Officer Graves, 45, was on patrol on the tribal lands near the Lincoln/Payne County line when an oncoming vehicle struck his patrol unit. The automobile that struck Graves was passing another vehicle at the time of the collision. The condition of the other driver, medical treatment, and potential criminal charges were undisclosed.

Officer Graves served the Sac and Fox Nation Tribal Police Department for 2 ½ years. He also worked part time for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department in their Special Operations Section. Graves had previously served with the Shroud Police Department and the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center Police Department. His wife, Janet and their children survive him.
