Man accused of stomping stranger into coma on video for social media – now the victim is dead

HOUSTON, TX – It’s the kind of story that makes you wonder what is happening to humanity.

Isaiah Molina is accused of approaching a stranger and brutally beating him without provocation.  Molina allegedly recorded portions of the beating and uploaded them to Facebook for the world to see.

In September, the victim, 52 year-old Brett Rabb was sitting on a park bench at Montrose Park, and by all accounts, minding his own business.  Apparently, Molina had approached Rabb then began mercilessly beating him.

Molina stomped on the victim’s head until he was unconscious; while simultaneously recording portions of the beating and posted it on Facebook.

Neighbors who witnessed the beating called 911 to get Brett help.  When police and medics arrived on scene, they found Brett unresponsive with a large amount of blood on the ground.  Brett was taken to the hospital for medical care as Molina fled the scene.

On September 8th, Houston Police Department Detectives Ferrell and Bowling reported:

“A witness observed the suspect dragging Mr. Rabb away from a small park inside the roadway esplanade.  The suspect fled the scene and Rabb was taken to an area hospital with severe injuries to his face.”

Brett’s brother, Kiko Rabb, said:

“He was at the park, sitting on a park bench and the witness said the guy just went up and attacked him…He [doctor] told me my brother has sustained a major brain injury.  And, also due to kicking him in the neck, he had a ruptured artery that broke and created a clot that went to his brain.”

Police located Molina in the area of the park, and took him into custody for the cowardly attack.  Prosecutors stated that Molina ultimately confessed to attacking Brett until he was no longer able to respond.  Police charged Molina with assault, since Brett was still alive and in the hospital at the time of the arrest.

After Molina was arrested, one of Brett’s brothers began looking up Molina on social media and discovered something horrific.  Molina had allegedly posted portions of the beating on Facebook.

Kiko said:

“It was extremely hard to look at.  And that’s all I can say.  Just thinking about it.”

Sadly, Brett eventually succumbed to his injuries and died later in the month of September after being taken off of life support.  Now, Brett’s family hopes that the initial charges of assault will be upgraded to homicide for Molina.

Kiko said:

“I hope this guy [Molina] is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and I hope he never sees another day outside.”

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office is actively reviewing the case to determine if homicide charges are warranted against Molina.  However, they cannot move forward on homicide charges until they receive the autopsy report.

The autopsy report will determine Brett Rabb’s exact cause of death, which will in turn determine if Molina will be held responsible.  And if Molina is charged, the autopsy report will be used as damning evidence against him.

Now, we are left to ask that age old question: “why?”  What caused Molina to commit such an abhorrent act?  Why did he choose Brett Rabb?  These are questions that may never be answered.

But what is abundantly clear is Isaiah Molina’s utter and complete disregard for human life.  What type of person thinks it is funny or cool to post video footage of him/herself brutally beating another human being for no apparent reason?

Why would anyone think that any normal, contributing member of society would want to see that?  Videos posted to the internet are forever, which, at least in this case, is a good thing as they will be used as evidence to present at Molina’s potential trial.

Should it be determined that Molina is responsible for Rabb’s death, hopefully, a jury would not take long to decide his guilt.  We can only hope that the District Attorney in this case will not entertain the thought of offering a plea bargain beforehand.

California great-grandfather, 80, dies after brutal grocery store beating and robbery

August 23, 2020 – LANCASTER, CA – Over a month after a brutal beating and robbery inside a grocery store bathroom, an 80-year-old man has since passed away due to complications revolving around his sustained injuries, according to reports.

The suspect arrested for the July attack could now be facing upgraded charges as a result.

Roberto Flores Lopez died on August 19 as a result of injuries he suffered from an attack inside a grocery store bathroom on July 8. The elderly man leaves behind his wife, three children, 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Cecilia Ramirez, one of Lopez’s children, stated the following about her father’s passing:

“My dad didn’t deserve this. My dad was a good man doing what everybody does every day. My dad was a giving, kind-hearted man and would never hurt anybody.”

The man said to be behind the attack is 22-year-old Damaris Wade, who was arrested on July 11 for the attack. According to a GoFundMe page established after the brutal attack, Lopez was said to have suffered five broken ribs, a broken eye socket and several facial fractures.

Lopez was first released from the hospital on July 20, but the sustained injuries became aggravated. He was readmitted to the hospital, where he later died as a result of the physical trauma he suffered.

Police had also originally arrested 33-year-old Tamika White in connection with the robbery and attack, but all charges against White were later dropped.

After the July 11 arrest, Wade was charged with attempted murder, elder abuse with infliction of injury and second-degree robbery. According to a press release from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Wade allegedly brutally attacked Lopez inside a grocery store bathroom and then stole his wallet after the beating.

Police records indicate that Wade was previously convicted for robbery back in 2016. Based upon the above charges alone – even if not amended in light of current circumstances – Wade could be facing up to 25 years to life in prison.

Miguel S. Coronado, a spokesperson for the deceased victim’s family, stated the following about the horrendous crime:

“We condemn this violence. This will not be tolerated. We’re angry. We’re hurt. We’re upset. And we’re calling on anybody that is doing this against our people, or any people for that matter, that you will be caught. And you’ll be prosecuted.”

Coronado further stated that the family will rally behind local authorities to ensure that justice is sought and achieved in this horrible murder:

“We will support the LAPD, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to make sure that you are brought to justice, if you are hurting any human being and you leave them for dead.”

As of this time, the DA’s Office has not yet commented on whether charges will be upgraded against Wade.

As for other attacks against the elderly, authorities are still searching for the man behind an unprovoked attack that happened in Illinois.

Police in Chicago are seeking information on the identity of a suspect caught on video striking an elderly man while he was sweeping an outside area on July 23.

The incident was said to have happened on the 100 block of West Jackson Boulevard at roughly 2:50 p.m. on the 23rd. The suspect is a young black male who was wearing a tank top and shorts at the time of the attack.

Hate crime? Police looking for young black man who sucker-punched elderly person who was sweeping.
Suspect wanted for unprovoked assault in Chicago

The video shows a clearly unprovoked attack, as the victim is simply going about his business sweeping when the aggressor turns toward the victim and strikes him in the face.

Anyone with information that can lead to the arrest of this man is asked to call Detective Stevens at (312) 744-8269.
