Apparently committing a crime nowadays is the best way to get rewarded in this country. Don’t believe me? Just ask Democratic presidential hopeful Mayor Pete Buttigieg.
A video has recently been released of the candidate telling an individual that if he is elected president, all illegal immigrants would be given government healthcare.
Now you may be asking, what does that have to do with committing crimes? Whether people want to acknowledge it or not, crossing the border into the United States is a crime. So why should anyone who acts in this criminal manner this be entitled to anything free?
According to Breitbart News,
“Mayor Pete Buttigieg on Sunday told a Hispanic worker in South Carolina that illegal immigrants would have access to government-funded health care if he was elected president.”
A supporter of the Democratic candidate recorded the interaction between the presidential hopeful and a worker.
In the video Buttigieg can be heard speaking to the woman in Spanish and telling her who would be covered with government funded healthcare should he be elected.
According to Breitbart News, “The Republican National Committee Research Team published a clip of the exchange with the translation of the South Bend Mayor’s remark:”
From Spanish to English translation, he said:
“So, the most important thing for me is that we offer the opportunity for health care to all in our country, and this includes the opportunity to buy this plan of Medicare for All who want it. That is our solution. And this opportunity to buy this plan is for everyone regardless of their immigration status.”
Now critics of the Democratic candidate are demanding that Buttigieg tell the American citizens that he is willing to give up free government healthcare to illegals, and they want him to say it in English.
This video was recorded when Mayor Buttigieg attended and participated in a roundtable discussion at a South Carolina restaurant on Sunday which was sponsored by “The Fight for $15 Action Fund’ and the ‘South Carolina McDonald’s workers’.
Republican National Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel blasted Buttigieg on Twitter,
“I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Just because Pete Buttigieg is from Indiana doesn’t make him a moderate.”

Buttigieg has waffled on his position regarding immigration. In July of 2019 during one of the democratic presidential debates featured on CNN, Buttigieg stated that should he become president, “illegal border crossings will still be illegal”.
As reported by CNS News this statement was in direct contradiction of “his earlier support for decriminalizing illegal border crossings”.
During the debate Buttigieg commented,
“When I am president, illegally crossing the border will still be illegal. We can argue over the finer points of which parts of this ought to be handled by civil law and which parts ought to be handled by criminal law, but we’ve got a crisis on our hands, and it’s not just a crisis of immigration. It’s a crisis of cruelty and incompetence that has created a humanitarian disaster on our southern border. It is a stain on the United States of America.”
Yet, this past Sunday he stated he would allow illegal border crossers government funded healthcare. So apparently Buttigieg can’t decide which side of the argument he’s going to stand on. Can’t support both causes. Illegal border crossing is illegal and Buttigieg publicly acknowledged that he would keep that in place, or at least he did during the CNN debate.
During that very debate in July the South Bend Mayor was called on his flip flopping by CNN’s Dana Bash where she stated,
“But just a point of clarification, you did raise your hand in the last debate. You do want to decriminalize crossing the border illegally.”
Trying to skirt around his original stance he followed with,
“So, in my view, if fraud is involved, then that’s suitable for the criminal statute. If not, then it should be handled under civil law, but these show of hands are exactly what is wrong with the way that this race is being covered,” Buttigieg responded.
If the Mayor of South Bend Indiana Mayor is willing to change his position on such an important topic as illegal border crossing in the span of a single democratic debate – what else will he waver on? What else should the American citizens be aware of that he will side step on?

Buttigieg tried to defend his response by stating that President Trump could fix the “crisis at the border”, which he did acknowledge in July, in a single month. However, he made a point to state that the reason the President hasn’t succeeded is because he continues to make everything into a crisis.
Pete Buttigieg says America has a crisis of "cruelty" and "incompetence" at the U.S. Southern Border.

Perhaps that Mayor needs a reminder that it is the Democrats that have been fighting the President every step of the way in securing our borders.
