ASHVILLE, NC – Vice presidential candidate and current U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) addressed a crowd in northwestern North Carolina recently and when the cameras moved around her, it was obvious that there were only a few people in attendance. Very few. Like fewer than 10 people.

While Harris was campaigning Oct. 21 for herself and her running mate, former Vice President Joe Biden, she was also there to support Democratic challenger Cal Cunningham as he faces incumbent Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) for a seat in the U.S. Senate.
During her address, she again attacked the Trump administration for its Covid-19 response and claimed that Trump’s appointment of Amy Coney Barrett to the U.S. Supreme Court was illegitimate.
It is perhaps a given that one of the main reasons Harris isn’t drawing crowds in large numbers, especially in southern states where hunting and gun ownership are valued rights, is her and Biden’s stance on gun ownership and limitations.
Harris has stated repeatedly that if Congress didn’t come forward with significant gun-control legislation within her first 100 days in office, she would, as president, enact gun control measures through executive order. She continues to restate her position — which she unveiled as a presidential candidate — though she’s no longer running for president, but vice president, and wouldn’t have the executive order powers in that role.
It appears that Harris has adopted the “all-or-nothing” position on gun ownership. False narratives are sown about rampant issues with legal firearms sales, but yet again, she offers nothing to address illegal ownership, often caused by back-alley sales involving stolen guns.
Harris uses strong scare tactics in her statements while talking about active-shooter drills in schools, as seen when she addressed young voters in a town hall.
“In America, that should never have to happen. Conversations take place every night between students and their parents, ‘Why do these things have to happen?’ ‘Why do we have to have a drill like that?’
“To which, of course, the response is because there are people in Washington, D.C., supposed leaders, who have failed to have the courage to reject a false choice, which suggests you are either in favor of the Second Amendment or you want to take everyone’s guns away.
“Supposed leaders in Washington, D.C., who have failed to have the courage to recognize ‘you know what, you want to go hunting? That’s fine.’ But we need reasonable gun safety laws in this country.”
Again, it isn’t hunting safety issues that bring about mass shootings, drive-bys and robberies – it’s illegal gun ownership – which for some mysterious reason has never been addressed by anyone in the Democratic party.

Harris has made several points about her gun-control philosophy. Without editorializing, secondary explanations are given:
- A requirement that any individual or business selling more than five guns a year perform background checks on gun purchasers (completely unenforceable.)
- Any dealer or manufacturer who breaks the law would have their license revoked by the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (no initial firearms sales license is required for small numbers of purchases or sales.)
- Harris would reinstate a “fugitive ban” that would prohibit anyone with an outstanding warrant from buying a gun (already exists, covered in the typical background check.)
- Extend a law that prevents individuals convicted of domestic violence from buying firearms to include dating partners. Currently, the law applies only to convicted individuals who are married (domestic violence convictions are covered, regardless of relationship.)
Perhaps the policies of Harris and Biden appeal to coastal elites and uber-liberals, but their gun-control stance may be much too liberal for Southern and Midwestern voters to digest.

Reporter at AZ Biden/Harris event: ‘Technically a big event but not a lot of fanfare’ – ‘Can’t tell anything much is going on’
October 13, 2020
PHOENIX, AZ – Current Democratic presidential and vice presidential nominees Joe Biden and Kamala Harris stopped in for a campaign event at the Heard Museum in Phoenix, Arizona. It was the first campaign event since the Democratic National Convention in which both headliners were in attendance.
One would think this would be a huge event, with millions of people dying to hear firsthand what the two candidates had to say, except, not very many people even bothered to show up.
How funny he says they didn't tell anyone, barely had date and time on Trump Rally and 20k plus were there with us! @RichKittyjo

Fox News 10 affiliate reporter Nicole Garcia attended the campaign stop and mentioned that press reports had promoted the Oct. 8 event ahead of time. But video footage of the area by Garcia and Fox News showed very few people outside the building.
“We’re right outside of the Heard Museum where Joe Biden and Kamala Harris and their motorcade arrived about one o’clock this afternoon. They are meeting with several tribal leaders here at the Heard Museum, and not a lot of fanfare here.”
Garcia then stepped away and allowed her camera person to pan over the area, which confirmed the lack of people in attendance.
“So, it’s not your typical presidential campaign event. We don’t see people rallying outside. We don’t see signs or much of what’s going on.
“I’m told by one of the Biden staffers, local staffers, is that they kind of kept the details of the visit – as far as the timing and exact location – they didn’t want to give that out to the public because they want to keep crowds to a minimum. They realize we are in a pandemic, and they don’t want a crowd of more than 50 people at their events.”

So, in true Democratic form, the lack of a crowd or excitement could not possibly be for the reason that the candidate is not as popular as they want you to believe. Now, when crowds of people do not show up, Democrats will have a ready-made excuse available.
And this one sure fit the bill. Yet even still, it seemed rather unlikely that Biden or Harris would use the pandemic as a reason to keep their adoring supporters away.

Due to the simple fact that the state of Arizona is viewed as a battleground, one would think the candidates would want plenty of people in attendance. Or, at least some folks waving political signs in a show of support for the media. However, there was none of that for this event.
“Technically a big event but not a lot of fanfare. So, we’re getting information about what’s going on with these meetings from our national correspondent pool reporters. But from out here, you really can’t tell anything much is going on.”
At this event, Biden and Harris met with tribal leaders while they unveiled a plan to assist the Native American population. Biden and Harris claimed their tribal policy would include: defending voter rights, fix health care disparities, restore tribal lands, protect cultural sites, and clean up thousands of abandoned mines.
Biden and Harris also met with former Senator John McCain’s wife, Cindy. Cindy McCain, Biden and Harris then went to the American Indian Veterans National Memorial together.

During the visit, Biden resurrected the claim that President Trump had referred to members of the military as “suckers” and “losers.” Biden cited an article that was written in the Atlantic magazine, who made the claim based on “anonymous sources.” In other words, there was no tangible evidence or testimony from a person who had overheard the president utter that statement.
Harris then pridefully touted the fact that she and Biden have the support of Cindy McCain and President Trump does not.
Harris told reporters:
“[Cindy] knows Joe and I will always do what she and John did and that’s put our country first.”
