New York City will reportedly start considering “race” and “equity” when distributing life saving treatments

NEW YORK CITY- This equity nonsense is getting to the point where it will start costing people their lives, and frankly it’s out of hand.

One only needs to ask what would happen if the races were flipped in such decisions and that is all you need to know. People would be rioting in the streets and would be completely justified in doing so.

Yet, whites are simply supposed to sit there and take it.

According to the New York Post, it is reported that New York City will start taking race into account when it comes to the distribution of life-saving COVID treatments, according to a post on the Department of Mental Health and Mental Hygiene’s website.

The post said that the city “will consider race and ethnicity when assessing individual risk,” according to guidance issued on December 20, adding that “longstanding systemic health and social inequities” can contribute to an increased risk of dying from COVID-19.

The city’s guidance applies not only to the distribution of monoclonal antibodies, which have proven to be an extremely effective treatment for COVID, but also oral antivirals including Paxlovid and Molnupiravir.

In October, the city said, “Monoclonal antibody treatments have averted at least 1,100 hospitalizations and at least 500 deaths among people treated in New York City.

” However just like the days when the Irish were discriminated against with “Irish need not apply” signs on doors, now hospitals in New York City have posted a virtual “whites need not apply” when it comes to getting life-saving treatments for COVID-19.

The order in New York has already had consequences, the Post reported.

According to a doctor in Staten Island, he filled two prescriptions this week for Paxlovid and was actually questioned by the pharmacist as to the race of his patients before the medication was authorized.

Can you imagine what the outrage would be if such a question were asked to avoid giving life-saving medication to minorities?

The next thing you know, men will be excluded from life-saving treatments—you know, the whole “white male ‘privilege’” thing.

“In my 30 years of being a physician, I have never been asked that question when I have prescribed any treatment,” said the doctor, who spoke on condition of anonymity. “The mere fact of having to ask this question is a slippery slope.”

In the case of both his patients, they were eventually given their prescriptions.

The Post said that under a recent RFP form on behalf of the city’s Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, it stressed that agency’s commitment to “racial equity.”

The…DOMHMH is committed to improving health outcomes for all New Yorkers [except whites apparently] by explicitly advancing racial equity and social justice.

Racial equity does not mean simply treating everyone equally, but rather, allocating resources and services in such a way that explicitly addresses barriers imposed by structural racism (i.e. policies and institutional practices that perpetuate racial inequity) and white privilege.

While the new racist guidance hasn’t yet excluded whites from getting treatment, some observers, as well as medical officials worry that a system is being put in place that could lead to excluding people by race (whites) during a drug shortage or case surge.

“We are collecting demographic data on COVID antivirals at the request of the city for anonymized data reporting purposes only, as is commonly done with COVID tests and vaccines,” said Michal Krueger, a pharmacy rep.

As of the moment, New York City is participating with Alto Pharmacy on an exclusive basis to distribute the new drugs.

While medical experts agree that COVID treatments should be doled out based on risk factors, they claim that race doesn’t qualify as a biological risk factor.

“I have not seen [race] as one of the risk factors for severe disease and death,” Martin Kulldorff, a Harvard epidemiologist and professor told The Post. “The reason that a lot of African Americans have died in New York—which is true—is because the rich people and more affluent were working from home while the working class were exposed.”

Kulldorff claimed “the lockdowns have discriminated against minorities,’ noting that the working class has been discriminated against and “minorities are a bigger proportion of the working class.”

However last week, the New York State Department of Health doesn’t agree with Kulldorff, issuing guidance that said “non-white race or Hispanic/Latino ethnicity should be considered a risk factor,” putting that in the same class of COVID risk factors as age and obesity.”

Meanwhile, city health officials issued a warning last week, noting that “there are severe supply shortages for all COVID-19 outpatient therapeutics.”

That would seem to indicate a failure of the Hochul and Biden administrations to properly plan for dealing with what has been a pandemic that simply will not let go.

During the presidential campaign and last year, Biden famously promised that he wouldn’t lock down the country but would “lock down the virus.” Now this past week, the US has seen cases as high as they’ve been since the beginning in 2020.

In response to a dictum from New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, who signed legislation deeming racism as a public health crisis, the son of former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Andrew Giuliani who is running for governor against Hochul slammed the legislation.

“It’s just absurd and it shows this is not about public health. This has not been about the health of New Yorkers from the get-go,” he said.

“Politics before the health and safety of New Yorkers. It continues from the Cuomo administration to the Hochul administration with these new laws.”

The Post reported that according to Michael Lanza of the city’s health department, he claims that people of color in the city have “borne the brunt of this pandemic due to structural racism,” as well as what he called was “the legacy of disinvestment in many minority communities.”

“Doctors are advised to consider the disproportionate impact felt by these communities in addition to systemic health disparities when prescribing treatments for people who are at highest risk for severe COVID-19 outcomes.”

Lanza also claimed that the reason for data collection was “to assess equitable distribution,” and claimed race would not be used as a reason to deny treatment.

The use of therapeutics—which was always an option for treatment of the coronavirus—has increased with the onset of the so-called “Omnicron variant,” which is highly resistant to the vaccines being pushed on the American people.

On Dec. 22, the FDA approved emergency use authorization for Paxlovid “for the treatment of mild-to-moderate coronavirus disease” for anyone 12 and older. Meanwhile a week later, Molnupiravir received its emergency use authorization.

For more on the insanity of the “equity mob,” we invite you to read a recent report on a group demanding “equity in crash dummies.”

DIG DEEPER

WASHINGTON, D.C. – An advocacy group for “equity in vehicle safety” has called upon Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg to implement greater equity in testing with car crash test dummies.

That group, VERITY NOW, is a self-described “coalition for vehicle equity rules in transportation.”

Its website states:

“VERITY (Vehicle Equity Rules in Transportation) NOW strives to achieve equity in vehicle safety by educating on, and advocating for, crash testing standards that protect every body, regardless of gender, height, weight or age.”

The site states further:

“Our mission is to educate about, and advocate for, updated crash testing standards and practices that protect every body.”

The advocacy group is co-chaired by former GOP Congresswoman Susan Molinari, and by Beth A. Brooke, former Global Vice-Chair of Public Policy at EY and “a prominent voice around the world on Diversity and Inclusion, including most prominently on LGBT inclusion and women.”

Molinari, Brooke, and a number of other signers, including former Congresspersons and Senators, recently penned a letter to Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg asking for gender equity in crash test dummy testing.

The letter begins by referring to all the attention the Biden administration has placed on diversity, equity and inclusion, stating:

“We recognize the level of importance this Administration and Congress have placed on the topic of diversity, equity, and inclusion. It could be argued that our nation has never been this focused on undoing inequities than any other time in modern history.

“Today, we are writing to you for your consideration on addressing an often-overlooked inequity in the area of vehicle crash testing and the surrounding safety standards.”

It continues by insisting that “gender bias in vehicle safety” is causing needless deaths and injuries in “thousands of women,” noting:

“Government standards for vehicle crash testing are outdated and unequal, causing thousands of women to be needlessly killed and injured every year. This deadly gender bias in vehicle safety is unacceptable. It is time to stop studying this issue and fix it – now.”

The letter goes on to state:

“Females are not just smaller versions of males. Due to differences in physiology and driver positioning, women’s and men’s bodies behave differently in a crash. But our government does not equitably account for these differences, either in design regulations (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, or FMVSS) or voluntary 5-star safety ratings (the New Car Assessment Program, known as NCAP).

“As a result of this government-supported bias in design, women die and are more at risk of serious injury in a crash than men.”

The letter goes on to assert that over a thousand women die “needlessly” every year due to lack of “equality” in vehicle design and testing.

It reads:

“The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) – the agency that creates and oversees FMVSS [Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards] and NCAP [New Car Assessment Program] ratings – has been in possession of data for years that show women are 17%-18.5% more likely to die in a vehicle crash than men.

“That means up to 1,342 women are needlessly dying every year.

“But while crash test dummy manufacturers have created technologies that could make vehicles safer for women and other under-represented groups, neither the FMVSS nor NCAP have been updated to reflect advancements that would bring equality to vehicle design.”

The authors also assert later in the letter:

“By using outdated and male-centric crash-test dummies and by limiting the scope of testing of NCAP, NHTSA allows – according to its own research – over 1300 women to be killed every year.”

The letter further describes differences between men and women in terms of neck injuries and pregnancy, saying:

“NHTSA’s current NCAP 5-star rating voluntary crash test regime does not require testing female dummies in the driver’s seat. Instead, a dummy derived from the measurements of a 1970s average-sized male is used.

“Women are significantly more prone to whiplash in a crash. Relative to males of the same age, females in deadly crashes were 9.4% more likely to die as a result of neck injury.

“And differences are exacerbated when women become pregnant – for instance, standard seatbelts do not fit more than sixty percent of third-trimester pregnant women.”

The letter makes three demands of the Biden administration.

First, it calls for the NHTSA to update NCAP “immediately,” so that “all tests use the most up-to-date male and female technology in the driver and passenger seat tests to ensure equitable testing which will help close the safety gap for women and other vulnerable groups.”

Second, it calls for the NHTSA to “update FMVSS standards,” in order to “use the most advanced generation of technology and ensure equitable testing of the most biofidelic female and male dummies in all FMVSS crash test positions, thereby reducing injuries most prevalent in women, young adults, and elderly occupants.”

Third, it calls upon Congress to see that the NHTSA review crash testing regularly “with the intent of implementing the latest crash test technologies, so that we never fall behind again.”

There is no record at this writing of a response to VERITY NOW from Transportation Secretary Buttigieg.

However, Fox News reports that the NHTSA “insists it is using a variety of dummies on many of its tests.”

According to a NHTSA spokesperson:

“Safety is central to NHTSA’s mission and we are committed to improving safety for all road users.

“NHTSA does use a female crash test dummy in our compliance frontal testing program.”

The spokesperson continued:

“NHTSA is working to develop crash simulation and human body models to represent a wide range of occupant size, sex, and ages.

“These tools will be used to identify targets for future safety efforts.”

Report: Co-chair of “Racial Equity Committee” who doxxed parents resigns, cites “vile attacks from white supremacists”

Originally published December 10, 2021

FORT WORTH, TX- According to reports, Norma Garcia-Lopez, co-chair of the School Board’s “Racial Equity Committee” resigned on Wednesday, December 8th, after admitting to releasing personal information of parents on the internet and leaving a profane voicemail for at least one parent.

Garcia-Lopez wrote in an email:

“I am writing to inform [Forth Worth Independent School District] that it has become necessary for me to resign from my volunteer positions with the District, including as a member and co-chair of the Racial Equity Committee and as a member of the Redistricting Committee.”

She cited the “vile and relentless attacks” on her by “white supremacists” as the reason for her resignation. Her email also stated:

“Every student in FWISD deserves equity and respect. That is my passion and reason for serving on those committees. I cannot allow the vile and relentless attacks on me by white supremacists to distract from or overshadow the continued pursuit of equity in FWISD. That work is too vital.”

However, according to another report from Breitbart News, Garcia-Lopez was actively going after parents who disagreed with her. The report stated:

“Parents were doxxed due to their opposition to Critical Race Theory and their active lawsuit against the school district for its mask mandate policy, one in which a court granted a preliminary injunction, but which the school district has appealed twice to higher courts.”

Garcia-Lopez admitted to releasing personal information of parents, despite rejecting the claim that she “doxxed” parents, telling the Fort Worth Star-Telegram:

“Some people consider my actions doxxing. It’s not doxxing when you expose someone who filed a public motion in a public court of law that impacts public school children.”

Garcia-Lopez reportedly released the personal information and subsequently told the internet to “do your thang.” She also admitted to leaving a profane voicemail to one parent, Kerri Rehmeyer:

“(Expletive) you, you stupid (expletive) Kerri Rehmeyer. (Expletive) you, with your white privilege not caring about the well-being of others. (Expletive) you.”

She went on to defend her voicemail saying:

“My message contained harsh language, no threats … Some people find my choice of words in that message offensive, but what’s really offensive is that four white parents could hold so much power.”

Claudia Garibay, a spokeswoman for the district, confirmed the news of the resignation of Garcia-Lopez, saying:

“Ms. Norma Garcia-Lopez is a community member, not an employee of the District and has voluntarily relinquished her position as co-chair of the Racial Equity Committee.”

Rehmeyer said she was pleased to hear about Garcia-Lopez’s departure. She said:

“Ultimately, we are relieved to hear that Norma Garcia-Lopez will no longer hold positions of influence in Fort Worth ISD, but we are disappointed by the complete lack of action by the Board of Trustees.”

She said that the trustees did not bother to notify them that Garcia-Lopez had resigned.

Garcia- Lopez had been active on social media, not only doxxing parents but levying other personal attacks. She apparently mocked Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) for needing a wheelchair as well as shared a post likening opponents of mask mandates to members of the Ku Klux Klan. The post said:

“Y’all had no problem wearing masks when you were burning crosses on our lawns, bombing our churches, and lynching black people.”
