Mainstream media pundits try to tell us that Mayor Pete Buttigieg is a “moderate.” When you are in a party full of far-left nuts like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, Mao or Stalin could appear “moderate.” However despite the BS coming from the media, Buttigieg is anything but a moderate.
Earlier this week at a campaign rally in Utah, Buttigieg made the claim that so-called “dreamers”—illegal immigrants brought to the United States as children, had:
“every bit a claim on this country as the rest of us.”
Think about that statement a minute—“every bit a claim on this country as the rest of us.”
Then Buttigieg channeled his best Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke and continued in Spanish, which translated to English equated to:
“We should tell dreamers that we support them, and we understand that this country is your country too.”
This is the state of the Democratic Party.
People who entered this country illegally are now being given the same status as people who were born here, at least by Democrats. It is no wonder that some people make the claim that “liberalism is a mental disorder.” Buttigieg is the poster child for that statement.
In a move clearly intended to pander to Hispanic voters in Nevada, Buttigieg has channeled his inner Hispanic by stepping up his use of Spanish and obsessive show of support for amnesty and tax-funded health care for illegals.
This is an attempt to shore up support prior to the Nevada caucuses this weekend.
On Monday, Buttigieg told Nevada voters that the legal immigration system was not allowing enough people into the country.
“This country needs more people than its immigration system is willing to allow,” he bellowed. “So what happens? The people come, but then they are endangered of all of the uncertainties of being undocumented in this country.”
Yeah Pete, like being arrested for being here illegally perhaps?
Last month, Buttigieg said that he would have taxpayer-funded health care if he was elected president. That’s ok Buttigieg…ain’t happening.
“As you know, the Affordable Care Act, one of the many missing pieces that it has is that the exchanges are not available to the undocumented,” Buttigieg said. “I would change that, and that would be a change that would come with the ‘Medicare-for-All-Who-Want-It’ plan that I am proposing.”
The former mayor of a small town in Indiana told an illegal immigrant that he viewed her as an American despite her illegal status.
“So, first of all, this should go without saying but it’s important to say out loud that I regard you and all DACA recipients as American as I am or anybody else is in this room,” Buttigieg said.
Buttigieg may have served in some capacity in the military, but he is apparently tone-deaf when it comes to the sacrifices made by our military over nearly 250 years to protect our country and defend it from invasion. And yes, the over-running of our border by illegals is an invasion.
Back in December, Buttigieg had again expressed a desire to provide taxpayer-funded healthcare to illegals during a conversation with the voter in Spanish.
“So the most important thing for me is that we offer the opportunity for health care to all in our country, and this includes the opportunity to buy this plan of Medicare-for-All-who-want-it,” he said.
“This is our solution. And this opportunity to buy this plan is for everyone regardless of their immigration status.”
If the United States did provide healthcare to illegals, it would be one of the only countries in the world to do so. Even Norway, which has universal, government-run coverage places restrictions on health care for undocumented immigrants. They may receive emergency care, but have to pay other costs.
So, how much would it cost to provide healthcare for illegals? One estimate says that it could cost up to $23 billion per year.
The Center for Immigration Studies, a Washingon-based think tank that wants to reduce immigration, estimates that there are currently 4.9 million uninsured undocumented immigrants in the U.S. with income low enough to qualify for federal assistance.
Subsidizing them to buy private health insurance through an ACA (Obamacare) exchange would cost an average of $4,600 each. If all enrolled, it would put U.S. taxpayers on the hook for $22.6 billion annually.
Of course Buttigieg is not alone in wanting to open the floodgates for illegal immigrants to receive healthcare. At the first Democratic presidential debate last June, all 10 presidential candidates said that they were in favor of providing such coverage.
At the time, Buttigieg said, “This is not a handout. This is an insurance program. We do ourselves no favors by having 11 million undocumented people in our country be unable to access healthcare.”
No Buttigieg, we do not. Perhaps that is why we need to enforce our borders, and send those who entered here illegally back from where they came from.
There are plenty of American citizens that need help. Look no further than cities such as Los Angeles and San Francisco. They are far more worthy of our tax dollars than individuals who should not be here in the first place.
