The New York City Police Department has warned area banks and businesses that the long weekend may inspire burglary gangs, such as the one depicted in Oceans Eleven, to execute sophisticated heists. The department sent a bulletin which warned banks and business organizations about extremely adept groups of criminals which station lookout watches and monitor police frequencies with electronic surveillance. Such criminal crews have been known to use oxy-acetylene cutting torches and construction equipment to access bank vaults and other areas via walls and nroofs over other long, holiday weekends.
