Gov. Wolf to use his platform to further push a false narrative that police are racist murderers is nothing less than the worst kind of political pandering. It only serves to further divide our nation at the expense of officers who already work incredibly dangerous jobs,” Kennedy wrote in his response.

“And to do it during National Police Week is nothing less than symbolically spitting in the faces of all police officer and troopers who have given everything. And for the families, this insult rips open a fresh wound.”

Kennedy also slammed Wolf for failing to provide troopers with PPE during the pandemic, being told they weren’t available even while there was a growing stockpile of masks at the Farm Show Complex.

Kennedy also slammed Wolf in March, calling on the feckless governor to prioritize state troopers and other first responders for coronavirus vaccinations, Fox News reported.

“Gov. Wolf, you owe all law enforcement officers, troopers and their loved ones an apology. A real apology,” Kennedy said.

Kennedy also took aim at the explosion of violent crime in Philadelphia, noting the above statistics.

He also noted that it is projected police will probably make 3,000 arrests for illegal guns, however people are not likely to be convicted. He said Philadelphia police refer to it as a “revolving door” for repeat gun offenders.

When speaking of unnecessary deaths, especially caused by incompetence, Wolf should look in the mirror. According to CBS Philly, nursing home deaths from COVID-19 in Pennsylvania accounted for over 65% of the total deaths. Just as New York did, Pennsylvania put COVID-positive patients into nursing homes and long-term care facilities.

Former Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Health Rachel Levine, who used to be a guy famously removed her/his mother from a nursing home and into a private facility just prior to COVID-positive patients being placed in nursing homes. Levine was rewarded for that by receiving an appointment in the Biden administration. Guess crime pays.

Wolf’s statement is just another in a long line of pandering Democrats throwing police under the bus to perpetuate the false narrative of police shooting unarmed black men indiscriminately, despite clear and overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

WASHINGTON, DC- According to studies, 45% of all COVID-19 deaths occurred in nursing homes, amounting to around 75,000 deaths in such facilities across the U.S, according to The Gateway Pundit.

Now, the U.S. Department of Justice has asked for data from four states hit hard by nursing home deaths, all run by Democrat governors.

Citing an article from The Hill, Eric Drieband, Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Division said, “Protecting the rights of some of society’s most vulnerable members, including elderly nursing home residents, is one of our country’s most important obligations.”

“We must ensure they are adequately cared for with dignity and respect and not unnecessarily put at risk.”

The news release issued by the DOJ said that the requests were being sent to states “that issued orders which may have resulted in the deaths of thousands of elderly nursing home residents.”

The four states subject to the information request were New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Michigan.

In the case of Michigan, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer said she would provide the data, however claimed that it was politically motivated, and called it a “partisan stump” intended to help President Trump’s reelection bid, the Detroit Free Press reported.

Whitmer alleged the letter relied on politics more than health policy, although a number of her executive orders had little to do with science and were more about control.

“The fact that this letter was sent during the middle of the Republican National Convention week to four Democratic governors should make it crystal clear that this is nothing more than election year politics by an administration that is more concerned with the president’s re-election campaign than protecting Michigan seniors,” Whitmer said in a statement Wednesday.

“We will review this letter and respond as appropriate. However, Americans would all be better served if the Trump administration stopped the partisan games and focused on delivering a real plan to defeat COVID-19.”

Whitmer also issued a joint statement with New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, in which they said:

“This is noting more than a transparent politicization of the Department of Justice in the middle of the Republican National Convention.

It’s no coincidence the moment the trump administration is caught weakening the CDC’s COVID-19 testing guidelines to artificially lower the number of positive cases, they launched this nakedly partisan deflection,” they wrote.

Michigan, one of the harder hit states in nursing homes reported that 8,146 nursing home residents had been infected with COVID, with 2,083 deaths, meaning 25% of nursing home patients who contracted COVID died.

Likewise, there have been 4,301 confirmed cases among nursing home staff, with 21 of those having died due to COVID-19.

On May 20, Whitmer had issued an executive order which mandated nursing homes take “all reasonable efforts” to create separate units for residents who had COVID-19, while also requiring nursing homes to provide PPE to staff. They were also directed to not accept such patients unless they had dedicated isolation units.

Whitmer was subject to a congressional hearing in June, where members asked her why she had waited until May 20 to issue the additional directives on nursing homes.

She said that looking back, there were “probably a number of decisions we would have made some adjustment on.”

Fox News reported that according to the CDC, New York had the highest number of COVID-19 deaths in the country, at 32,592, a majority of whom were elderly; that translated to the second-highest death rate by population, 1,680 deaths per million people, according to the DOJ. New Jersey had the highest death rate with 1,733 deaths per million

Just ten days before Whitmer reversed her policy, Cuomo did likewise on May 10. He has downplayed the need for an independent investigation, calling such calls “political.”

“I wouldn’t do an investigation whether or not it’s political, everybody can make that decision for themselves,” Cuomo said. “I think you’d have to be blind to realize it’s not political.”

Last week, an Associated Press report found the New York nursing home death count to be more than 6,620 people, noting that not only was that believed to be an undercount but an undercount by thousands of deaths.

Last week at the Democratic National Convention, Cuomo took a victory lap of sorts, calling his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic “beautiful” while claiming that the Trump administration had been “incompetent” in handling the crisis, KSEV 700 reported.

Further, Cuomo referred to the virus as the “European virus,” completely ignoring COVID’s origins in Wuhan, China. He accepts zero responsibility for his apparent failures in New York.

During testimony in front of New York lawmakers last week, Fox News meteorologist Janice Dean, who lost both of her husband’s parents in a nursing home to COVID, Dean said that her in-laws’ health had been declining prior to being put into elder care facilities.

She said at one point she was notified that her father-in-law had been moved to a different floor in order to make room for new patients. Dean said she believed that some of those new patients were recovering from COVID.

She said days later staff had called her husband to tell him that his father was sick and had a fever. Three hours later, she said he was dead.

Days later, her mother-in-law died, also of COVID. She related how her husband had recalled that in his mother’s facility, staff were getting coffee without masks and residents were allowed to roam freely.

“Elder care homes were turned into death traps.”

Dean noted that her death was not included as a nursing home death because she died in the hospital, with Dean complaining that New York was the only state that didn’t document deaths properly.

Dean is asking for a complete outside investigation into the nursing home deaths, with full subpoena powers.

Tell that to Cuomo. He apparently thinks he did a stellar job.
