Busted: Joe Biden’s claim of attending a historically black university is being refuted by the school

WASHINGTON D.C. – Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden has a long history of changing his story or lying about his personal life.

Back in 2019, while on the campaign trail, he even alleged that he had jumpstarted his academic career at Delaware State University, one of the country’s historically black colleges and universities (HBCU).

Last year, in South Carolina before the state’s Democratic primary, Biden told the audience of a town hall event:

“I got started out of an HBCU, Delaware State. Now, I don’t want to hear anything negative about Delaware State. They’re my folks.”

However, according to a new report from The Washington Times, Delaware State University refutes that claim. Carlos Holmes, director of news services for Delaware State said that Biden was never a student at their school.

Holmes did confirm that Biden has made appearances twice on campus for commencement speeches at the public university in Dover, but again he was never a student.

Holmes said in an email:

“Vice president Biden did not attend DSU. However, he was the commencement keynote speaker in 2003 and in 2016 and during the former he was awarded an honorary doctoral degree.”

Biden has long been accused of making up the DSU connection, but now the university has finally denied his claims, erasing any doubt.

Biden’s 2007 memoir titled “Promises to Keep” details his early years at a private Catholic school to his time as a freshman at the University of Delaware. At no point in his book does Biden make mention of Delaware State University.

Biden has faced controversy over the years for embellishing his own biographical history. Allegedly, he previously said that he was the first in his family to attend college and that his relatives were coal miners.

Both statements Biden later recanted.

Back in 1988, Biden blew up his own presidential bid by plagiarizing fictitious accounts of his hard-knock roots.

Now, almost 38 years later, his experience back then clearly has not impacted the way his 2020 presidential campaign is going since he is still exaggerating, conflating, and inventing stories about his upbringing and political history.

Since the very beginning of the 2020 campaign, Biden has been caught on several occasions spinning false information, a tendency that has prompted his supporters to wonder what on earth is he talking about and exasperation from conservatives who are stunned he made it as far as he has.

Rick Manning, president of the free-market Americans for Limited Government said in a statement:

“This has been a career-long problem that he’s had. I think a lot of people look at the things he’s doing now and say, ‘Oh, he’s getting older.” And, that may be true, but the fact is, this is his historical record. This is not a recent phenomenon. This is who he is.”

In another instance, Biden said that he remembered meeting with the Parkland students when he was vice president, but the school shooting happened more than a year after he had left office. Back in August 2019, he delivered a stirring, detailed account of traveling as vice president to Kunar province, Afghanistan to pin a Silver Star on a heroic Navy captain who risked his life to retrieve the body of another soldier.

Biden told the crowd at Dartmouth:

“God’s truth, my word as a Biden. He stood at attention, I went to pin him, he said, ‘Sir, I don’t want the damn thing. Do not pin it on me sir, please. Do not do that. He died. He died.'”

According to a Washington Post fact-check, the reality was significantly different than the tall-tale he told the crowd at Dartmouth. Biden did visit Afghanistan, but as a senator in 2008.

The soldier was not a Navy captain, but an Army Specialist and he was presented with the Medal of Honor at the White House by President Barack Obama, not by the vice president overseas.

WASHINGTON, DC – It should be common knowledge that members of the Democratic Party are doing whatever they can to entice votes from anyone.

For the last few years, they have pushed legislation and political talking points regarding illegal aliens, and desperately tried to paint President Trump as being racist. They have also attempted to align themselves with groups like Antifa and Black Lives Matter, groups responsible for millions of dollars in damages to cities, loss of life, and injuries to hundreds of police officers.

Now, they are making a desperate appeal to Catholics, hoping to get their vote.

The Democratic Party has made it a point to talk about Democratic Presidential Nominee Joe Biden and his Catholic faith.

In addition, the party has made it a point to feature members of the Catholic faith at the conference. All with the hope that people of the Catholic faith will view the Democratic Party as being acceptable to vote for in the general election.

While the Democrats are hoping to gain the favor of the Catholic base, some people are questioning if Democratic Vice Presidential Nominee Kamala Harris is the right person to be supporting in the general election.

The reason for this concern is her anti-Catholic views on items such as same-sex marriage, sex changes, and abortion, all of which are condemned by devout teachings of the Catholic faith.

Issues have also been raised about her questioning of now-U.S. District Court Judge Brian Buescher during his confirmation hearing in 2018. The reason she and Democratic Sen. Mazie Hirono had issues with Buescher at his confirmation hearing was not because of any law-related issue, but because he was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

For those who do not know, the Knights of Columbus is a Catholic faith-based ministry and charity which was founded in 1882.

Its website says:

“Founded on the principles of charity, unity, and fraternity, the Knights of Columbus was established in 1882 by Father Michael J McGivney, assistant pastor of St Mary’s Church in New Haven, Conn., and a group of parishioners. Their intent? To bring financial aid and assistance to the sick, disabled and needy members and their families.”

With a faith-based organization that caters to helping those in need, what could possibly be cause for concern?

Cause for concern to the Left is that the Knights of Columbus stands by strong Catholic ideologies that prohibit same-sex relationships, sex changes, and abortions.

During confirmation questioning, Hirono said to Buescher:

“The Knights of Columbus has taken a number of extreme positions.  If confirmed, do you intend to end your membership with this organization to avoid any appearance of bias?”

Harris then followed up with the question:

“Were you aware that the Knights of Columbus opposed a woman’s right to choose when you joined the organization?”

Their line of questioning brought immediate criticism from Catholic League President Bill Donohue.

He said:

“Sens. Harris and Hirono are playing a game: they are engaged in selective religious profiling and sexism.”

Former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Commission on Human Rights Ken Blackwell also chimed in.

He said:

“[Democrats should] end this tactic of engaging in religious discrimination to destroy people nominated for public office.”

Penny Nance, the president of Concerned Women for America, said:

“This isn’t just about the Knights of Columbus or Catholics, this is an ongoing attack from the extremist left of the Democratic Party to silence people of faith and run them out of engaging in public service based on their religious beliefs. It is pure and simple religious bigotry.”

Clearly, abortion rights, which go against Catholic beliefs, are a hot-button issue for Harris.  Recently, the Little Sisters of the Poor won a U.S. Supreme Court case which enabled them to follow their religious beliefs and not provide contraceptives or abortions to their employees. When this happened, Harris stood in opposition, calling the ruling “dangerous” and a “setback” for women’s rights. Biden also spoke out against the ruling, and vowed to have it reversed if elected to the presidency.

Supreme Court hands win to religious group healthcare – yet Biden vows to reverse it

Both Harris and Biden have stood out publicly against the teachings of devout Catholics, but now they want their support to win the presidency. While some Catholics are willing to vote for them, the devout ones must question their teachings, beliefs and faith before they cast their vote.
