Nancy Pelosi was hoping she and the House would get to pick the President – but she should have done her homework.

WASHINGTON, DC – Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has declared that if there is dispute and controversy over the Presidential election, the House is prepared to make that decision.

The Constitution provides a roadmap for that to be done. But it stands to reason that Pelosi’s excitement means that she doesn’t understand how it actually works.

It is also important to point out that the process that she is referring to has actually been put in motion twice before, in 1801 and 1825.

Ironically, the House has no obligation to pay attention to the popular vote. This happened in 1824 when Andrew Jackson won the popular vote and had the most votes in the electoral college. However, he didn’t reach 270 or have a majority of the electoral votes and the House chose John Quincy Adams instead.

Apparently, Pelosi believes that she can bang her gavel and declare a winner, but here is how it works.

According to the Dan Bongino Show

“In this case, the Democrats have a 232 to 197 lead in the House and aren’t projected to lose it. However, there is a twist. The new President would not be decided by a vote of the entire House, but by a vote of the House delegation from each state. In other words, California gets the same number of votes as South Dakota in this situation.

Currently, Republicans hold a small lead in control of state delegations and are projected to maintain it after the election. In other words, the Democrat-controlled House, run by Nancy Pelosi, would probably end up electing Donald Trump if they had to decide the election.

Can you imagine the wailing the gnashing of teeth after that outcome? In any case, since this hasn’t happened in 195 years, it probably won’t happen this time either. Of course, in the extremely unlikely event that it does, let’s hope Republican delegations hold a majority of the states.”

It appears that Pelosi doesn’t grasp that. She seems to beleive that either the people will elect Joe Biden, or she will.

“But let’s not worry about that right now. We’re ready. We’re prepared. We’ve been ready for a while because we see this irresponsibility of the president, his disrespect for the Constitution, for our democracy and for the integrity of our elections.

So we’re ready for him,” she told NPR’s All Things Considered

“The speaker of the House is ready for that prominent role, but let’s not worry about that right now. What we want to be ready for is a big vote tomorrow to dispel any thought other than that, on January 20, Joe Biden will be inaugurated president of the United States, that we will have a Democratic House and a Democratic Senate.

Our country is a great country. We’re even great enough to survive one term of Donald Trump. Two terms would be such a serious setback that I worry for our country.” the California Democrat remarked on her personal feelings about a second Trump term.

As we await the returns, it appears that the Democrats will maintain control of the House of Representatives, so it would make sense that Pelosi will continue in her role as Speaker of the House.

And this is a woman who has been hellbent on overturning the will of the people who voted to elect Donald Trump in 2016, leading the charge in the impeachment process of the President.

In essence, she has declared that it doesn’t matter what the American people want, she wants to see him out of office, regardless of what it takes to achieve that outcome.

Even if it means she find a way to name herself the President pending a massive court battle outcome.

Law Enforcement Today’s own Pat Droney highlighted her argument in a recent editorial.

WASHINGTON, DC- What is scarier than a witch on Halloween? Nancy Pelosi in the White House. Could it actually happen? God, we hope not. Yet it is a possibility. How?

Well, Pelosi herself has raised the possibility, if neither President Trump or Joe Biden gets enough electoral votes on November 3 in order to declare victory.

Earlier this month, Pelosi raised the issue, telling reporters that she was getting ready for the House to play a potential role in deciding the winner, the Washington Examiner reported.

The Constitution provides a framework in the event no candidate receives the requisite 270 electoral votes in order to be declared the winner of the presidential contest.

Pelosi claims that if a clear winner is not determined, “then it goes into another range where the speaker becomes the [president]. It’s complicated after that,” she said.

Having the House play a role in the outcome of the presidential election is something which hasn’t happened in 150 years.

So, how would it work? Under the Constitution, each House state delegation casts a vote for the president. While Democrats currently enjoy the majority in the House, that is not how it works. Each state casts one vote based on the party of the delegation which holds a majority of the House seats in that state.

In other words, a state like Connecticut, where all five congressional seats are Democrats would cast one vote for Biden. A state such as Florida, which has more Republican congressmen than Democrats would cast one vote for President Trump. This is one reason why Pelosi has suddenly placed such a focus on congressional seats.

If Democrats are able to flip just a few state House delegations to Democrat, they would have the majority of state delegations and Biden would ostensibly be elected president. The Senate would decide the vice-president, and as currently comprised, Vice President Pence would retain his office.

So, how does a potential Pelosi presidency (shudder the thought) occur? In the event the state delegations are evenly split, with Republicans and Democrats holding 25 state delegations each, Pelosi would become acting president, under the auspices of the 1947 Presidential Succession Act.

Short of that, Pelosi has been trying to have the Democrat party focus on two states—Alaska and Montana, which currently have Republican majorities. Some states, such as Pennsylvania, have split delegations. Pennsylvania is currently split 9-9, so if the Democrats were to flip one of those seats November 3, it would give Democrats that additional vote.

Under the Constitution, it requires that Congress certify the election on Jan. 6, 2021, which is after a new Congress is seated. If Democrats maintain control of the House, Pelosi would [likely] still be the Speaker.

For some liberals, the idea of a Pelosi presidency, even if only temporary is a fantasy come true. In the case of liberal loudmouth Joy Behar of The View, the possibility put her in fantasy land.

During an interview earlier this month on the gabfest, Behar said she was “dreaming of the day when we say ‘President Nancy Pelosi.’” Vomit inducing, we know.

“Nancy, I’m dreaming of the day when we say ‘President Nancy Pelosi,” Behar gushed. “I think that sounds really good.”

Behar is still worried about the Russians though. Behar said that while she was happy about polls showing the president trailing in key states, the is “still worried they could steal this election.”

“I know that the Russians are still involved. Trump’s own Department of Homeland Security just released a report warning that Russia is a key threat to the election. Now we knew this going into 2016 too, and we saw how that turned out.”

Pelosi of course fell for Behar’s hyperbole hook, line, and sinker.

“Well, I’m concerned, but my motto is ‘We don’t agonize, we organize,” Pelosi said. “And I have no doubt that the president, in typical fashion, will lie, cheat, and steal to win this election, so we are prepared for that. I’m sorry I have to say stat…but that is the reality.”

So, buckle up people. The next month or two promises to be crazy…more craziness in a crazy year. And the queen of crazy, Nancy Pelosi, could very well end up running the show. God help us.

Of course, while all this is going on, Nancy Pelosi has been going off the rails. For our recent report on a move by Congressional Republicans to have her removed as Speaker, we invite you to:

WASHINGTON, DC- A new congressional resolution was introduced that highlighted the need for Nancy Pelosi’s resignation.

Rep. Doug Collins and Rep. Andy Biggs introduced the resolution after claiming that the Speaker of the House lacked the “mental fitness” necessary to serve in her role.

Collins spoke to Fox News about the downfall of Pelosi saying:

“Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s unwillingness to abide by the Constitution, combined with her recent actions, call into question her own mental fitness, which is why it’s critical that the House of Representatives demand her removal from the line of succession,”

The line that Collins references is the line of presidential succession.

Pelosi’s role as the Speaker of the House makes her second in line for the presidency should something happen to the president. The speaker follows only the vice president in the line.

Having such an essential role in the government means that the speaker needs to be constantly ready to fill in a void if needed.

Fox News also obtained a draft of the resolution on Monday which outlined that Pelosi “is unable to adequately serve as Speaker of the House of Representatives and should therefore be removed from her position.”

The reasoning behind this claim begins with Pelosi’s attempts at catching President Trump doing something incorrect or illegal. The resolution stated that the speaker:

“has spent the majority of the House of Representative’s time pursuing baseless and fruitless investigations”

The representatives then provides an example of this referencing President Trump’s impeachment in 2019:

“On October 31, 2019, Speaker Nancy Pelosi oversaw the first party-line vote to begin an impeachment inquiry into a president in the history of our country.”

The Georgia and Arizona congressmen mentioned other examples of Pelosi’s clear prejudice toward the president including when the speaker “ripped up the State of the Union speech.”

This example dates back to President Trump’s 2020 State of the Union Address in February. Immediately after the president finished his speech Pelosi tore apart her copy “before the American people.”

The pair also included that, while in office, the speaker has suffered a decline in her mental health:

“Over her tenure of her speakership, Speaker Nancy Pelosi has started to demonstrate a decline in mental fitness, calling into question her ability to adequately serve the House of Representatives and the American people.”

While doing an interview with ABC News Pelosi seemed slightly worse for wear and “appeared confused and exhibited bizarre behavior” according to the congressmen. The representatives that the speaker could be seen “blurting out randomly ‘Good Morning, Sunday morning.'”

The last example given by the congressional members of Pelosi’s ineptitude goes back to September. The Speak of the House scheduled an appointment at a local salon to get her hair done. Pelosi took her mask off during her time at the salon multiple times, violating mask wearing mandates.

The resolution explained that the speaker:

“Visited a shuttered hair salon in San Francisco where she received a blow-out without wearing a mask in violation of San Francisco’s laws concerning the coronavirus;”

Then, rather than taking responsibility for violating the mask wearing mandates, and stay at home orders, the speaker proceeded to “cast blame on the salon’s owner for ‘setting her up.’”

Now, the resolution seems to be garnered a bit of support from other representatives. On Friday afternoon representative Collins tweeted out a thank you to Representatives Jody Hice, Ted Bud, Jeff Duncan, and Paul Gosar for their support on the legislation.

The timing of the resolution is quite comical considering Pelosi has been plotting to use the 25th amendment to oust President Trump from office. Why is Pelosi attempting to remove the president? She claims that he lacks the fitness necessary for his job.

Pelosi suggests potential plot to remove Trump from office before election: ’…talking about the 25th Amendment’

During a recent weekly press briefing, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) hinted at a discussion that would be taking place about the 25th Amendment.

As she fielded questions about negotiations on coronavirus relief funds, Pelosi said to reporters:

“Tomorrow, by the way, tomorrow, come here tomorrow. We’re going to be talking about the 25th Amendment.”

Allegedly, Democrats and the few never-Trump supporters have been talking about using the 25th amendment to remove President Trump from power since the first day he took office back in 2017. The 25th Amendment reads:

Section 1- In case of the removal of the President from office or of his death or resignation, the Vice President shall become President;

Section 2- Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress;

Section 3- Whenever the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that he is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, and until he transmits to them a written declaration to the contrary, such powers and duties shall be discharged. by the Vice President as Acting President and;

Section 4- Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.

When Trump announced that he had tested positive for COVID-19, social media accounts were abuzz with the suggestion of using the 25th Amendment to remove him from officeUSA TODAY justice and legal affairs reporter Kristine Phillips said:

“It’s too soon to talk about the president’s demise, but it’s not too soon to talk about the 25th Amendment. Trump’s symptoms could get worse and could affect his thinking.”

CBS-affiliated WUSA9 tweeted:

“The 25th Amendment helps accommodate for situations when a president gets too sick.”

Author Paul Brandus noted:

“The amendment was last invoked in 2007 when then-President George W. Bush briefly transferred his authority to Vice President Dick Cheney, while Bush underwent on colonoscopy.”

NPR Politics tweeted:

“What happens if the president is incapacitated? The 25th Amendment charts a course.”

Fox News correspondent Geraldo Rivera stated:

“25th Amendment possible. @VP has to be ready to be “acting president” under Sec 3 of the 25th Amendment. The rest of us have to stay calm & carry on.”

Others pointed out that jumping to discussions involving invoking the 25 Amendment under the current circumstances is completely absurd. Political operative Ford O’Connell tweeted:

“The level of nonsense flying around in the media is beyond outrageous. People are talking about the 25th Amendment, the nuclear arsenal and the line of succession and it is not even 3:00 PM ET. Get a grip folks, it’s too much, especially for a Friday.”

In the most extreme scenario being promoted, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is depicted as possibly taking over as president. Though the president has been discharged from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and appears to be recovering rapidly, Pelosi has taken it upon herself to elevate social media chatter to a plan of action.

This is just one of many times Pelosi has tried to either impeach President Trump or take him out office.
