NYC councilor who called for 'justice' for attacker who died after restraint by hero, wonders 'where the men are' after random attacks on women

NEW YORK CITY, NY - One thing about progressive liberals…their propensity for tone-deafness is only eclipsed by their abject stupidity.

We'd like to introduce you to Amanda Farias, a New York City Council member and a Democrat. Farias once called for defunding the police as one of her "claims to fame." You may recall Daniel Penny, the retired Marine who, last year, stopped a maniac, Jordan Neely, from threatening passengers on a subway train. Penny put Neely in a headlock, and Neely ended up succumbing to the procedure.

Well, last year, Farias demanded “justice” for Neely while calling for Penny to be charged in his death. She got her wish after Manhattan’s radical leftist, George Soros-funded, calorically-challenged district attorney Alvin Bragg got Penney indicted for manslaughter.

So imagine the shock this past week when Farias, according to Fox News, responded to reports that a number of city women in New York had been attacked, at random, and punched in the face. In the ultimate display of hypocrisy, Farias posted on X:

‘Where are the men calling this out?”

This was in response to a post by the New York City Women’s Caucus responding to the spate of random attacks on women, where they claimed to be “deeply disturbed [and] concerned about widespread reports of attacks against women in NYC that have been confirmed by the NYPD.”

So Farias wonders why men in New York City are basically looking the other way as city women get randomly punched in the face? This after a man who did intervene on behalf of city residents and visitors was repaid for his courage by getting arrested. An arrest she called for!

Why would anyone, man or woman for that matter, want to get involved in an assault on anyone when the city’s lunatic district attorney repays that involvement by getting the person indicted? Why would they want to risk their liberty, their financial well-being, and their reputation by getting involved? Who would want to potentially risk their life by interceding?

After Farias posted her brain-dead tweet on X, she became the subject of well-deserved criticism, with some pointing out that many people fear retaliation by the government.

“Afraid to step up because woke politicians will try to destroy their lives?” asked Robby Starbuck, a former Tennessee congressional candidate.

Christina Pushaw, a former aide to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), also weighed in.

“Why aren’t men standing up against criminals who attack women in NYC? Great question…” she wrote, clearly being sarcastic.

Ryan GIrdusky, founder of the 1776 Project PAC also replied, “You support locking them up.”

“They [are] trying to not end up like Daniel Penny,” conservative commentator Mike Cernovich wrote.

Cernovich highlighted a 2023 post where Farias wrote that she “continue[d] to be heartbroken and outraged by the death of Jordan Neely and the lack of justice.” Others did as well.

“The @BLACaucusNYC stands together to demand justice for Jordan and pay attention to the systems that failed him so we do not lose any more Black New Yorkers to senseless violence,” she wrote on May 11, 2023.

Aside from insane DAs and unhinged politicians like Farias, those who were onboard the subway train hailed Penny as a hero.

“I’m looking at where we are in the tube, in the sardine can, and I'm like, ‘OK, we’re in between stations. There’s nowhere we can go,” she told Fox News Digital following the incident. “The people on that train, we were scared. We were scared for our lives.”

Another witness who recorded the viral video of the incident told the New York Post that he didn’t believe Neely was in danger as Penny and another man held him down.

Penny was fully cooperative with investigators and initially released. But pressure from the usual suspects and politicians led Bragg’s office to indict him 11 days later and charge him with manslaughter.

In 2021, Farias tweeted about the need “to significantly divest from police precincts” and also wanted to reduce “NYPD’s operating budget [and wanted to] partner alongside the community to create real solutions and justice for New Yorkers,” the New York Post reported.

Farias put her words into action when she helped override Mayor Eric Adams’ veto of the anti-NYPD “How Many Stops Act.”

As a typical hypocritical leftist, she now wonders not only where the police are, but also why nobody intervenes when it comes to unhinged criminals. Perhaps she should go back and reread her own tweets.
