SAN ANTONIO – A Texas man was arrested on Sunday for raping a young girl. Evidence of the crime was discovered in the “deleted” folder on an electronic device.
The mother of the victim made the horrifying discovery while looking at a tablet that belonged to the suspect. According to WDSU, she found a video of 35-year-old Jose Trinidad Gonzalez reportedly raping her own 7-year-old daughter in the “deleted photos” folder.
According to a San Antonio Police Department arrest report, Gonzalez allowed the victim and her siblings to play games on his iPad. However, on Sunday the children’s mother took a look at the tablet to conduct her own investigation. And her discovery was shocking.
She apparently checked the tablet to simply see what kind of games her kids were playing. Yet, perhaps her gut told her something was off about Gonzalez because she opened the “deleted photos” folder of the device.
While in this area of the device, she reportedly saw a photograph of her daughter’s genitals and the video of Gonzalez raping her daughter.
Gonzalez’s relation to the mother and her children have not been released by police, the Miami Herald reports. Disclosure of the mother’s information would reveal the identity of the victim, which needs to be avoided for her protection. As a result, the mother remains unnamed.
However, KENS5 said it was a man she trusted.
Gonzalez was booked at the Bexar County Jail. Consequently, he remains in custody on a $150,000 bond.
