Minnesota Democrats honor woman who defended a child sexual abuser

Share:

MINNESOTA- This is literally the epitome of hypocrisy.

The Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party (DFL) on its website under purpose says, “The purpose of the DFL Party shall be to elect candidates to public office who represent our shared values.”

Apparently, those values include endorsing women who defend child abusers.

Ironically, the DFL railed against Republicans for confirming Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. More on that in a moment.

The Minnesota House DFL was hosting a women’s equality event on some made-up day called Women’s Equality Day. Really, does everything now have a “day?”

Anyhow, the DFL was forced to modify its announcement of a women’s day event after it originally promoted a woman named Winona LaDuke who is a so-called “pipeline activist.”

She also supports perverts apparently.

The original promotional materials featured various sponsorship levels, named after prominent women in history, such as poet Maya Angelou and former congresswoman Shirley Chisolm. LaDuke was also featured.

After receiving backlash for promoting LaDuke on the flyer, the graphic was updated to denote sponsorship levels, however the names of women attached to those levels has been removed.

According to Alpha News Minnesota, LaDuke has been caught multiple times defending sexual abusers who worked for her nonprofit organization, Honor the Earth.

According to court documents, one of LaDuke’s top organizers, a man named Michael Dahl, allegedly had sex with an underaged boy, which LaDuke actually defended back in 2015. LaDuke said that while Dahl “probably did have sex” with the minor, she justified it by claiming that Dahl is of the “two-spirit” sexual orientation.

For those unfamiliar which admittedly we were not, “two spirit” is, according to Dictionary.com an “umbrella term across American Indian and First Nations cultures for a person who embodies both male and female spirits within them, hence two spirit.”

In other words, bi-sexual. Still, it isn’t certain why LaDuke justified Dahl’s conduct under that definition. A pedophile is a pedophile.

In addition to Dahl, LaDuke has also defended one of her former board members, Nahko Bear when he was accused numerous times of sexually harassing and groping underage girls.

“He’s a good man [clearly], but I’m not responsible for any of his behavior with women,” LaDuke said in an interview last year when the man resigned.

In addition to the above, LaDuke was also alleged to have let sexual harassment occur under her watch, alleged in a lawsuit from a former Honor the Earth employee, who said she was sexually harassed by Dahl in 2014 and 2015 and that LaDuke blew off her complaints.

LaDuke is one of the leading opponents of a project called “Line 3,” a proposed pipeline expansion which would send oil sands from Hardisty, located in the province of Alberta, Canada to Superior, Wisconsin. LaDuke calls the project the “ecological equivalent to Auschwitz,” then publicly apologized for her clearly “inappropriate analogy.”

Honor the Earth is one of the leading organizations protesting the construction of Line 3 and have been involved in causing vandalism to construction equipment and also tossed a fake bomb into a construction area.

In May, Honor the Earth was found by Minnesota’s Seventh District Court to have engaged in human rights violations. The court said the organization may face “potential criminal and civil liability for human rights violations” stemming from sexual abuse of a former employee.

Honor the Earth tried to claim that because the complainant was an “at-will” employee, they should not be held liable if she was indeed abused. Likewise, they also argued that “her dissemination of the sexual abuse allegations to the public was premature, and an internal employment and human resources issue,” court documents read.

Moreover, far-left neo-Marxist representative Ilhan Omar (D-MN) has been a supporter of Honor the Earth. No surprise there.

So where exactly does the DFL’s hypocrisy come in? Well in 2018, the DFL was all up in arms about the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

Under the DFL’s website tagged under “pedophilia,” the DFL railed against the confirmation of Kavanaugh, complaining, “All but one Senate Republican voted Saturday to confirm credibly accused sexual predator Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, marking the GOP’s embrace of sexual assault and victim shaming.” [emphasis added]

First of all, the claim that Kavanaugh was “credibly accused” is a joke.

Secondly, the DFL’s claim that the GOP was somehow engaged in the “embrace of sexual assault.” Is laughable given their advocacy of LaDuke, who herself “embrace[d]…sexual assault.”

The DFL also of course went after former President Donald Trump whom they alleged was “accused of sexual assault by more than a dozen women.” We looked for any criticism by DFL of former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who WAS credibly accused of sexual harassment and sexual assault, however, didn’t find any.

For more on Minnesota’s resident radical member of Congress, Ilhan Omar, we invite you to:

DIG DEEPER

ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA – “Squad” member Rep. Ilhan Abdullahi Omar (D-MN) is facing serious backlash from a terrorist organization and fellow Democrats after making comments equating Hamas to the United States and Israel.

Monday, Omar posted a video on Twitter showing her questioning Secretary of State Antony Blinken in a video call about the U.S.’s opposition to the International Criminal Court investigating alleged war crimes in Afghanistan and Israel. She tweeted:

“We must have the same level of accountability and justice for all victims of crimes against humanity. We have seen unthinkable atrocities committed by the U.S., Hamas, Israel, Afghanistan, and the Taliban.”

Hamas, a Palestinian Islamic fundamentalist movement engaged in grassroots organizing and armed resistance and terrorism against Israel, denounced the Democratic radical progressive’s comments in a Friday press release:

“(Translated) The recent statements of Mrs. Ilhan Omar, a member of the US House of Representatives, in which she equated the victim with the executioner, are very surprising, as she equated the resistance of the Palestinian people on the one hand, and the crimes of the Israeli occupation in Palestine and the American aggression in Afghanistan on the other.

The militant terrorist organization said that it appreciated Omar’s “just rights of our Palestinian people,” they “deplore” the inclusion of Hamas with the U.S. and Israel, calling it “contrary to justice and international law.”

Hamas went on to issue propaganda in support of its outrage at Omar’s comments, claiming that the Hamas advocates for peace and justice for Palestinians, while Israel and America violate international law and oppress them:

“The Palestinian people have been living under the Zionist occupation for more than seven decades, during which they suffered a lot, and the most heinous crimes were committed against them.

Throughout these decades, they remained steadfast, fighting for their freedom and independence, given all opportunities, showed a lot of flexibility, and paid very high prices to achieve these rights by peaceful means.

“However, the other side refused to comply with all international resolutions, and continued its arrogance and oppression of our people and threatening international stability and security, and unfortunately, with the full support and protection of successive US administrations.”

Hamas asked that Omar, and all supporters of Palestine, to “describe things correctly and accurately because this is the most important starting point for laying the foundations for a just solution to this chronic conflict.”

Omar’s grouping of Hamas with the U.S. and Israel also did not sit well with some members of her own party.  About a dozen House Democratic Jewish lawmakers publicly denounced her comments, accusing her of giving “cover” to terrorists.

In a statement issued by the group, led by Rep. Brad Schneider (D-IL), issued a statement asking Omar to issue a clarification of her remarks:

“Equating the United States and Israel to Hamas and the Taliban is as offensive as it is misguided.”

Some of the signers of the statement included Reps. Brad Sherman (D-CA).; Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ); Jake Auchincloss (D-MA); and Ted Deutch (D_FL).

Omar shot back calling the Jewish lawmakers “shameful” and “Islamophobic tropes”:

“The Islamophobic tropes in their statement are offensive. The constant harassment and silencing from the signers of this letter is unbearable”, the Minnesota representative tweeted.

“It’s shameful for colleagues who call me when they need my support to now put out a statement asking for “clarification” and not just call.”

Omar also felt the wrath of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), who issued a statement from the leadership:

“Drawing false equivalencies between democracies like the U.S. and Israel and groups that engage in terrorism like Hamas and the Taliban foments prejudice and undermines progress toward a future of peace and security for all.

“We welcome the clarification by Congresswoman Omar that there is no moral equivalency between the U.S. and Israel and Hamas and the Taliban.”

While being attack from all sides for her comments, Omar found support in one reliable corner, her fellow “Squad” members. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) tweeted:

“Pretty sick & tired of the constant vilification, intentional mischaracterization, and public targeting of (Omar) coming from our caucus. They have no concept for the danger they put her in by skipping private conversations & leaping to fueling targeted news cycles around her.”

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) said Omar was being silenced by the leadership as a “Congresswoman of color”:

“Freedom of speech doesn’t exist for Muslim women in Congress. The benefit of the doubt doesn’t exist for Muslim women in Congress. House Democratic leadership should be ashamed of its relentless, exclusive tone policing of Congresswomen of color.”

Another “Squad” member, Cori Bush (D-MO) also has harsh words about the party leadership for their criticism of Omar for their “anti-blackness and Islamophobia”:

“Stop attacking [Omar]. Stop attacking us. I’m not surprised when Republicans attack Black women for standing up for human rights. But when it’s Democrats, it’s especially hurtful. We’re your colleagues. Talk to us directly. Enough with the anti-Blackness and Islamophobia.”

In a statement issued Thursday, Omar’s Senior Communications Director/Strategist Jeremy Slevin released a statement defending her comments, and bizarrely blaming the “far right” for the negative Democratic reactions to her comments:

“As usual, the far right is ginning up hate against Rep. Omar for a technical question about an ongoing investigation. This has already led to an increase in death threats against her and our staff. And now some of her own Democratic colleagues are ginning up the same Islamophobic hate against her, accusing her of giving ‘cover to terrorist groups’ simply for exercising oversight over a criminal investigation.

“It is Rep. Omar’s role as a Member of Congress conducting federal oversight to follow the facts, ask questions of the Administration and work to make sure the public understands our government shouldn’t deny any person from seeking justice.”

President Biden and the White House have remained silent during the war of words occurring inside his Democratic party.
