Rep. McClintock: DC riot could have been avoided if Black Lives Matter rioters had been prosecuted last summer

WASHINGTON, DC- Revenge-obsessed Democrats, along with a few gutless Republicans have decided to impeach President Trump for a second time relative to the riots that took place at the US Capitol on January 6. One Republican member of Congress however believes the whole thing could have been avoided.

Democrats continue their charade of blaming the president despite the fact that according to the Washington Post, protesters showed up at the US Capitol and started to breach the building well before the president was done with his speech.

In fact, by the time President Trump ended his speech at 1:10 pm, protesters had already stormed an outer barricade at the Capitol. Nonetheless, the protesters, who were evidently psychic, apparently heard the president encourage them to storm the Capitol.

With all of that said, all of this could very well have been avoided according to Rep. Tom McClintock (R-CA), who said on Wednesday that if rioters affiliated with Black Lives Matter (BLM) and Antifa had been prosecuted this past summer, there might not have been a riot at the Capitol, according to the Daily Caller.

Instead, we saw Democrats such as Kamala Harris supporting the Minnesota Freedom Fund, which paid bail for rioters in Minneapolis, many charged with serious crimes including arson, assault, and assaulting police officers.

Clearly, those who decided to attack the Capitol probably felt emboldened by the coddling of rioters throughout the summer and fall of 2020 primarily by Democrats.

Speaking about those who stormed the Capitol, McClintock, who wore a mask that read “This mask is as useless as my governor,” a tribute to Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA), said that the “vast majority” of those who attended the rally acted “peacefully.”

“But every movement has a lunatic fringe. Suppressing free speech is not the answer. Holding rioters accountable for their actions is the answer and we are,” he said.

“And if we had prosecuted BLM and antifa rioters across the country with the same determination these last six months, this incident may not have happened at all,” McClintock said in a floor speech in the House of Representatives.

His comments came during comments related to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s introduction of one article of impeachment on Tuesday.

The article accuses the president of insurrection, which is of course absurd. McClintock was referring to the fervor to impeach President Trump for a second time compared to Democrats interest in having rioters prosecuted last year.

In his speech, McClintock called impeachment “the most solemn and consequential act that Congress can take” aside from the declaration of war, however said he believed it was not being used with proper discretion.

“To use it in this manner, in the heat of the moment, with no hearings, no due process, many members phoning in their votes after a hastily called debate, exactly one week before a new president is to take office, trivializes this power to the point of caricature.”

Hey, caricature fits in perfectly with Pelosi, the Squad and the rest of the clown show that makes up the House Democratic caucus.

McClintock continued, in noting that the Democratic Party now has control of both houses of Congress, as well as the White House, that:

“in a republic that calls for magnanimity by the victors, only in a banana republic does it call for vengeance.”

McClintock said that by using “intemperate speech” and turning it into a high crime and misdemeanor, Democrats were taking a dangerous step.

“The moment any member of this body gives an impassioned speech, and a lunatic fringe of their movement takes license from it, be prepared to answer to this new precedent we established today.”

McClintock continued that there was plenty of evidence of “provocative speeches made by Democrats that directly preceded violence this summer” where rioters and looters laid siege to city after city across the United States.

“I just don’t even know why there aren’t uprisings?”- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi

“There needs to be unrest in the streets!” – Rep Ayanna Pressley (D-MA)

“When they go low, we kick them!”—Former Attorney General Eric Holder

“I will go and take Trump out tonight!”—Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA)

“They’re not going to stop before Election Day, they’re not going to stop after Election Day. They’re not going to let up, and they should not!”—Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) to CBS Late Show’s Steven Colbert

McClintock told fellow representatives to remember what had occurred during the Civil War and President Abraham Lincoln’s appeal to heal the wounds caused by the war.

“Lincoln,” he said, said ‘with malice toward none, with charity for all, let us bind up the nation’s wounds.’”

“I cannot think of a more petty, vindictive, and gratuitous act than to impeach an already defeated president a week before he is to leave office,” McClintock added, continuing that “this ‘unconstitutional act’ makes a ‘mockery’ out of President-elect Joe Biden’s pledge to restore national unity.”

Clearly Democrats couldn’t care less about restoring national unity. They are out for revenge and have shown they are unconcerned about thumbing their nose at half the country that voted for President Trump.

House Democrats impeached President Trump for a second time Wednesday, however it is likely a fool’s errand.

A number of constitutional scholars, including Professor Jonathan Turley of Georgetown School of Law, have said that a former president cannot be tried for impeachment.

Under the current Senate calendar, any such trial wouldn’t take place until after the unfortunate swearing in of cognitively impaired Joe Biden.

For more on the riots and the possible role of China in helping to facilitate them, we invite you to:

WASHINGTON D.C. – This should be a wakeup call to all of us.

Gordon Chang is an American of Chinese ancestry who has spent decades in China and has reported and written extensively about the threat of China.

He recently warned that China meddled in the 2020 presidential election as well as engaged in “an act of war” against the United States by enflaming the Antifa and Black Lives Matter riots in several American cities over the summer.

In an interview with American Thought Leaders, a show run by The Epoch Times, Chang said:

“China certainly wanted to influence the outcome of the election.

So, for instance, during the Democratic Party nomination process, they supported Joe Biden over Bernie Sanders and during the general election, I think that they were trying to unseat President Trump.”

Chang also noted that:

“There was a massive disinformation campaign conducted especially by the Chinese Foreign Ministry, which is official, and the Global Times, which is the communist Party tabloid. Also, there were the troll and bot farm operations, which were actually quite massive.”

Chang then mentioned the “Spamouflage Dragon” network of Chinese bots that launched ads attacking Trump as well as the fact that Twitter took down some 174,000 fake Chinese accounts in June. Chang said:

“So, they really went after the Republican candidate.”

Chang went on to describe something much more sinister, something that he called an “act of war.” According to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), the Chinese military, the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), based an intelligence unit in the then-open Houston consulate, which essentially helped Chinese soldiers to infiltrate American society.

According to reports, the Trump administration closed China’s consulate in Houston in late July. A news release said, in part:

“Yesterday, we issued, we being the Department of Justice, a press release highlighting a network of PLA associates who concealed their military affiliation when applying for student visas here.

One of those individuals was a fugitive from justice until last night, having received sanctuary in the San Francisco consulate. That press release and the individuals charged there are a microcosm, we believe, of a broader network of individuals in more than 25 cities.”

According to a ChinaScope report from August, that PLA unit:

“Sent staff members from a large network company, with fake IDs, to China’s consulate in Houston.

Those technicians used a large video platform’s backend data to identify people who might participate in the Black Lives Matter (BLM) and Antifa’s protests and then created and sent them customized videos on how to organize riots and how to do promotions.”

ChinaScope also claimed that PLA officers sent the videos directly to likely protesters and rioters, to keep them private from the media or the public at large. PJ Media’s Bryan Preston said:

“It sounds an awful like like the Chinese Communist Party used PLA officers armed with fake Huawei IDs to access TikTok data to target likely protesters in cities around the United States.”

Preston added:

“This was then a nearly undetectable micro-targeting engagement from a communist government to like-minded Marxist groups and individuals across the United States. The rioters’ goal is not any particular policy outcome, but to subvert and weaken America.”

He said:

“Destroying our cities, defunding law enforcement, agitating against ICE, and dividing America along racial lines all support the goal of weakening the United States, which happens to be China’s long-term foreign policy goal.”

Chang agreed with Preston’s assessment, but took it to another level. He said:

“Also, there’s something else which I think had an effect, although it may have not been directly election-related. Radio Free Asia reports that the Chinese military, the Chinese Liberation Army, actually based an intelligence unit in the then-open Houston consulate.”

He added:

“From there, they used artificial intelligence and big data to identify Americans likely to participate in Antifa and Black Lives Matter protests and then they sent them videos through TikTok on how to riot.”

He said:

“So, this went beyond subversion. This was actually an act of war and because its caused turmoil, it had an effect on the election. As I said, it wasn’t directly related to Beijing’s favorite candidate, but nonetheless, I think it did ultimately have an effect.”
