Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Deputy Critically Injures Woman Before Committing Suicide

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. – A Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputy shot a woman before killing himself Thursday morning at Boynton Beach’s Inlet Harbor Club, authorities confirmed.

Boynton Beach Police Department responded to the gated community off Federal Highway north of Gateway Boulevard shortly after 8 a.m.

They found the deputy, who has not been identified, dead and a woman in critical condition. That woman, who also has not been identified, was rushed to Delray Medical Center’s Trauma Center, according to police. At this time they report that she is clinging to life in critical condition, reported the Sun Sentinel.

A police spokeswoman, Stephanie Slater, confirmed the PBSO deputy shot the woman before taking his life, but did not further elaborate. Therefore, motivation for the tragic encounter is simply speculation at this time.

Both parties remain unnamed at the time of this report.
