UNITED ARAB EMIRATES - In the final year of the Obama administration, then Vice President Joe Biden and his wife Jill went on a trip to the Middle East. While speaking in the United Arab Emirates to members of the United States Air Force's 380th Air Expeditionary Wing, Biden told those in attendance that he had provided the appointment for 1LT Karen Johnson to the Air Force Academy.
The same man who cannot speak in complete, coherent sentences when he is reading typed statements from a teleprompter, had no problem uttering the following: “Notwithstanding what you may hear about me, I have incredibly good judgment,” Biden said. “One, I married Jill and two, I appointed Johnson to the academy. I just want you to know that, so clap for that you stupid bastards. Man, you all are a dull bunch. It must be slow here, man.”
Look, I was a member of the US Military for 8 years, 2 months and 24 days. So, when he was talking to the men and women of the 380th AEW, he was talking to me. But I am not offended. I am not taking to the streets, and I am not threatening harm to him or anyone else. I am not a leftist. I do however find it ironic, that once again, the mainstream media is glossing over the fact that Biden has actually done the things he accuses President Trump of doing. And every time he does it, he gets caught on camera.
Remember that one time Democrats accused the President of withholding aid to Ukraine and asking for dome quid pro quo? Do you also recall that the accusations were unfounded. Yet, here we have Biden admitting to withholding $1 billion in aid from the same country unless they fired the prosecutor that was investigating Hunter Biden.
He was protecting his son. The same son that may very well be investigated for a myriad of allegations, such as accepting $3.5 million from the wife of a former Moscow mayor. That same guy that had zero experience in the energy industry, yet somehow made millions by being a board member of a Ukrainian energy sector company. The same son that shacked up with his brother's widow but broke up with her and got married to another woman a month later, had an affair and a child with a stripper, and refuses to pay child support.
The same son that was awarded a commission in the US Navy, only to lose it a month later after testing positive for cocaine. It might be time to stop protecting your 50-year-old son and let him find his own way out of the endless cycle of legal issues and scandals he winds up in. Although, being the saint you continue to make him out to be, it was probably all just a right-wing conspiracy. But, enough about Hunter...let's get back to the Vice President of the United States calling a group of Airmen "stupid bastards." Again, Biden is a man that is still trying to convince people that President Trump called those buried in a military cemetery "losers."
Never mind that these claims have been completely refuted by numerous people that were part of the conversation, some of whom are not Trump supporters. His campaign confirmed that the video, which started recirculating this week, was authentic. Andrew Bates, the campaign's Director of Rapid Response told the Washington Examiner: “Vice President Biden was jokingly encouraging the audience to clap for an airwoman on the stage, and a number of service members can be seen laughing and smiling at the comment.” Oh, so because a "number" of them could be seen laughing and smiling, it makes it ok.
You know what Andrew, you almost sold me on your argument. I mean he was just joking, you stupid bastard. Just kidding. But it's ok. Everyone in the room with me was laughing and smiling at the comment. See what I did there? The left once lost their minds when President Trump told NFL owners that they should "fire the son-of-a-bitch" referring to any players who knelt for the national anthem. People actually were saying that the President's statement was a verbal assault player's moms.
So, let me get this straight. The President calls unpatriotic millionaires "sons of bitches," and it was a comment that was unbefitting the office? Yet, the Vice President can call some of our nation's finest "stupid bastards" and it is just a joke? No biggie. And no one questioned why he insulted their intelligence or what their fathers thought about them all being told they didn't know their dads. It's fine. He was just kidding. Or was he? This isn't the only example of Joe "Oh, you know, the thing" Biden going off script and saying what he was really thinking.
He called one man a "damn liar" and "fat". "Well I tell you what, if you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or Trump, then you ain't Black. Take a look at my record, man!" Here are a few of the other "gaffes." "Poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids." "I mean you've got the first sort of mainstream African American (Barack Obama), who is articulate and bright, and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook, man."
But luckily, he is just joking. "I've had a great relationship [with Indians]. In Delaware, the largest growth in population is Indian-Americans moving from India. You cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I'm not joking." Oh, I guess he isn't joking. Probably the truest thing he has ever said... "I never had an interest in being a mayor 'cause that's a real job. You have to produce. That's why I was able to be a senator for 36 years."
Look, I have lost family members to Alzheimer's disease and dementia. So, I will not attack Joe Biden on the fact that he has recently been stumbling with words. But I will tell you this, he is a puppet. People close to him know he is not well. And that is who I have a problem with. Jill Biden sits idly by watching her husband be propped up on stage and simply say what someone else types for him. All that being said, joking or not, calling members of the military stupid bastards is not funny and it is never acceptable, especially from an elected official.
