NYC mayor backs “drag queen story hour” for kids – city councilwoman opposes, gets threatened by “leftist hate mob”

NEW YORK – While New York City Mayor Eric Adams voiced support for drag queen story hours, a NYC Councilwoman has been threatened for speaking in opposition.

As we previously reported, New York City has been host to taxpayer-funded drag queen story hours, in which “performers” regale young and impressionable minds with creations such as “The Hips on the Drag Queen Go Swish, Swish, Swish.”

Mayor Adams spoke out in favor of such performances recently on Twitter, declaring that such displays represent “diversity, personal expression, and literacy.”

He wrote:

“Drag storytellers, and the libraries and schools that support them, are advancing a love of diversity, personal expression, and literacy that is core to what our city embraces.”

He continued by advocating for the supposed benefits to children’s emotional intelligence:

“At a time when our LGBTQ+ communities are under increased attack across this country, we must use our education system to educate.

“The goal is not only for our children to be academically smart, but also emotionally intelligent.”

Some respondents to these tweets voiced their concerns over such performances for children.

One wrote:

“When will you be bringing the strippers in?

“Drag Queens are ADULT entertainment. They are grown men who MOCK women in a comedy fashion.

“WTF is wrong with you?”

Another tweeted in response:

“I’m gay and a parent, it’s just not appropriate nor representative of gay people.

“It should NOT be tax funded or in public schools against parents wishes.”

Another suggested an alternative for story hour hosts, saying:

“I guess my question is why not a lonely senior citizen or vet instead?

“A retired vet could even provide security for the schools.”

One prominent person pushing back against drag queen story hours is NYC Council member Vickie Paladino, a Republican who represents District 19 of Northeast Queens.

According to her biography:

“Vickie’s legislative priorities emphasize public safety and support for the NYPD, the preservation of our quality of life, education, support for small business, and holding our government and representatives accountable.”

Paladino was recently quoted by the New York Post in an article on taxpayer-funded drag queen story hours.

She said:

“I am considering pulling funding to any school in my district that is implementing Drag Queen Story Hour.”

Paladino continued:

“We are taking hundreds of thousands of dollars out of the pockets of hardworking New York taxpayers … to fund a program teaching little children about their gender fluidity?

“Not. On. My. Watch.”

On June 13, 2022, Paladino doubled down in her efforts to shield children from “grooming and sexualization,” announcing on Twitter:

“I am quoted in this article, and I will reiterate: Any school in my district participating in ‘drag queen’ degeneracy risks losing their funding.

“Adult drag performers have NO BUSINESS in our schools, and they will not be in my district. Period.”

She continued in followup tweets:

“I have thus far allocated MILLIONS of dollars in funding for district schools for repairs, upgrades, and new programs because I am a major advocate for education.

“This funding will be reconsidered if a school is found to have participated in these activities.

“Progressives may have no problem with child grooming and sexualization, but I do. This will not happen on my watch.

“Kids deserve a quality education free from political manipulation and sexual content. And that’s what the kids in District 19 will get.”

According to the New York Post, New York City’s LGBTQIA+ Caucus has demanded that Paladino be “removed from her committee assignments and formally censured.”

Co-chairs Crystal Hudson and Tiffany Cabán said in a statement:

“The recent comments made by Council Member Vickie Paladino (District 19) are unacceptable from anyone, let alone an elected official.

“They are full of hate, intolerance, and ignorance.

“… we condemn and denounce Council Member Paladino’s bigoted comments and call for her to be removed from her committee assignments and formally censured.”

The pair continued by referring to drag queen story hours as “wholesome,” saying:

“Drag Queen Story Hour NYC is a wonderful, wholesome, and vital program that invites our children to explore who they really are, to see themselves as unique individuals with the right to be whoever they are in the world.”

Hudson and Cabán also claimed that Paladino’s comments could “intensify” the “threat of violence” against the LGBTQIA+ community.

Paladino, for her part, stood strong in the face of pushback, tweeting:

“It’s not ‘hate speech’ to say drag queens don’t belong in schools. I make zero apologies for that.

“Protecting children is my priority. Period. This is what I was elected for.

“And I will continue to be the most transparent, effective council member this district has ever had.”

Unfortunately, it appears that some of that pushback was in the form of violent threats, as Paladino’s office has begun to require protection from those bent on sexualizing young children.

Paladino tweeted on June 16:

“As my progressive council colleagues and their radical allies play victim and pretend that speaking against drag queens in elementary schools put them in ‘danger’, back in the real world my office now requires a police detail due to threats of violence from the leftist hate mob.”

While you’re paying $5 a gallon for gas, New York City is spending over $200k for drag shows at city schools

NEW YORK CITY- Fear not, America. While you’re paying $5 a gallon for gasoline, can’t find baby formula in most states, and are paying $24 for an order of chicken wings, sleep soundly knowing the city of New York feels your pain.

In yet another case of the government apparatus pissing away taxpayer dollars on dumb stuff, such as conducting torturous experiments on poodles, giving smartphones to illegal aliens, abandoning $80 billion in sophisticated military equipment in Afghanistan, and indoctrinating school children to hate America, there is the Big Apple.

According to the New York Post, the city that never sleeps has dropped over $207,000 in taxpayer money funding “Drag Story Hour NYC” since 2018 in a continuing effort to trans the kids. Oh to be sure it wasn’t only New York City taxpayer dollars that fund this garbage, but statewide tax dollars.

For example, last month alone, New York paid the group $46,000 from city contracts for appearances at schools (of course), street festivals and libraries, according to city records.

The group has put on 49 drag programs in 34 public elementary, middle, and high schools, it bragged on its website, with appearances occurring in all five city boroughs.

“I can’t believe this. I am shocked,” said one mother of a public school student, Helen Qui, who is also a state Assembly candidate.

Qui’s 11-year-old son attends a Manhattan middle school.

“I would be furious if he was exposed without my consent. This is not part of the curriculum,” she continued.

According to Louder With Crowder, the funds came from a number of taxpayer-funded entities, including New York’s Council on Arts, the Departments of Education, Transportation, Cultural Affairs, and Youth and Community Development.

Anyone who claims these programs are “innocent” haven’t been paying attention. They are clearly designed to normalize what only a few years ago was considered bizarre, if not outrageous conduct. Now the radical left is attempting to mainstream it, and their target is young children. Remember when it was all about gay marriage? Yeah, good times.

So one must wonder what the intent of all of this is. Only one of two answers make sense…they are either trying to brainwash young children to believe dressing in drag is normal, or they are trying to trans the kids. Period.

For example, as the Post wrote, a recent drag event held at a Manhattan school “encourage[d] kids to choose their pronouns and invent drag names.” That would appear to be a dead giveaway.

“I am considering pulling funding to any school in my district that is implementing Drag Queen Story Hour,” said City Council member Vickie Paladino, a Queens Republican. “We are taking hundreds of thousands of dollars out of the pockets of hardworking New York taxpayers…to fund a program teaching little children about their gender fluidity? Not. On. My. Watch.”

In the city, most of the funds allocated came out of discretionary budgets, with $80,000 set aside for the group this fiscal year, more than triple the $25,000 earmarked in 2020.

The liberal pathogen that has spawned these drag queen story hours have been a prominent feature at public library branches throughout New York City since 2017. Upcoming events are scheduled for Manhattan’s Epiphany Library and the Woodside Public Library in Queens, along with a number of others.

While liberals claim the shows are “harmless” and are “fun” for children, the dark underbelly of these shows is much different, and proves what the shows are intended to do…normalize transgenderism and confuse kids.

Performers read aloud from a list of books that teach “acceptance” and “inclusion,” with titles such as “Where the Wild Things Are,” and “The Rainbow Fish,” while others openly advocate so-called “gender fluidity,” such as “The Hips on the Drag Queen Go Swish, Swish, Swish.”

Since the inmates started running the swamp in Washington, DC, however, things have gotten much darker, according to social media posts.

In April, a drag queen named Harmonica Sunbeam “wore a slinky gown to meet with kindergarteners at STAR Academy in Manhattan and color pages from ‘The Dragtivity Book,’ which encourages kids to choose their pronouns and invent drag names,” the Post wrote.

In May, a group of 2nd graders from Manhattan’s PS34 were accompanies on a field trip by “Bella Noche,” who “wore a scenty mermaid-like bra getup” while “Flame” taught middle schoolers across all genders how to apply drag eye makeup at MS88 in Park Slope. Yeah, this is “normal.”

After the Post called Drag Story Hour NYC for comment, the posts mysteriously disappeared from the Internet in under an hour.

The Post reports that one since-deleted photo showed a performer known as Professor Lionel Longlegs, who wore a t-shirt with the message “I Don’t Want to Look or Be Cis” before a group of elementary school kids in the library of PS 191 on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

Some parents, who probably should be locked up for risk of injury, have no problem at all with their children being exposed to such perversion and debauchery.

“I’m glad to see all types of people included in what students are exposed to and learn in class,” said a woman named Kristen Williams, 40, who has an eleven-year-old daughter.

Some parents, however, are concerned about exposing their children to such garbage. One, Storm Neverson, who has two daughters aged nine and six had reservations about the program…kind of.

“If they were in junior high school or middle school, I would be okay with that because I fell like they would have a little more understanding,” Neverson said. “At this time, the kids were just a little too young.”

While STAR Academy told parents of the program ahead of time, parents were not allowed to opt their children out of it.

“It was mostly just like a heads up, you know, like, ‘Hey, this event is coming up. We’re gonna have these people come in.’ And that was that,” she said.

Some parents however say they were never notified, such as Reese Harrington, a parent at PS 191.

“I didn’t get any notice,” Harrington said. “My daughter actually came home and told me that a drag queen came to the school…I feel like it would have been better for that conversation to happen at home.”

Last week, Law Enforcement Today reported on a drag queen show for children hosted at a Dallas gay bar, which was widely slammed. To nobody’s surprise, the Elon Musk-less Twitter suspended the Libs of Tik Tok Twitter account for shining a light on the twisted drag queen ideology.

The Department of Education didn’t respond directly to questions about parental notification, nor would they confirm if drag performers must pass background checks. They did however defend the program as “life saving.”

“Last year, 50 transgender or gender non-conforming people were killed in the United States [out of 334,805,000 people, or 15-one-millionth of the population] due to their gender identity,” spokeswoman Suzan Sumer said. “We believe our schools play a critical role in helping young people learn about and respect people who may be different from them.”

Also in transitioning kids.
