New York City, a once bustling and vibrant city, which saw historic victories against crime, violence, homelessness and filth, has fallen victim to the old saying, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it”.

Seems that the current fool sitting high in his castle forgot the hard work and dedication of the prior administration. The huge gains made due to the hard work of the city’s workforce.

We have seen a huge increase in the homeless population complete with beggers and squeegee men at major roadways and bridges, aggressively pan-handling. We’ve seen an increase in the number of assaults against police officers. We’ve seen a plummet in morale in the NYPD with a noted decrease in activity by rookie and seasoned officers alike.

Brazen low-level street crime is common amongst all the boroughs with a new viral video popping up every other day. Communities are fighting with cops that are trying to secure the scene of a fire, fighting with police as their building burns down. And most recently, EMT’s beaten and pepper sprayed for not transporting a patient to a different hospital when triage was taking too long.

Mayor de Blasio’s administration failed to step up and address these acts. I guess it’s hard to stand up against the thugs of NYC when you know deep down it’s those individuals who are casting votes for you.

His silence is a sign of his lack of courage and shortage of intestinal fortitude.

Speaking of the right thing, the administration is now discussing the licensing, or rather ‘registration’ of bikes in NYC. Because nothing makes a city safer than the residents paying a fee to register their bikes… Not to mention the hundreds of cops that will be sent out to strictly enforce bike regulations.

It’s sad… but this seems to be the future of NYC.

Did you know that Law Enforcement Today has a private new home for those who support emergency responders and veterans?  It’s called LET Unity, and it’s where we share the untold stories of those patriotic Americans.  Every penny gets reinvested into giving these heroes a voice.  Check it out today.

Mayor de Blasio and his “Vision Zero” plan, which places bike lanes all over the city, lowers speed limits and encourages the use of bikes for the environment are going to drive up even more taxpayer costs.

The local commute is so much easier via a bike. Right now, at least. Since the numbers are swelling, the mayor wants to force people to register their bikes, forcing the environmentally conscious to pay fees to ride, undoubtedly also leading to an increase of officers being forced to pummel them with fines.

Residents are fleeing the city for greener pastures and this is definitely one of the times when the grass is greener on the other side. The increase in lawlessness compounded by the political pandering to the dredge of society is rotting the core of the Big Apple like a cancer.

It’s slowing being stripped of its life and vitality that so many fought and died to bring back. If ever there were a time to bring solid and common sense candidates into the state and city, now would be that time. Like a beacon with a bat logo shining from Commissioner Gordon’s rooftop, our own Gotham is calling for a hero to answer her call.
